Using Rough logic for predicting price movements on financial markets
Kutnar, Petr
Financial markets and especially their movements are very difficult to predict. For this reason, it cannot be clearly concluded what market will do. We cannot use basic logical operators such as if A happens, then comes B. Since we cannot use simple decision rules and we work in high uncertainty we cannot easily build classical mathematical model because of uncertainty of each and every result. However to analyze this type of data we can used Rough logic which is design to work with uncertainty. The aim of this thesis is use of Rough logic to create a mathematical model, which will be able to some extent to understand and eventually predict individual market movements. Market uncertainty Purpose of the article: Using Rough logic for predicting price movements. Scientific aim: Rough Set. Conclusions: Methodology for using Rough set in financial markets.

Introduction to Nonparametric Methods
Prelecová, Natália ; Kulich, Michal (advisor) ; Navrátil, Radim (referee)
Title: Introduction to Nonparametric Methods Author: Natália Prelecová Department: Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: doc. Mgr. Michal Kulich,Ph.D., Department of Probability and Mathematical Statistics Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to introduce basic nonparametric methods. Nonparametric methods embrace a large class of statistical procedures which do not assume specific data distribution such as normal distribution. They often re- present the only available means of examining specific types of data, for example ranks or counts. Weaker assumptions of these methods make them less powerful than their parametric counterparts. This thesis describes in detail four nonparametric tests- the Ordinary Sign Test, the Wilcoxon Signed-rank Test, the Mann-Whitney Test and finally the Two- sample Wilcoxon Test. The structure of their description will entail the following: the formulation of assumptions, null hypothesis and alternatives, the construction of the test statistic and the definition of rejection regions. The most essential prob- lems, such as the problem of ties, will be also covered. The basic characteristics of the Linear Rank Statistics will be also explained, followed by the Two-sample Wilcoxon test. Keywords: nonparametrical, hypothesis, ranks, consistency, statistic

Verification of the statistical reliability of simulation results in OPNET Modeler environment
Fördős, András ; Vajsar, Pavel (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
Project is focused to verify the credibility of the results of statistical simulation in the surround of OPNET Modeler. At the beginning of the project is a short introduction to the problematic of OPNET Modeler. It describes the basic concepts of mathematical statistics, data types and some basic statistical charakteristics. In the project was created model of LAN network, were set up three different types of runs and several monitored statistics. In this project are listed setting of the model, startup parameters of some runtime simulations, prefered variety of statistics and the possibility to display final results of statistics. Description of options displaying final results of statistics is supplemented by model characteristics. Created model was further extended and modified. Have been added network services, has changed the number of nodes and the duration of the simulation. Results of analysis of the original scenario are compared to the results of a modified scenario, which are scheduled. At the end of this project are obtained result, recommended way and form of displaying basic statistics and advice on the number of simulation runs needed to obtain reliable results.

Texture Analysis of Ophthalmologic Images
Kaňka, Jan ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Jan, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with creating of software for textural analysis of retinal images by statistic method called co-occurrence matrices as possible alternative method to detection of lesion of retina by the glaucoma diseases. The Glaucoma diseases without well-timed diagnostics and consequential treatment leads to blindness. The retinal images captured by fundus camera are common, easily processable and modern devices are able to make images of 10 Mpix resolution and bigger, what specifies outputs of analytic software. Method of co-occurrence analysis is simple and effective statistic. But computing demandingness, showing up with growing objective quality, comming up as disadvantage.
