Czech Provinces and their Development in the Historical Geographical Context

Regional administration in Bohemia originated already in the Middle Ages and has survived till these days as an basic constituent of the state administration. Cartographical material, especially maps of provinces, which has been so far rather neglected, is very interesting and important source for the cognition of the development of Czech provinces. These maps have been issued since the 18th century and especially in the earlier period had been widely used by general public. The only list of these documents "Soupis map českých zemí" compiled by František Roubík provides outdated and inconsistent informations. The primary aim of this work is to provide a more detailed list of these maps in the form of a catalog and bring more informations on the various creators and publishers of the maps.

Development of the intensity of alcohol-related mortality in regions of the Czech Republic in 1994-2009

The Development of the intensity of alcohol-related mortality in regions of the Czech Republic in 1994-2009 Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the development of the intensity of alcohol-related mortality in regions of the Czech Republic in 1994-2009. Three categories of causes of death related to alcohol are selected according to the classification chosen. The author analyses the intensity of mortality from all causes alcohol-related mortality, from cause of death of alcoholic liver disease and from external causes of death related to alcohol. She concludes that the level of mortality from all causes alcohol-related mortality and external causes of death related to alcohol improves whereas the level of mortality from cause of death of alcohol liver disease worsens. From the results of the analysis it follows that the areas with the highest intensity of mortality related to alcohol are eastern Moravia and north-western Bohemia. Změny v rozsahu a struktuře rostlinné výroby v ČR po vstupu do EU

The aim is to identify and analyze general trends in the extent and structure of plant production in the Czech Republic after joining the EU, including regional differences. Theoretical basis were defined within using in the literature review. Main groups of factors, which shape the agrarian sector size and crop production structure, are identified on the basis of this review. Within the analysis of the years 1993 - 2013 of the selected plant commodities, European Union, Member States and the world were analyzed. Czech Republic and its regions were analyzed within the analysis of the years 1993 - 2013 of the selected plant commodities. Analyses are conducted on selected plant commodities are wheat, barley, corn, rape, potatoes and sugar beets.

Identifikace faktorů regionálního rozvoje v krajích ČR

The bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of individual regions in the Czech Republic from the economic, environmental and social point of view. It deals with the assessment of the dependencies between selected indicators within the individual aspects by using the determination index. The relationship between the gross domestic product and the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in the economic pillar. The calculations show GDP (i.e. the Gross Domestic Product) is influenced the most by the tertiary sector in all regions, which is a confirmation of the Sector theory. This sector is further discussed in the thesis in detail. The individual regions are different in the strongest relationship between the GDP (i.e. Gross Domestic Product) and the services. The observed values within the environmental pillar show that the investment into air and climate protection according to the investor's residence is closely related to sulphur dioxide pollution. In the social pillar there dependency has been found between the GDP (i.e. Gross Domestic Product) and unemployment. This dependency was different in various regions. Recommendations were written in the conclusion on the basis of the ascertained results to give clues to the regions how to adapt their behaviour in some areas to achieve better results in the economic, environmental and social spheres in the future.

The subject of the thesis is an analysis of selected demographic and economic indicators of the Slovak Republic as well as for individual regions between 2003 and 2013. The analysis of the Slovak Republic was divided into three main parts: a demographic analysis of population and its structure by age, gender and economic groups. The next part deals with the analysis of selected economic indicators for particular regions. In the last part there is cluster analysis and its results are compared with the results of the convergence analysis.

Design a strategic board game explaining demography

Demography is a field of study primarily related to the population reproduction . The aim of the thesis is to design a strategic board game explaining demography to the public in an entertaining way. The first chapter focuses on the basic concepts and demographic features. In the second chapter regions are compared in terms of mortality, live births, abortions, marriages, divorces, immigrants and emigrants. The regions are compared from 2004 to 2014. Only the year 2014 is graphically depicted. The chart also showns comparison with the average of the Czech Republic. The third chapter is only supportive to the game design. It defines what a game is, what its purpose is and what a board game is. The last chapter introduces the design of the board game itself. It contains the game rules, game logic and the purpose of the game. There is a graphic design of the game depicted as well.

Territorial diferenciance fertility in the Czech Republic

Abstract The main purpose of this following report is to describe and compare the development of fertility and abortions indicators in a particular time and than evaluate regional differences of these indicators in all the regions of Czech Republic. These regions will be than deliminated into several groups based on the similarity of the developement of fertility and abortions. The first part of this report is mainly focused on explanation of basic terms, delimination of indicators and description of the methods of adjusting these indicators. Second part describes the developement of aggregate fertility and abortions indicators and also specific levels of fertility and abortions since the beginning of 1990's. Third part is dedicated to delimination of Czech Republic regions after the NUTS classification and to the following analysis of fertility and abortions indicators in several regions of Czech Republic. These regions are than deliminated into several groups according the similarity of developments.

The impact of unemployment on a number of rapes in The Czech Republic

In my thesis I explore the impact of unemployment on a number of rapes in The Czech Republic. I use annual panel data of The Czech Republic for districts and regions for the period 2005 - 2011. I want to prove the hypothesis about positive correlation between the number of rapes and the unemployment rate. The second question is whether this dependence is more significant in the case of unemployment rate of men. The analysis was based on panel data by ordinary least squares. I found a positive relationship between basic variables in terms of district but not in the case of regions. I did not find significant effect of the unemployment rate of men.

Regional disparities in the use of graduates in the labor markets in the regions NUTS 3 of the Czech Republic

This master thesis focuses on the issues of application of the graduates in the labor market. The main objective is to identify and evaluate disparities in the use of graduates in the labor markets in the regions NUTS 3 of the Czech Republic. To fulfill the main objectives and targets have been selected the partial targets namely: the recent development of the quantity of universities and their students from 1989 to the present, the current location of universities in the regions NUTS 3 and the development of graduates over time and according to type of university degree, programs disciplines and gender. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of basic concepts, application of the relation of education to individuals in the labor market and educational system in the Czech Republic and especially is devoted to tertiary education. The practical part consists of analyzes of trends in the number of graduates from different perspectives andanalyzesthe applicationof universitygraduates,such as the analysis of supply and demand for university graduates and the amount of their income. Because of the result of analysis was possible to identify and evaluate a number of regional differences in the use of graduates in the labor markets in the regions NUTS 3. The differences are formulated at the end of the master thesis.
