OPTIMIZATION OF ALGORITHMS AND DATA STRUCTURES FOR REGULAR EXPRESSION MATCHING USING FPGA TECHNOLOGY
Kaštil, Jan ; Plíva, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vlček, Karel (referee) ; Kotásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
Disertační práce se zabývá rychlým vyhledáváním regulárních výrazů v síťovém provozu s použitím technologie FPGA. Vyhledávání regulárních výrazů v síťovém provozu je výpočetně náročnou operací využívanou převážně v oblasti síťové bezpečnosti a v oblasti monitorování provozu vysokorychlostních počítačových sítí.

The theme of the project was to create a new building of Brno School of Art. The building is located on the territory of Brno-Kraví hora and is surrounded by the park, astronomical observatory and planetárium and the gardens. The land is located on a sloping terrain and nowadays there are situated old buildings intended for demolition on it. The design reacts to the difficult slope of the land and its aim is not only to create a new building, but also transformation of the land into the attractive park. The object is designed as a single mass consisting of the main building and two attached pavillons. There are branches of studies like fine arts department, musical department, department of dance and the literary drama department. The building is designed to have two floors. Construction is consisting of combination of reinforced concrete skeleton and reinforced concrete walls. The facade is made up of corten metal plates. The parts of the buildings are also Café and multifunctional hall, in which there is possible to hold performances or exhibitions. The aim is to open both the land and school to public and integrate the Kraví hora to the city life

Faculty of Philosphy and Arts Charles University, Prague 1945-1953
Zubec, Tomáš ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Svatoš, Michal (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis examines the situation at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University, Czechoslovakia, in the aftermath of World War II, specifically during the tumultuous period from 1945 to 1953. It outlines the difficulties the University faced in the early post-war years in trying to cope with large numbers of students who had been unable to complete their studies due to the war, and who now wished to enroll. It also describes key events that intimately affected the University, such as the 600th anniversary of the founding of the University and the "Victorious February" of 1948, which decidedly changed the University's traditions. The thesis outlines the gradual change and ideological transformation of the University following the Communist takeover of February 1948. I illustrate societal and university developments during the period using the example of Professor Václav Čern, who served as a faculty member since the 1930s until his expulsion, on ideological grounds, in 1951. Many other faculty members, as well as students and staff, were forced to leave the University following ideologically driven inspections. Consequently, the Faculty and the entire University assumed an entirely new role in society. This was formalized with the adoption of a new law on higher education of 18 May...

Privacy and propaganda: The iconography of the emperor Rudolf II
Zlatohlávková, Eliška
Many portraits were painted of Rudolf II during his lifetime, forming a significant component of Rudolfian art, however, they have not received sufficient art historical attention. They document—at times in a stylyzed manner—the transformation of Rudof´s appearance. However, their most important task was to demonstrate and make tangeable Rudolf´s authentic apperance to the world and to celebrate his magnanimity and personality. Thus, there are many portraits that represent Rudolf as a good emperor or a brilliant commander. It is difficult to find interconnections between the many portraits that were produced of Rudolf, however among them one may find some artworks that would become exemplars for other portraits of the emperor during his reign/lifetime/the end of the 16th and early 17th century.

Teichmanová, Jana ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Vondráček, Radim (referee)
This work is deling with personality and work of Celda Kloucek, a sculptor and ornamentalist living at the turn of 20th century. Celda Kloucek was born 6th December 1855 in Senomaty near Rakovnlk. Advised by his patron Milller, he decided to accept a position with ornamentalist sculptor Otto Lessing in Berlin, where he got his first professional training. Kloucek turned out to be an excellent sculptor, especially in ornamental construction work. The contracts were diverse and he learned to work with many different materials. In 1879 he enroled in professor Otto Konig special course at Arts and Crafts School in Vienna. After three years, he became a reader at Arts and Crafts School in Frankfurt am Main. In 1888, he opened his atelier at Arts and Crafts School in Prague. He was teaching here for twenty-eight years. Many recognized artists emerged from his atelier, all of them adhering to Kloucek's emphasis on clarity of composition and simplicity of the ornament. Kloucek's work evolved from ornamental creations on house exteriors in neo-Rennaissance and neo-baroque style to naturalism, and finally to Art Noveau, in which he created his master pieces: Wohanka house portal (1898), Museum of Western Bohemia in Pilsen (1900-1901), Prague Credit bank (1902), Blecha house (1904), and Order of the Cross monastery...
