Part of the work is the evaluation of the results and benefits of the work.
Automatic table distillation column
Ružička, Michal ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
The semester thesis deals with the issue of alcohol distillation and analysis for understanding at the level for construction of the facility itself. It deals with the requirements for the distillation equipment and parameters that may affect the quality of the distillate. On the basis of which is created automated control by microcontroller. This apparatus is exposed to tests and measurements of the required values during distillation. The cooling unit was also built and measured.
Characterization of intermediates and waste products of some fermentation productions
Kilian, David ; Skoumalová, Petra (referee) ; Márová, Ivana (advisor)
This bachcelor thesis was aimed on characterisation of intermediate and waste products of some fermentation productions. The theoretical part of this thesis is aiming on characterization of raw material and its fermentation, process of distillation, waste product and introduction of main active components of all these intermediates. In the experimental part were characterized intermediates and products regarding the contents of sugar, ethanol and polyphenol. All these extracts contain particular levels of polyphenol and sugar corresponding to individual phases of fruit distillates production. The chemical characteristics of extracts from different phases of fruit distillates production were compared. Parameters as total phenolics, flavonoids, glucose, fructose and ethanol were evaluated. Subsequently the changes between individual phases were described. In conclusion, a solution of further use of waste products formed during fruit fermentation process was suggested.
Numerical simulation of flow in superpak family packings
Smutek, J. ; Isoz, Martin
The distillation is currently the most energy-intensive technology of the chemical industry. Commonly, the distillation is performed in the columns lled with a structured packing. Structured packings are complex structures used to increase the size of the interface available for the mass transfer. Because of the high complexity of both the packings and the physical phenomena occurring during the distillation, the design of the distillation columns is still based mostly on empirical data. In this work, we concentrate on modeling the gas ow in the SuperPak family of structured packings. First, we propose an algorithm for automatic generation\nof the packing geometry. Next, we construct and validate a three-dimensional computational uid dynamics (CFD) model of gas ow through SuperPak 250.Y and SuperPak 350.Y packings. The model validation is done by comparing experimental data of dry pressure losses to the values computed by our model. The obtained di erence between the CFD estimates and experiments is bellow 10 %. Finally, we present a parametric study of the SuperPak 250.Y packing geometry. The devised modeling approach may be easily automated and used for optimization of the SuperPak type packing geometry with respect to the gas ow. Furthermore,\nthe proposed CFD model may be extended to account for the multiphase ow.
Influence of the temperature on the preparing of asphalt mixtures with higher amount of RAP
Škrobáček, Petr ; Koudelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the preparation of the reclaimed asphalt pavement for production of asphalt mixtures. In the thesis there is investigated the effect of the temperature of preparation the reclaimed asphalt pavement on the characteristic of the bitumen content. In the theoretical part there is described bitumen as such and reclaimed asphalt pavement. In the practical part there is described the preparation of the material for laboratory tests. The next step is the extraction and distillation of bitumen. These bitumens are tested according to depredescribed tests: ‘Determination of needle penetration (ČSN EN 1426)’, ‘The softening point (ČSN EN 1427)’ and ‘Dynamic shear rheometer’. In the last section of this bachelor thesis there is a comparison of the individual properties of the rendered bitumen of the asphalt mixtures of reclaimed asphalt pavement, with the aim of evaluating temperatures of preheating and degradation of the bitumen on the final characteristic of the asphalt mixtures witch higher quantity reclaimed asphalt pavement. The measured values of the temperature for preparation of reclaimed asphalt pavement shows that the temperature of the asphalt mixture before production has a significant effect on the characteristics of the bitumen, which is included in the reclaimed asphalt pavement. There is evident the difference between specimen of the asphalt mixture of reclaimed asphalt pavement and the reclaimed asphalt pavement. It is visible only from the bottom layer too.
Utilization of waste heat from rectification
Frank, Vojtěch ; Konečná, Eva (referee) ; Touš, Michal (advisor)
The purpose of the thesis is to draw up a model of the energy and material balance using technical and technological analysis of the current state of production of waste heat in the process of distillation. Using these results, subsequently evaluate the energy potential of individual streams and propose optimal energy savings using waste heat. Emphasis is placed on the modelling of the process and the various proposed savings options. The result is also an evaluation of the potential of the proposed savings based on the results of the calculation.
Batches for the the distillation column
Pleva, Damián ; Knobloch, Tomáš (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The goals of this bachelor’s thesis are to get acquainted with the laboratory model of the distillation column and the control PLC. Then create literature search of standard 88. And finally to design, implement and test a batch-controlled program for distillation column.
Wireless communication between remote PLC and lab model
Maléř, Martin ; Šír, Michal (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to establish wireless communication between programmable logic controller (PLC) used in laboratory model of a distillation column and PLC, which controls the technological process. Industry bus ModBus TCP/IP and wireless modules in client-server mod was chosen to reach this goal. To control the technological process was created visualization. At the finish of the work everything was tested.
Vacuum evaporation efficiency improvement
Havlásek, Martin ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
This thesis is focused on experimental work in the domain of vacuum evaporation efficiency improvement. The first part introduces theory of liquids evaporation and its influencing factors, then multi-stage flash distillation technology. The next part of theory is an overview of other technologies used for desalination of sea water and introduction to the design of experiments. In the practical part are selected factors affecting efficiency of device and experiment plan is designed for them. When the experiment is done, optimal operating conditions of technology are designed on basis of analysis.
