Attitudes to Czech Youth Towards Parentage
GRÉZLOVÁ, Aneta
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out what attitude Czech young adults have towards parenthood. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, the period of youth, the characteristics of parenthood, family and marriage are defined with the help of professional literature. Attention is paid to the contemporary Czech family and its forms. Furthermore, alternative forms of cohabitation are discussed. In the practical part, there is the goal of the bachelor thesis, which is to find out what attitudes Czech young adults have towards parenthood. A qualitative research strategy has been chosen for the elaboration of the practical part. We will also find research questions through which it has been found out what ideas young people have about parenting; how important role marriage plays for today's young adults and what opinion they have on alternative forms of cohabitation. The method of questioning was chosen, where the data collection took place through a semi-structured interview. The sample consisted of young people ranging in age from 20 to 26, from the South Moravian Region. After obtaining the necessary data, the interviews were transcribed and then evaluated by means of cluster analysis. The research has revealed that parenthood is for today's young adults the embodiment of love, a new relationship is developed and experiences are transferred to a new generation, a person acquires a vision for the future, sees the success of his/her child in the growth of his/her life. Today's young people perceive marriage from a purely practical point of view, especially in easier communication in the authorities. Individuals of the young generation stated that it is not essential for them that the child be born into a marriage, they consider much more important the fact that the child grow up in a complete family. The research also showed that today's young adults have a positive attitude towards alternative forms of cohabitation.
Attitudes of Students of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice to planning parenthood
SOUKUPOVÁ, Edita
The Master's thesis deals with the issue of family planning among full-time male and female students of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. It examines their attitudes towards family planning and aims to determine the differences in views between men and women. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes graphs that show the development of aggregative and final fertility, birth rate, marriage and divorce rates. It also explains some important terms related to demography, family, parenthood and gender. Furthermore, it describes different modern forms of cohabitation. The practical part was carried out in the form of quantitative research; a method of questioning was used to collect the desired data. Data for hypothesis testing was gathered using a questionnaire technique. The questionnaire was distributed to male and female students of the University of South Bohemia via the study departments of individual faculties during February 2020. The questionnaire survey examined the attitudes of male and female students towards family planning and marriage as well as their attitudes to family policy. Microsoft Excel 2007 was used to process the obtained data, and STATISTICA EN 13 was employed to test the established hypothesis. Two hypothesis were formulated. Hypothesis 1: "More than half of the full-time male and female students at the University of South Bohemia would like to become parents." This hypothesis was confirmed based on the quantitative research. Most male and female students at the University of South Bohemia do plan to have children. Hypothesis 2: "Full-time female students at the University of South Bohemia plan to have more children than full-time male students." This hypothesis was disproved. The results of testing this hypothesis showed that there is no significant difference between men and women studying full-time at the University of South Bohemia regarding the number of children they plan to have. The results show that, although male and female students at the University of South Bohemia currently focus mainly on their studies, parenthood is important to them and they would like to become parents in the future. Furthermore, the results indicate that there is no difference between male and female students at the University of South Bohemia regarding the number of children they plan to have in the future.

