Didactical situations for teaching functions at the lower secondary level
Krůtová, Michaela ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
This thesis deals with the possible way to use the Theory of didactic situations in the second level of Czech primary schools. The main topic of the experiment is the introduction of functions in the 9th grade of primary schools. The entire work is divided into two parts - theoretical and experimental. The theoretical part is focused on introduction of the Theory of didactic situations and processing the topic in the educational materials used in the Czech Republic. It also deals with the historical development of the topic of functions in the Czech curricula. In this context, the author conducted a survey, the purpose of which was primarily the view of a primary school mathematics teacher on teaching of functions and on changes that recently accompany the Czech school system. In the experimental part, the author presents detailed information about the educational block processed and implemented according to the principles of the Theory of didactic situations. The aim of the experiment was to watch the reaction of students to the concept of teaching according to the Theory of didactic situations and to evaluate their success in relation to the desired outcomes of the topic. The thesis describes the preparation, progress and evaluation of the prepared educational unit.
Summer musical events and their impact on everyday life in the village Lesná
Hájková, Anna ; Kandert, Josef (advisor) ; Svobodová, Ludmila (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on summer musical events (in Czech "parket") and membership of volunteer fire-fighters and their impact on everyday life in village Lesná. The expression "parket" can have more meanings according to the context. Firstly it is designation for summer dance events or concerts, secondly it is designation for the place in the village where these events take place. This paper is based on literature dealing with the influence of local culture and societies on village community which led author to identify several possible functions this events and volunteer fire-fighters membership may have within the structure. The reviewed version of Merton's functional analysis is used to define the functions. These functions are functions of integration and socialisation, functions connected to voluntary work and educational function, function of this events as a place of increased social control, function of revitalization and stabilisation, function of formation, transmission and preservation of traditions, entertainment and compensatory function, function or dysfunction of conflicts, gaining a higher social status and political power in village and economical function. The research part of this paper is based on qualitative research methods as semi- structured interviews, participant...
5- Minutes Neighbourhood
Uhrová, Veronika ; Urbášková,, Hana (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor)
The aim of my thesis was the design of a new urban structure, located in the existing buildings by the river Svitava inZvonařkaStreet, near the center of the city. My proposaladded to the existing urban character of the area and added it to the missing block development. This location has become an attractive area for the whole region, which offers a wide range of new jobs in services, administration, education, healthcare and a number of residential units for different social groups. The proposed multi-purpose building uses plot in the urban area and is designed as a selfcontained. It reduces transportation and cumulates more diverse functions in one place. It follows the surrounding urban areas. West facade respects the existing street line the MasnáStreet and its height fits the surrounding buildings. When forming materials, some spatial structuring principleswere used, namely: multiplicity, porosity and connectivity.
Functions and curves hidden in pictures
STRATULAT, Elena
This bachelor thesis named Functions and curves hidden in pictures is a collection of interesting tasks divided into six work sheets, which are focused on the graphical representation of different functions and curves into the coordinate system Oxy. The results of these tasks are pictures formed in the mathematical program GeoGebra, shown at the end of each work sheet. Part of bachelor thesis is also illustrative, solved exercise in mathematical program GeoGebra.
Výrazové prvky současné architektury
Kokolia Křížová, Iveta
In the recent years, the process of architectural design has been evolving in a number of different ways, as it has always been the case. The goal, however, remains the same - to design a quality architecture. New forms and architectural elements have also emerged with the advent of modern technologies. What are the defined facts that enter into design and reveal the boundary between high-quality architecture and mere „building“? What signs could define the current period?
Citation management software: functional analysis and comparison of selected applications
Niederlová, Petra ; Drobíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Souček, Martin (referee)
This work provides an overview of selected citation managers currently used in the Czech Republic and compared their functions. In the comparison group, the application will be represented both commercial and freely available applications. In the group of freely available applications the Zotero and Mendeley will be compared, the paid ones will be represented by Endnote, RefWorks and CitacePro. The comparison is based on the individual features of citation managers, such as the interface for entering records, import records from other sources, sorting into folders, export options to different formats, etc. Further parameters will be compared as the language support, online availability or user support.
Didactics of teaching hyperbolic functions for secondary schools
Kokeš, Dalibor ; Kvasz, Ladislav (advisor) ; Pilous, Derek (referee)
It is very unlikely to see at Czech high school in mathematics classes teaching the hyperbolic functions and their inverses. It's a pity, this could be a great opportunity to review and refresh the polynomial, rational, trigonometric and exponential function methods and skills. These functions even set an implicit connection between the exponential and gonio- metric functions, too. The aim of this thesis is to offer an alternative to the usual practice at the ordinary high schools and it is adopted to a limited schooling time available. Our approach has been successfully tested with a group of students at a small high school in the Czech borderland. The thesis also indicates the potential to expand this approach if more schooling time should have been available or more talented students should have been involved.
Pragmatic and stylistic aspects of expressions of futurality in professional economic text and their didactic consequences
Mikuláš, Martin ; Pípalová, Renata (advisor) ; Povolná, Renata (referee) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
The dissertation surveys the use of expressions of futurality in professional economic texts (the linguistic part). In addition, it investigates didactic aspects of futurality in the process of English as a second language acquisition, focusing on undergraduates in the study programme B 6208 - Economy and Management (the didactic part). The topic was chosen on the basis of the author's empirical experience and the results of pre-tests in the target group. The research is based on a corpus-based linguistic study. Seven representative monographs written by native speakers were selected as a source of relevant information about the use of futural constructions in a written economic text. All the sources were explored by means of corpus query software and instances of selected futural constructions (will, shall, be going to, be about to, be on the point of, be (due) to and the present tense) were excerpted. Functions of the futural constructions were elaborted on the basis of the numerous excerpts and confronted with English for specific (economic) purpose textbooks that are used widely at Czech economic universities. To prove or disaprove their mutual interdependence, the correlation of general language and specific language proficiencies of undergraduates from two universities was measured....
Websites in teaching mathematics focused on linear equations and functions
Kloučková, Jana ; Mošna, František (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
1 Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to create websites focused on teaching linear equations and functions and verify their utility from the perspective of pupils and selected teachers. Websites are one of the form called E-learning. Therefore, the thesis deals not only with websites but also with the e-learning. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is mainly based on selected literature search and analysis of textbooks from the point of view of linear equations and functions. The practical part is about creating own website and about qualitative research implemented at the basic schools in Obříství and Neratovice. The research was conducted through questionnaires, which were enriched by interviews with selected pupils and teachers. It was found that pupils and teachers consider these created websites beneficial. The List of the strengths and weaknesses of the websites, as well as the possibilities for its improvement are one part of the thesis results. Keywords: websites, e-learning, linear equations, functions, models of implementation linear equations
