Laboratory of Quality of Service
Eltahir Ahmadon, Ahmed ; Kolka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The Bachelor's work, you are reading, deals with the issue of VoIP calling and measurement its quality. In the following paragraphs the discussion will be about the basics of networking protocols such as TCP, UPD, IP and SIP, after that a preliminary introduction to QoS issues - ways of measuring voice quality for instance MOS and E-Model. Importance of implementing QoS for VoIP, and QoS parameters used in the proposed services (will be called "mechanisms"), such as Best effort service, Integrated and Differentiated services. Based on these fundamentals points with designed laboratory for quality of service. The laboratory will be aimed at testing the quality of codecs with regard to bandwidth, jitter, delay and packet loss. The solution lies in the fact that, which codecs are actually suitable for the service.

Malár, Lukáš ; Holešinský, Pavel (referee) ; Matocha, Tomáš (advisor)
The Master’s thesis ”The Implementation of the Advanced Filtering Based on the Packets’ Classification using Linux” is intended to the realization of an internet gateway. The gateway serves to make the connection between local network and the internet. The thesis contains a short theoretic description of parameters and types of QoS services. The classful and classless queues are mentioned in detail. The last theoretic part refers to the introducing of LDAP protocol and its usage. The practical part of this thesis captures the configuration of firewall, dns and radius server connected with LDAP databases. The thesis also contains detailed description of the production QoS by HTB with L7-filter including the compilation of system’s core. The end of the thesis contains the series of tests of created scripts.

Musil, Aleš ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on measurement of quality of service within mobile networks. The thesis explains standards of mobile networks, quality of service, how achieve specified quality and measurement method. Then thesis explains server program for measuring multimedia data and mobile application for operating system Android, which can evaluate and show measured data. In the end there is shown measurement of testing data.
Adaptation of access networks for advanced networking technologies
Frollo, Martin ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Novotný, Bohumil (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focusing on the real-time services running in packet networks and problems that may arise while they are running. Specifically it is focused on the technology of VoIP service. There are many different signaling protocols to support this service. Among others, the SIP protocol is very widespread. In addition of the connection it is necessary to ensure the transmission of voice data. That is the task of the RTP protocol. This service and also others for which time is critical with increasing constraints on networks it needs to be frequently given the priority over traditional services like downloading files, and more. VoIP service has certain requirements for transmission parameters that must be followed for optimal function. They are for example, packet loss, one-way delay and delay variation. Most problematic is to ensure the optimal operation of the service on slower transmission routes. That is why it was necessary to establish mechanisms capable of real-time services to ensure sufficient network capacity to meet end user. These are, for example technologies of integrated services or differentiated services. At the present time, however, the technology of integrated services is not very widespread because of its inefficiency. On assembled telephone network made from available components in the laboratory, there are analyzed and confirmed some of the distinctive features and characteristics of the SIP protocol. Furthermore, measurements confirmed sufficient network capacity for VoIP service of the used network and parameters affecting security of the QoS have been evaluated.
Routing protocols in scale-free topology networks
Mahdal, Ondřej ; Kyselý, František (referee) ; Skořepa, Michal (advisor)
This master's thesis (further only MT) deal with problems of scale-free topology networks with a view to technology MANET (Mobile Ad hoc network) or more precisely Motorola MESH. Further studies routing technique and quality of services (QoS) in these networks. Theoretic part of MT in introduction shortly characterizes properties and kind of Ad hoc networks, next part is dedicated to technology Motorola MESH and shows practical usage of this technology. Analysis of problems quality of services and optimalization QoS in MANET is content third parts of MT. Fourth part specifies division of routing protocols, analysis of routing in MANET and characteristics routing protocols OLSR, AODV, DSR and TORA. In practical fifth part of MT are in introduction simulated simple MANET and mesh networks and further is created model of MANET network, into the model are implemented accessible routing protocols in simulation program OPNET Modeler and on the basis of simulation these protocols or more precisely output statisticians of simulation are protocols compared from several aspects and suitability for transmission of multimedia data (voice, video).
Quality of service assurance using the MPLS protocol
Henzl, Václav ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this semestral thesis is to create a MPLS network model using OPNET Modeler program and consecutive simulation of this network behavior with focus on quality of service assurance. This project contains also theoretical introduction to the MPLS network problematic and quality of service assurance - hereafter it is focused on simulation and analysis of data flows in extended communication network model with focus on Voice Over IP parameters. This thesis is discovering attributes of MPLS with respect to network traffc.
Potential application of neural networks in network elements
Babnič, Patrik ; Vymazal, Michal (referee) ; Vychodil, Petr (advisor)
The goal was to get acquainted with the problems of network elements to describe neural networks that can be used to manage such a feature. The theoretical part deals with the neural networks from their inception to the present. It focuses mainly on the network, witch can be used for management control. These are the two network: Hopfield network and Kohonen network. The practical part deals with the network element model and ist implementation. It contains a practical element model using a neural network, witch is controlled by a network element.
Hotspot system for more network operators
Strmiska, Roman ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with the design and realization of a hotspot system for more Operators, it solves problems of QoS, billing of transferred data and distribution of services via a common wireless interface. The theoretic part is oriented to the selection of a suitable technology and explanation of a legislation, which relates to an activity of the hotspot‘s network. The practical part solves the choice of hardware, design and realization of the experimental network. In conclusion are tested transit parameters of the network and its functionality.
Integrated telecommunication environment
Tomeček, Jan ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The thesis described the proposal for a wireless network problems. There are recorded and compared the characteristics of different wireless technologies. The possibility of voice communication securing is outlined and solutions implemented in the form of ZRTP protocol. The requirements for quality of service are discussed and the solutions to this issue are proposed. Other chapters are devoted to the actual design of specific equipment, including antennas and advance resource. The whole network is practically implemented in the mountainous countryside of eastern Wallachia. In conclusion, this work is network mate in terms of QoS (quality of service) and tested in terms of prioritization of voice communication.
Fault recovery in data networks
Trávníček, Michal ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mácha, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of the bachelor’s thesis was to explain the basic principles and technologies for ensuring reliable and effective routing within networks when a link failure. This is with minimal effect to the quality of service. The focus was on mechanisms ensuring the quality of services within the network, especially differentiated services and the both groups of dynamic routing protocols – distance vectors and link state protocols. On the basis of obtained knowledge, the simulation has been designed in OPNET Modeler. It simulated routing of routing protocols RIP and OSPF of networks without any failure. The next simulations containted the link failure and the link recovery. Then the network with DiffServ was designed. It filtered data packets according to used ports and protocol and it added a label to packet with a priority for the certain service. The attention in the network was focused on the VoIP service and its parameters, such as jitter and end-to-end delay. It has also monitored the value of dropped traffic. It simulated the networks with the link failure and the link recovery. The results were compared to the network with no QoS and network with QoS but no failure.
