Changes in foot arch form in hemodialysis patients

Chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment affect the musculoskeletal system and functional capacity patients. This work assesses the effect with a focus on changes in the structure and function of the foot. The theoretical part deals with the issue of chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment. It presents evidence of the influence of some internal diseases on the foot, in order to better understand the changes taking place in the examined probands. It describes pathological changes, that affect functional capacity of the examined probands. The practical part assesses the effect of chronic renal failure and dialysis treatment on the height of longitudinal foot arch, gait stereotype and postural stability of 30 patients from the dialysis center Fresenius Medical Care - DS, s.r.o. and FN Motol.

This bachelor thesis focuses in the theoretical background on research of an early adulthood, health definitions, health determinants and mostly on physical activity. It also brings a research of results from pedometer determined PA studies. The study assessed the PA of 39 female students of teaching for Primary School. The PA of the students was objectively monitored with the Yamax SW-700 pedometer. The INDARES.COM questionnaire was used to assess sport preferences.
Movement activity of vegetarian men

The bachelor's thesis entitled Physical activity of vegetarian men consists of two parts. In the first, theoretical part, I discuss men, vegetarianism and physical activity. I focus on the concept of vegetarianism as such, the division of vegetarians, the motivation to become a vegetarian, the history of vegetarianism. In the next chapter I deal with a man, his personality, gender issue and in the third chapter I deal with physical activity. The aim of this work was to determine the level of physical activity in a specific group of men who can be described as vegetarians. Data on physical activity were obtained by questionnaires of physical activity IPAQ-long and weekly monitoring with a pedometer repeated two times. The results, which were measured and processed are compared with the results of measurements in an equally large group of men, but they eat in a conventional way. 34 men eating vegetarian and 34 men eating normally were contacted. Research has shown that vegetarian men have a lower BMI than non-vegetarian men, but no significantly higher levels of physical activity have been demonstrated.
Flat feet occurrence in a younger school age

The following bachelor thesis deals with the issue of flat feet in children of younger school age. Nowadays, flat feet happen to be the most common deformity in children which may be diagnosed by using several methods. One of them is the indexing method which counts the size (toes not included) and the width of the foot in the 5th base metatarsus area. Some systems are able to evaluate a specific type of foot using a particular software. This thesis aims to observe one specific type of foot among a selected group of younger school-aged children. Using a pressure platform, this thesis deals with finding out the percentage occurrence of flat feet. The thesis also focuses on the relationship between the prevalence of flatfoot and BMI. In order to collect the data, Footscan (RS Scan, Belgium) was used. The measuring was undertaken by 32 third grade children from an elementary school in Brandýs (N = 32, age = 9,66 ± 0,68; weight = 32,55± 8,29 kg; height = 137,09 ± 8,05; BMI = 17,02 ± 3,58). The children were divided into three groups according to their foot deformities (natural, flat, high arch). Out of the whole group, there were 13 children (40,6 %) with normal feet, 16 children with flat feet (50 %), and 3 children with a high arch (9,4 %). Title The effect of wearing high heel shoes on pelvis motion Aim of the thesis The main aim of this thesis is the verification of the influence of wearing high heel shoes on pelvis motion in the sagittal plane, while walking on high heel shoes and walking on heel less shoes. After then, we want to monitori the impact of walking in these shoes on the trajectory of pelvis motion. Methods Objectification method was 3D record of human gait (= kinematic analysis), which was performed using the Qualisys Track Manager. In our thesis we used the method of comparison. The aim of the study is the comparison of parameters measured in different types of shoes (high heeled shoes, high heeled less shoes with barefoot gait) and the influence on pelvis motion in the sagittal plane. Measurements were carried out in the gym at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at ten probands. Results Pelvis tilt to retroversion was more significant when walking on heel less shoes compared with high heel shoes and barefooted walking, also an angle of the trunk and pelvis were most significantly diminished when walking on heel less shoes compared to barefooted walking and high heel shoes. An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game