Marriage can act as a foundation stone for creating home and solid background that each and every one of us needs. Next to marriage there are other types of partner cohabitations. For example unmarried cohabitation, registered partnership, separate cohabitation etc. These types are together with other chapters (family, divorce, social work with family during divorce etc.) described in theoretical part of thesis. The goal of this thesis was finding out meaning of marriage to students of Health and Social and Science Faculty of South Bohemian University and furthermore finding out position of these students towards marriage from gender perspective. Quantitative strategy and method of questioning with creation of my own questionnaire was used as a research of my thesis. Two hypotheses were set for finding out these goals. MS Excel was used for evaluating data gained from descriptive statistics and statistical program IBM SPSS was used for statistical evaluation of both hypotheses. A two sample T-test was used for testing of hypothesis number 1 and hypothesis number 2 was tested by binominal test. First hypothesis examined if marriage has greater importance for male or for female students and second hypothesis examined if students prefer unmarried cohabitation over marriage. The results showed that marriage has almost identical importance for male and female students and also that students prefer marriage over unmarried cohabitation. These findings can contribute to different statistics or they can be used in sociology of family lessons.
Views of primary school teachers on unmarried cohabitation
HLAVÍNOVÁ, Bára
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out how primary school teachers perceive unmarried cohabitation in general and how they perceive alternative forms of family ties in their pupils. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to family, marriage and unmarried cohabitation. The practical part presents the results of qualitative research, which is carried out in the form of interviews. The main research question is: What are the effects of unmarried cohabitation on the child that educators anticipate and what are they not? The research group consists of primary school teachers. The results of the research showed that primary school teachers do not condemn unmarried cohabitation, but most support the traditional model of family organization. Teachers agree that if the family creates feelings of security, security, belonging and loving relationships for the child, it is no longer decisive in which union the partners live. Furthermore, the results of the research showed that according to teachers, unmarried cohabitation can have an effect on the child, especially on a child of older school age. According to educators, unmarried cohabitation has an effect on the psyche, there is a worsening of benefits and educational problems. A child of younger school age is not even aware of the unmarried cohabitation of his parents and does not have a negative effect on him in terms of harmonious cohabitation.

Stolleová, Nela ; Hendrychová, Michaela (advisor) ; Šustek, Petr (referee)
Comparison of Czech and Slovak regulation of legal consequences of the dissolution of marriage The topic of the diploma thesis is the legal consequences of the dissolution of marriage. The consequences of the dissolution of marriage are examined in two legal regulations, Czech and Slovak, and at the same time compared. The individual ways of marriage dissolution are discussed on an ongoing basis. The work consists of an introduction, five chapters, which are further divided into subchapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the concept of marriage, its purpose, functions and obligations, and the rights arising from it. The second chapter deals with the historical development of the legal regulation of the dissolution of marriage. Both in the territory of today's Czech Republic and the territory of today's Slovak Republic, from the 18th century to the current legal status. It is not without interest that while for a long time the two legal regulations were separated from each other, ie they were completely different, a relatively long period of joint legal development followed, so that after the division of the Czechoslovakia the two legal regulations diverged again. Every dissolution of marriage necessarily has certain legal consequences, which differ to some extent precisely...

Hejduková, Lucie ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Wirthová, Jitka (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the attitudes of religious and non-religious high school students towards the possible marriage of same-sex couples. The theoretical part focuses on the process of emancipation of homosexuals up to the present, when the discussion of this issue is a current topic both in society and in the political sphere. The respondents' openness to homosexual marriage is viewed, among other things, through the lens of their religious beliefs. The research group consists of six male and female students of Prague grammar schools, of which three respondents are Christian and three are non-religious. In the form of a semi-structured interview, the study finds out to what extent the respondents are open to the legalization of gay marriage, whether they agree with using the term marriage also for same- sex couples, and what role their religious beliefs play in their opinion on the issue. The results of the study show that five out of six interviewed respondents see the lack of registered partnership as unequal rights compared to the institution of marriage. All religious respondents comment on the nature of homosexuality and the need to increase the rights of homosexual couples. They justify their attitudes due to the influence of the Christian upbringing that was provided to them in the...
The enforcement of same sex marriage through the lens of multiple streams framework
Pluhař, Filip ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This thesis aims to describe and explain the process of advocating for an amendment to the Civil Code that would legalize same-sex marriage in the Czech Republic. This proposal which was introduced to the Chamber of Deputies in 2018 had never been approved. The current legislation allows gays and lesbians to enter into a registered partnership with limited rights compared to the institution of marriage. The thesis should identify the arguments and strategies used by the same-sex marriage policy entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it aims to find the reasons which led to the rejection of the proposed amendment. The perspective of Multiple streams framework is applied to the whole issue. Analysis is based mainly on the findings obtained from the interviews with policy entrepreneurs and the deputies who voted on the amendment. Transcripts of the Chamber of Deputies proceedings and media outputs were used as secondary data. The results show in which cases were the entrepreneurs successful and at which stage of the process the opposite was true. The thesis then describes possible reasons that led to the failure and attempts to justify why certain strategies and arguments were ineffective and did not convince the deputies - decision makers.
