Embedded system for date collection
Varga, Kamil ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
This master's thesis is describing problems of embedded systems and their development. Furthermore, the operating system GNU/Linux and it's cross-compiling is described. Hardware problems are analyzed too. Concrete solution is system which is able to boot from the USB disc and it is based on OpenWrt distribution running on Edimax BR-6104KP router. The whole solution is described the way which can lead to any general embedded system.
Universal Analyzer of Serial Buses
Gajdoš, Matúš ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this master’s thesis is to design and to realize the universal analyzer of serial buses. At the beginning there are described in detail specifications and properties of buses IC, SMBus, PMBus and of the UART interface. The second part is targeted especially to design and to realize the control unit, which is the main part of the whole analyzer. It provides connecting to the unknown bus, to buses IC, SMBus, PMBus and SPI and to the UART interface. The main part of the control unit is the microcontroller PIC24HJ128GP204, which partially analyses connected bus. In the next part there is created the user application for PC, which controls and sets the control unit and receives from it partially analyzed data through the USB port. These data are used for the rest of the analysis that is done by the user application. Results may be presented to user in graphical or text form. The user application provides export of results into some of image formats. Supported formats are PS, SVG, PDF, PNG and BMP. In case of the control unit is not available, the user may choose the simulator to simulate some functions that the application provides. It supports simulation of the analysis of the unknown bus and the IC bus. The user application also contains the function of the generating own signals. Signals can be created interactively by using the mouse in the graphical representation of this signal. They can be sent to the control unit and after that it applies them to output. This function is not supported in current version of the control unit software. The user application includes some items, which do not have implemented any methods and they are prepared for the future upgrading of the analyzer. It means especially user controls and components for signal conversions between any buses.
Monitor for Wireless M-Bus
Baštán, Ondřej ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Šťastný, Ladislav (advisor)
The thesis proposes a battery-powered devices to monitor and record communications Wireless M-BUS. Work describes how the communication protocol M-BUS, and the related wireless communication protocol Wireless M-BUS and selection of appropriate hardware for the design of the equipment in question. Work also deals with the design and creation of firmware that matches the selected hardware and purpose solutions.
Security system for family house
Sohr, Martin ; Macháň, Ladislav (referee) ; Jaroš, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with complete theoretical design of security system for a family house, from the selection of technologies, security principles and selection of elements, theoretical suggestions of their placement to practical realization. I this thesis, securing of entry points, such as doors and windows, is done by magnetic contact sensors. Windows are secured also against breaking of glass. Inner space is secured using motion sensors. Further, the function principle of optical latches as secondary securing element of inner space is explained. The designed security system implements a central control unit, which is able to provide status information on all security elements to the host system. IQRF wireless communication operationg in licence-free is used for communication among elements of the security system. GSM SIM9000 module is used for communication with the security system.
Electronic thermometer and humidity meter
Lapáček, Petr ; Chmelař, Milan (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the design of measuring station used for the temperature and humidity measurement. There is a theoretical basical description of sensores for temperature and humidity measurement in the first part. Furthermore I deal with a theoretical design of measuring system, especially with types of materials and possibilities of communication between these parts. The main part of thesis is about communication on buses I2C,UART, SPI, RS485. There is a description of function procedure of particular integrated circuit, moduluses which are used in task in the next part of thesis. In the practical part I was engaged in a functional design of autonomous system for the temperature and ralative humidity measurement. Data could be presented by the computer after connection with the station. There is a description of testing the particular circuits and the full description of function particular blocks of system in the task. I have used the program called Eagle for schemes and printed wirings designing. The copy is placed on CD ready for next using. In the last part of thesis is a brief description of program algorithm "Meteostanice", which I have created for data presentation. There is an illustration of measuring results in these last part. The task is completely ready for the realization of autonomous system of weather station with its own memory.
Temperature and humidity monitoring devices with wirelless communication
Horváth, Michal ; Baštán, Ondřej (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The diploma thesis is about designing device which monitors temperature and humidity. In the first part of thesis are explained basic terms, importance of key variables and on market offered products are described. After that the thesis describes device concept design with schematic designs. From designed schematics are described printed circuit board designs. Next part is about device commissioning and correction of errors caused by incorrect design. Last part is about program designing and device testing.
Generic logic analyzer
Tajč, Martin ; Povalač, Karel (referee) ; Kubíček, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the project is to design a generic logic analyzer based on an FPGA. The analyzer should be able to analyze protocols such as I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485 and GPIO. The captured data can be observed using an embedded graphical display or using a PC. The PC can be used to control the analyzer and to save the captured data. The thesis is divided into several parts. First, the basic structure of the analyzer is described including detailed description of its particular components. Later on, the most common protocols that can be decoded using the analyzer are described. Finally, the FPGA subsystem and microcontroller application are presented together with corresponding source codes.
Universal measuring device for USB interface
Nosek, Petr ; Šilhavý, Pavel (referee) ; Krajsa, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with design and subsequent implementation of Universal measuring boards, cooperating with the PC via USB, representing the office of the oscilloscope and logic analyzer. It contains a proposal for a hardware measuring boards and the proposal of operating software for microcontroller mounted on the measuring board, as well as for personal computer operating system MS Windows. The work is complete chart measuring the preparation, design printed circuit and the final product photos. We are also diagrams of all development programmes and their source codes.

This bachelor thesis is about the JaQT (Just a Quick Test) platform which was developed for simple and fast software-hardware testing. The theoretical part of this thesis is describing used MCU, control board, peripherals and interfaces. The USB protocol and its CDC ACM class which is used for interfacing the device to enable communication with the board is described in this part as well. In the practical part is described how the JaQT was implemented, debugged, tested, used and evaluated.
Laboratory Pulse Power Supply Controlled by Microcontroller
Chytil, Jiří ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Šebesta, Jiří (advisor)
This project deals with design of switching laboratory supply controled by PIC microcontroler. It consist of three modules: control unit and couple of power modules. Each of the modul is controled by PIC18 microcontroler. Device should work autonomicaly or it can be connected with PC via USB. Output paremeters 0-20 V, 0-1 A.
