Jeřábková, Anežka ; Šánová, Lucie (advisor) ; Kofroň, Jan (referee)
The primary aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce an approach of Denmark to incorporation of descendants of immigrants from non-Western countries into society through the integration policy, and to further evaluate this policy. Concerning such matter, it should be established whether it is possible to transfer some of the Danish experience with the integration of second generation immigrants to the conditions and environment in the Czech Republic. Both countries are therefore initially compared, especially regarding their immigration history, current situation, government policies and structure of institutions dealing with immigration and integration. Then thesis further examines Danish integration policy for the descendants of immigrants, its basic objectives and means of implementation. Additionally, some of the tools that have been proven successful are described. In conclusion, it is possible to state that Denmark can serve as an inspiration for the whole integration process, rather than to use only some of its unique tools separately. For open and rigorous approach to the integration of children of immigrants, Denmark remains one of the leading countries in promoting intercultural dialogue throughout the society.

The diploma thesis Integration Courses: Last Stage of Swedish Efforts to Incorporate Immigrants analyzes integration arrangements in the context of the evolution of Swedish integration policies. Through theoretical models of incorporation the author argues that use of these courses is a consequence of various factors with a lack of immigrants' incorporation and increasing welfare state activation as the most significant. The process of welfare state activation does not focus exclusively on the immigrants, nevertheless, in the policy area of immigrant integration some of the activation features are most visible. The modern state delegates much more duties on individuals who can not rely on its protecting hands as they were used to earlier. As the state requires more from all its citizens, immigrants are expected to strive for their integration more pro-actively. The participation in the integration courses belongs to one of the duties the immigrants must accept. The Swedish approach is, however, a bit specific, since the courses' participation is not mandatory for all immigrants but a targeted group of newcomers. Moreover, the courses differ considerably from the general tendency in Western Europe with their stressed focus on labour-market related integration measures. Together with a language...

Lacková, Dominika ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Němcová, Ingeborg (referee)
In general, migration is one of the most important global challenges. The topic of regulating migration flows came to the fore in relation to the current Europe's migration, or more precisely, refugee crisis. It has been described as the most massive migrant's crisis since the WW2. Unprecedented influx of immigrants and refugees in 2015 resulted in that even the best prepared European countries, such as Sweden, have reached a tipping point with regard to respect EU standards related to reception and processing of asylum applications. Master thesis covered two main analyses - the relevance of the refugee crisis in the EU in regards to the Swedish welfare state and the subsequent implications arising from the refugee crisis for the Swedish welfare state.
