Occupational stress and coping strategies

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis focuses on the general concept of stress and its biological and psychological aspects. There are defined the specific signs of occupational stress, operating stressors and other context. Attention is also paid to coping strategies; the thesis presents some well-known theories of coping and their description. The thesis also deals with methods of research in the field of stress and coping strategies and it also presents basic information about the target group of assistants, who play an important role in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part of the thesis consists of case studies of workers on assistant positions. The case studies investigate the nature of their work and following stressors, subjective assessment of work-related stress and preference of coping strategies. In the final discussion, there are defined common features identified in case studies and they are confronted with theoretical background. Stress Management in Conference Interpreting

The present thesis focuses on stress management in conference interpreting. It explains the biological purpose of stress, stressors - aspects inducing a stress reaction, and the physiological, behavioral, emotional and cognitive symptoms and effects. Special attention is paid to occupational stress, namely in relation to interpreting, to the requirements on an interpreter's personality, and to stressors interpreters generally face. The thesis presents a detailed dscription of stress management- and coping styles, strategies and techniques. The empirical part explores the positive and negative expectations of interpreting students in the earliest stage of their studies in terms of stress, and aims at discovering whether students of interpreting as well as professional interpreters consider interpreting a stressful activity, whether they feel that stress management- and coping strategies and techniques should constitute an integral part of interpreter training, and whether this is or is not the case. The research concerned university institutes and departments of selected universities in the Czech Republic and abroad. On the basis of the outcomes of this research recommendations for practice concerning stress management, especially in terms of interpreter training, are outlined. Keywords: stress,...

The thesis deals with load, stress and related questions of the working life. Work-related stress brings numerous difficulties not only to affected individuals, but as a result also to organizations. The thesis follows symptoms, impacts, somatic and mental aspects of stress, its types and also types of stressors, which cause this problem. It is concentrated on workload as a specific area of work-related stress, individual resistance to the load, factors of workload and work-related stress and also on coping with problematic situations. The specific topic related to the stress is burnout syndrome. The thesis describes its formation and development, its causes, symptoms in three main levels - mental, physical and level of social relations and then influence of important factors such as personality and work conditions. It is also focused on professions endangered by burnout syndrome and its prevention. The prevention of pathological occurence of burnout syndrome (an example of employer)

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of burnout syndrome which is currently a very discuss frequent problem. The rate of working stress will be investigated in selected groups of staff in company COOP družstvo HB. The purpose of my thesis is to compare which group of staff is threatened by burnout syndrome the most. The work is focused on the economical aspects which are reflected particularly in human capital. There will be applied the quantitative research, concretely questionaire research. Based on the results of questionaire research will be applied analytical method of the job evaluation, which is one of the main issues of human resources management. This application will be also recommendation for prevention for the company.
Stress load in a specific job

This thesis focuses on the stress loads and stressors of the Police of the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, stress, stress history, types of stress and where stress comes from is closely described. The next part explains the influence of the load and stress on health, and the consequences of stress overload. The end of the theoretical part is focused on the unitary armed security corps. Work stress, stressors and factors at Police of the Czech Republic are defined there. The empirical part discusses a research of the stress level in the workplace of the Police of the Czech Republic that was carried out in Chomutov, Jirkov, Ústí nad Labem and Prague via questionnaire survey. This part of the work provides an inspection of the general characteristics of the sample, its statistic evaluation and graphs with an interpretation of the results. At the end, the stress level is evaluated and stressors which affect the workplace of selected group of Police of the Czech Republic are identified. Finally, the measures for their limitation are proposed.
Stress and Its Influence on a Performance at Work

This bachelor thesis deals with the problems of stress, focusing on working stress. The thesis concerns the basic terminology of stress, its division, the causes, consequences, and mentions the possibility of stress prevention. An important part of the thesis is a questionnaire survey in advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather. Topic of the questionnaire is The Stress and Its Impact on Performance at Work. Data from the questionnaire survey are evaluated by using software tatistica. It is analysed the impact of stress on performance at work and the influence of concrete stressors, relation between incidence of stress and levels of education, based on the obtained and evaluated data from the questionnaire. This bachelor thesis also concentrates on areas of stress in the context of gender differences and other factors, which have an influence on the stress.

The diploma thesis concentrates on the stress that the vast majority of employees face today. The thesis analyzes the various types of stress, its indication and manifestation. Furthemore, the factors that contribute to stress, their identification and elimination are also discussed. The focus of the thesis is on the theoretical analyzis of the problems. Moreover, it measures the stressors on the workplace, too. Specifically, it evaluates the level of stress in P&L spol. s.r.o. In the conclusion, the recommendations that decrease the detected stress factors are given.

In conclusion I have suggested proposals leading to stress reduction on this workplace.

The thesis is focused on the factors causing stress, their identification and reduction of the company. The theoretical part is focused on theoretical analysis of the problems. The practical part is devoted to the measurement of stressors in the working environment for catering JHREST s.r.o. employees. The work conclusion includes a proposal of the stress factors reduction in the company.

The Master´s thesis „Stress evaluation, coping and reduction” deals with a very up-to-date subject of employees stress. It analyzes stress types, development, symptoms and influence on health and work results of employees. It also concentrates on factors which evoke the stress, their identification and elimination in corporate environment. The first part of my thesis focuses on theoretical analysis of the above-mentioned issues. Second, practical part deals with the process of finding and evaluting stress factors in a logistic company and its employees. Final part focuses on project of elimination of stress and its factors in the company.
