Nursing Care Particularities in Children Admitted to Hospital with Autism
SCHÖNBAUEROVÁ, Andrea
The topic of the thesis is the Nursing Care Particularities in Children Admitted to Hospital with Autism. In the theoretical part is found the description of autism causes, clinical manifestation, diagnostics, basic therapeutic measures and nursing care in such children. The thesis has set three goals: Goal 1- finding out problems concerning the hospital admittance of an autistic child. Goal 2- determining the specific features of nursing care in children with autism. Goal 3- creating an informative brochure that would help nurses to gain basic information necessary to provide expert nursing care to autistic children. To gain these goals, a method of qualitative research and the technique of standardized interviews were used. In the frame of the research, two research samples were used. The first one consisted of nurses who work in children´s psychiatric wards and children´s neurologic wards. These nurses were chosen deliberately as they care about autistic children regularly and have a lot of experience in this branch. Altogether ten interviews were conducted and were recorded on the record keeping sheet and consequently processed. The other research sample were mothers of children in whom autism was diagnosed and who experienced hospital admittance either as a diagnostic stay or in connection with acute treatment. Also here ten interviews were conducted. After the completion of qualitative research answers to the set research questions were gained: Research question 1 finds out what are the specific features of nursing care in children with autism. On the basis of the research, it was concluded that nursing care in autistic children has some specific features such as communication, observing rituals, the necessity of a parent´s company, as well as the psychical burden both of children and staff. Research question 2 focused on finding what problems are connected with the hospital admittance of an autistic child. On the basis of the conducted interviews, it was concluded that the biggest problems concerning hospital admittance apply to children´s aggressivity, difficult adaptability to environment changes and problems that occur after the experienced admittance. Further on, it was concluded that also children´s individuality is a serious problem that has to be taken into consideration during nursing care. Research question 3 found out how nurses assess parent´s presence during the admittance of autistic children. All nurses perceive the parent´s presence highly positively. They see the most benefits in passing important information to nurses, accompanying the child during the whole period of admittance, helping with the adaptation to a new environment, providing the common daily care including spending free time and giving the child the feeling of safety and assurance. Research question 4 deals with nurses´ feelings when nursing autistic children. The provided information is individual. The research has found that nurses feel well, do not see problems and the work is routine for them. Negative feelings are influenced by circumstances concerning mood, tiredness or demanding communication with parents. Further, it was concluded that nurses feel insecurity in the period when they start working with autistic children or during the first contact with the child. With regard to high disorder prevalence in the population, it is essential for nurses to know basic information concerning autism and adopt the basis of nursing care in children with this disability type. In this connection, an information material was created that has to help nurses to acquire basic information necessary to provide expert care to autistic children.

BLAFKOVÁ, Šárka
People communicate to understand one another and share information. Speaking is crucial in the course of everyone's entire life. In this thesis, we have focused on the issues related to communication with seniors with a hearing disorder. It is necessary to properly diagnose the hearing disorder using suitable methods of examination, and subsequently propose possible means of therapy and train the patient on use of the hearing aid if necessary. Two objectives were set out, both of which were achieved. Objective 1: Map the effective skills used by nurses when communicating with seniors with a hearing disorder. Objective 2: Determine how unsuitable communication by nurses affects seniors with a hearing disorder. A quantitative and qualitative examination was performed. Within the quantitative examination, 200 questionnaires were handed out, of which 178 properly completed were returned for processing. The qualitative examination consisted of a semi-structured interview of ten seniors with a hearing disorder with the help of technology. We defined three hypotheses. Hypothesis 1: The type of education affects nurses' communication skills with seniors with a hearing disorder. Hypothesis 2: Nurses adhere to the principles of communication with seniors with a hearing disorder. Both hypotheses were confirmed. Hypothesis 3: Nurses consider care for seniors with a hearing disorder to be a burden. The last hypothesis was not confirmed. Three research questions were also defined. Research question 1: How does the current manner of communication by nurses affect seniors with a hearing disorder? Answer 1: The current manner of communication of nurses with seniors with a hearing disorder has a positive effect. Research question 2: How do seniors with a hearing disorder perceive non-verbal communication by nurses? Nursing process in newborn with hyperbilirubinemia
SEKALOVÁ, Monika
The thesis deals with Nursing process with neonates diagnosed with hyperbilirubinemia. The theoretical part focuses on the physiological and premature new-born babies, anatomy and physiology of blood, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia problems, nursing process and NANDA and NIC classification systems. The practical part contains research results. Qualitative method was used for the research and it was carried out at the neonatal department in Nemocnice Ceske Budejovice, a.s. (Ceske Budejovice Hospital). The first objective was to determine the specifics of nursing care for full-term new-borns and premature new-borns diagnosed with hyperbilirubinemia. It was found that the specifics were mainly in monitoring of the physiological functions, measurement frequency of transcutaneous bilirubinometry, in positioning the new-born during phototherapy, in the prescribed temperature inside the incubator and in children's diets. All information necessary was collected through interviews with nurses, from documentation content analysis and by observation. Based on the information, case studies were developed. The research sample consisted of two new-born babies diagnosed with hyperbilirubinemia. The second objective of the thesis was to determine nurses´ position when using NANDA classification systems to diagnose Neonatal jaundice and NIC Phototherapy: new-born. It was found that nurses would change some defining characteristics and related factors to diagnose Neonatal jaundice (00194) as well asinterventions from NIC Phototherapy: new-born (6924). Most of them agreed that they would not like to use these classifications during care of the new-borns. Information was collected using structured interviews with three neonatal nurses and two midwives. The results could be used to improve nursing care for neonates diagnosed with hyperbilirubinemia.