6 Abstract Title: An analysis of a basketball player's movement during the game Objectives: The aim of this work is to demonstrate that observation groups in the basketball game use a different number of movements and should therefore train separately. Methods: The basis of this empirical study is a quantitative research that uses the method of analysis and comparison. To obtain the data, I have analysed the most frequent movements carried out by players in the game. We have collected the number of movements per each second for each group. Observed group are: point guard, shooting guard and centers. Movements were described theoretically, biomechanically, technically, or by using rules. After that I have used the comparison to determine the differences, which were implemented into charts and qualified in detail. Results: A graphical representation of the number of movements confirmed the goal of our work. The biggest differences were found in specific movements, such as screens, acceleration, dribbling and crossover dribble. It turned out that the primary movements, such as standing or walking occupy over 50% of the match for each group. Neither group achieved the same result in any category. Author: Barbora Říhová Title: Kinematic Analysis of Gait in Patients with Hip Osteoarthrosis Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to analyse the gait patterns in probands with Stage III osteoarthritis of the hip joint, to compare these patterns with published norms and to confirm a set of pre-established hypotheses. Method: The thesis was designed as a case study, the purpose of which was to observe changes in the pelvis and trunk extension during gait, associated with significant degenerative changes in the hip joint. A total of 9 probands with Stage III osteoarthritis of the hip joint (6 females, 3 males) took part in the study. A complete physiotherapy assessment was carried out as part of the study. The temporal gait parameters were used to measure the probands' walking speed and relative stance phase duration. The following variables were measured in the frontal plane: lateral displacement of the pelvis and trunk toward the stance limb (cm) and pelvic obliquity toward the swing limb (degrees). A 3D motion analysis and evaluation of kinematic parameters were carried out using the Qualisys motion capture system device consisting of 6 infrared cameras. Influence upon Mobility in Relation to Spatial Orientation of Pupils in Primary and Upper Primary Schools for the Visually Impaired

The thesis is focused on spatial orientation and independent movement of visually impaired people. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the extent of straight direction deviations concerning visually impaired pupils of primary and lower secondary schools. After analysis of specialized literature a description of current educational system for visually impaired pupils in the Czech Republic follows in the theoretical part. Specific needs related to the field of education of this target group are mentioned. Functional limitation of the visual analyzer influences spatial orientation and independent movement of the visually impaired individual. Therefore the thesis deals with the above mentioned topic and characterises education of the subject called spatial orientation and independent movement. Troubles in the field of motoric movement occur in the group of visually impaired people. This is apparent especially in incorrect walking technique and in deviation from the required straight direction. The research part of the thesis analyses deviations from the straight direction of the visually impaired and intact pupils.
The effect of kinesiotaping for flat foot correction in association with selected parameters of gait for a specific group of people

Title: The effect of kinesiotaping for flat foot correction in association with selected parameters of gait for a specific group of people Objectives: The primary objective of this experiment was to determine whether and to what extent the application of kinesio tape to flat foot (utilising a functional correction technique) can influence the positioning of the specific segments of the body and thereby implement change to walking stereotype. Methods: Biomechanical measurement of the gait of eleven specifically selected people with the clinical symptoms of flat foot was implemented. First we recorded measurements prior to the intervention and then again, subsequent to the application of kinesio tape for a defined period. Probands retained the tape in place for the following four days and then the measuring was repeated both prior and subsequent to the removal of the tape. To determine any potential changes to the statics, initially the measuring of the postural stability prior to the intervention was first implemented in the experiment and subsequently again when the kinesio tape was removed after it had been worn for four days. This measurement was carried out using the Footscan apparatus (RSscan International, Belgium) and any potential differences in six variant modes of posture were determined....

Title: The effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait in patients with Multiple Sclerosis Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on gait in patients with multiple sclerosis using GAITRite and Timed 25-Foot Walk test (T25FW). Furthermore, we investigated the effect of rhythmic auditory stimulation on the patients' subjective perception of their gait using the standardised MSWS-12 questionnaire. Methods: Twenty-eight individuals were recruited for the study. The intervention group comprised 14 patients (2 men, 12 women, average age - 34 years) with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis of ≤ 6.0 on Kurtzke Expanded Disability Status Scale. The control group comprised 14 healthy individuals (2 men, 12 women, average age - 36 yrs). All recruited individuals must have been older than 18 years old. The intervention group walked for 20 minutes a day for 6 weeks while listening to rhythmic music with cadence set 15% higher than the cadence of their gait. The control group had no intervention. Individual gait parameters in both groups were measured before and after the 6 weeks using the GAITRite device.
