Contemporary Typography in the Context of Art Education

The aim of this study was to summarize the theoretical content of the Ty- pography/Writing lesson. The theoretical part focuses on world and the Czech typography in the 20th and 21st centuries. It summarizes its most important personalities and adds new ones that are not yet included in any publications about the evolution of typefaces. It also introduces the reader to current trends, events and publications. The theoretical part includes a recapitulation of the development of typography since the mid-15th cen- tury. The development includes key personalities and technological ad- vances. The didactic and practical part is based on the theoretical part. The didactic part is devoted to the search for connections in the field of typography in the curriculum framework. Afterwards, individual cur- ricula of secondary art schools with the educational field of graphic de- sign were examined and compared. The focus was on the time allocation to this subject. From the information gathered, a thematic block was suggested, treating the topic of contemporary typography consisting of three parts - explanation of theory, discussion and practical application. The goal of this thesis is to redesign the website of the Faculty of Information Technology (BUT) on the basis of analysis and user testing of the current website. The theoretical part deals with the iterative development of user interfaces, user-centered design and basics of the user experience design. The work also deals with possibilities of analysing and user testing of the user interfaces. The main part of the thesis consists of analysis and user testing of the current website and then designing the new one based on user research and regular user testing.

Research for brand identity Fit&Body

Title of Study: Research for brand identity Fit&Body Thesis Objectives: The main aim of this bachelor thesis is designing a definite sample of brand for studio, which offers massages and activities, wich are destinguished from the competion. Additionaly to that, the bachelor thesis sheds a light on competition analysis, analysis of the brand Fit&Body, conducting interviews with studio's clients, experts on branding and marketing and subsequent implementation of the findings into the process of building the brand based on the conducted research. Methods: In order to be reached the ultimate goal of the bachelor thesis the following methods have been applied: analysis of competition brands, analysis of building the brand Fit&Body, in-depth interviews. Thesis Results: Based on the interviews with clients and the experts, some of the brand features have been changed. The brand name has remained Fit&Body as well as the font. The original slogan "Aby záda nebolela." has been replaced by a new one: "Pro zdravá záda.". And only partially has been modified the logo. Authentic style of the logo remained the same, the red leaf with the sign "krása" has been removed and signs in the yellow and green leaves have been replaced by words "cvičení" and "masáže". Aleš Najbrt and his standing of Czech graphic design

This bachelor work consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part we will focus on the Czech graphical designer and typograph Aleš Najbrt and his contribution to Czech graphical design. Part of this work will be his work in contemporary context. Also, we will briefly comment on the history of graphical design. In the practical part this work will focus mainly on typography. The practical output of this bachelor work will be an author's font following its usage on a poster.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and create a user interface (UI) of information system of Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology which is based on analysis and user testing of current UI. The theoretical part describes UI creation, user friendly design, basic methods of user experience design and about user testing UI. Bachelor thesis focuses on implementation of a web UI or web frontend. The output of this thesis is user research, follow-up to design and implementation of new information system FIT interface based on user testing of the current information system.

Karel Teige's Book cover as a mirror of the avant-garde

The thesis deals with the issue of linking visual representation of a literary work of art, especially with the connection of Karel Teige typographical book envelopes to the poetry collections of Czech authors of the first half of the twentieth century. It focuses on the period of Czech avant-garde and new possibilities and limits of genre, artistic and semiotic definition. Attention is also devoted to contemporary anthology, professional journals and articles, especially by Karel Teig's production, in which he illustrates his concept of modern art. It also includes the marketing and aesthetic-educational character of visual imagery in literature for children and youth.