Insulin Therapy from A Nursing Perspective
JELÍNKOVÁ, Kateřina
Diabetes mellitus is a serious and incurable disease prone to specific complications, known since 1550 BC. Recent international studies have shown that approximately 347 million people suffer from diabetes and the number is still increasing. Diabetes is treated by taking dietary measures; in addition to diet and oral antidiabetic medication, exogenous insulin intake is the ultimate treatment option. It was the exogenous insulin administration in 1922 that brought up a revolution in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Since then safer and user-friendlier insulins have been and still are developed. Insulin is stored in liquid form in vials or cartridges and is only administered intravenously; however, it is assumed that an equally effective application method will be found in the future. The aim of the thesis is to map out the specifics of nursing care of insulin therapy clients and to answer the following research question: ?What are the specific needs of clients with insulin therapy?? ?How is the nurse involved in the education of the client in terms of insulin therapy?? ?Do insulin therapy patients have enough information about diabetes mellitus and insulin therapy?? The thesis consists of a theoretical and research part. The theoretical part deals with information about diabetes mellitus, insulin, insulin therapy and the role of nurses in care of diabetic patients. The research part encompasses an inquiry carried out as an anonymous interview where ten diabetic patients with insulin therapy were asked semi-open and open questions. The acquired data were transformed into case studies and categorization tables. The research questions were answered and the objective was achieved. In conclusion, the research suggests that patients do not have enough information about diabetes and insulin therapy. Specifics of the nursing care of diabetic patients with insulin therapy depends on the patient's needs. Most patients mentioned the need for contact with other diabetic patients. Nurses are involved in the education of patients with insulin therapy primarily as teachers of application and handling the insulin pen. This thesis served as the basis for the creation of an educational material for nurses. This material may prove helpful for nurses as a guide in the process of training diabetic patients to use the insulin pen. Alternatively, it can be used by medical care students as a learning resource.

Černá, Michaela ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Trampota, Tomáš (referee)
This paper focuses on three new Czech media projects founded in 2014: news web Echo24.cz, a monthly Reporter magazin and a video portal DVTV. More specifically, it describes their creation, which took place as a consequence of the changes in the media market in the Czech Republic in the years 2013-2014. These were mainly changes in ownership structure as Andrej Babis acquired the publishing house Mafra and changes brought about by the crisis of the Czech Television channel. This paper maps out the establishment of new media projects and their positioning in an already competitive environment by observing the communication strategy of these projects. On the basis of predefined criteria it analyses the initial launch campaigns, the means used for marketing and the communication with the public during the first year after the projects were launched. This analysis is complemented by interviews with the authors of the projects: Dalibor Balsinek (Echo24.cz), Robert Casensky (Reporter magazin) and Jan Rozkosny (DVTV). On the basis of this analysis a comparison of the projects and their communication strategies is carried out. The obtained results can be useful in further research of the evolution of these media projects.
