How secondary school pupils solve metric problems in 3D geometry

The aim of this thesis is to gain a deeper understanding of how high school students solve tasks in three-dimensional metric space. All of the selected tasks are solvable using similarity. Since this is not the only way to solve these problems, I also observe the procedures and strategies that students employ whilst solving them. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I define the basic terms and deal with difficulties which might occur while solving the selected problems. I also describe the expected outcomes of stereometry teaching in curricular documents. In the practical part, I firstly analyse the way certain metric problems are solved in high school textbooks. Then I describe how I did my research, in which 12 students participated. As my method for conducting the research I chose to interview the students about their solutions to the selected tasks in order to obtain enough information about the challenges that the students have in solving these problems and to observe the strategies they use. In the closing section of this thesis, I summarize the procedures which high school students use to solve metric problems, as well as the difficulties that some students had. Interpretation of fairy tales Alice in Wonderland

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the explanation of the concept of art therapy, on the topic of personal identity and its development. The thesis also focuses on the function of fantasy and its application in dreams and imagination. In the theoretical part there is a chapter about symbols and archetypes including their explanation and possibilities for using in relation to the theme of the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland. There is also a comparison of the book version and filmed version of the story. The thesis contains a detailed analysis of the pictures including interview with three participants of the research on the topic of Alice in Wonderland, also the analysis of the pictures, that were artistically worked by members of three different age groups. The aim to find out what personal themes are opened up to clients, what is the usage of the active imagination and what symbols are used in the artistic works, that all based on the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland.
Reading as Psychotherapy and the Role of Imagination in the Work of Catherine Storr

The aim of the bachelor thesis is a detailed analysis of Marianne Dreams by Catherine Storr focusing on the psychological meaning and therapeutic role of children's literature. The theoretical part of the thesis connects the issues of fantasy literature and psychology with respect to the role of psychotherapy, which is related to the escape from the reality, liberation through imagination, as well as the topics such as time travel and dreams travel. Particular attention is paid to the personal, literary and professional experience of the writer and psychologist Catherine Storr. The literary analysis of the novel, which links reality with fantasy, deals with the following issues: the portraits of the child and adult characters, the relationships between children, the role of particular motifs (bicycle, one-eyed stones, grid, etc.) and themes (illness, liberation, etc.). The conclusion sums up the representation of traumatic experience, recovery and renewal, and the moral meaning of the story. The thesis includes a questionnaire research dealing with the parents reading to their children, inspired by Catherine Storr's ideas and related to the importance of passing literature to children. This online questionnaire is processed through graphs.
The Creative Work with Association in Experimental Art Activities at 1. Grade of Primary School

The topic of the thesis is the use of association in art activities at the 1st grade of primary school. The content of the theoretical part provides an insight into association from the point of view of psychology and the use of association in art. The thesis also discusses art movements and artists who have either consciously or unconsciously used association in their works. It is also conveniently followed by a search of methodological resources that describe the work with association in art activities at the first level of primary school. The practical part is then devoted to the realization and reflection of the art series inspired by the mentioned authors and techniques.
Imaginative apologetics

The focus of this thesis lies in the cooperation of imagination and apologetics, which - if succesful - can be a step towards meaningful sharing of the gospel. Imagination as a way of perception of meaning can also be a useful tool in today's world, which seems to lose interest in meaning whatsoever. We seem to find a representative case of imaginative apologetics in the works of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien and Dorothy L. Sayers. Using imaginative way, these authors deal with many apologetical issues in their stories. The need for a good quality work of imaginative apologetics seems even more valid, when we learn that many atheistic and agnostic authors use imaginative ways to defend ideology of their own; this thesis deals namely with Philip Pullman, whose work could be marked as work of agnostic imaginative apologetics.

Cultural Imagination: The Science Fiction Genre Impact upon Our Mental Concepts of the Future

This diploma thesis deals with the study of the collective imagination. It studies and observes variable linkages between spectator as well as productive imagination to the cultural environment, as they occur during the second half of the twentieth century, overlapping into the twenty-first century. The primary areas of research are predominantly literary and film works of the science fiction genre. The research is conducted using mainly discoursive analysis method, however, the thesis has its theoretical groundings in media studies, partly also in the fields of political theory, in the theory of fictional worlds, intercultural studies and philosophy of science. Employed approaches are purposefully tied to more or less closed case studies, which form the thematic content of individual chapters.
Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education

3 TITLE: Ways of creativity development in elementary mathematics education SUMMARY: This thesis deals with creativity - from a general concept to a more specific perspective - creativity in mathematics lessons and textbooks at elementary schools in relation to the curriculum method and transformation of a number of textbooks towards unique teaching methods. The aim of this thesis is to describe the current situation on a selected sample of experimental groups - elementary school classes (two of them second year and three of them fourth year) which specialize on integration of pupils with specific learning and behavioral disabilities as well as extraordinarily talented pupils and thus provide the broadest possible range of pupils, which enables to find possible links between the used methods and creative teaching approach including creating one's own teaching materials and consequently searching for possible ways to develop creativity of pupils in relation to used methods, textbooks, other materials and forms of work. This thesis uses the following research methods: quantitative and qualitative research, empirical methods - observation, description, analysis. Playing in the philosophical and pedagogical reflection

Diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of games in pedagogy, its philosophical basis and its role in language acquisition. It is divided into three parts. In the theoretical part, there is defined a game from the philosophical point of view and its understanding by various authors. The second part deals with the specifics of didactic and language game in general. The practical part brings the specific case of teaching a child who is a foreigner. It also expresses the contribution of such games in pedagogy and teaching the Czech language.
