Model of the Surface Optical Intensity Distribution in the Beam
Wintr, Aleš ; Hudcová, Lucie (referee) ; Wilfert, Otakar (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is first to describe the light beam spreading through free space and its characteristics. The theoretical part of the thesis developed programs that display models of beams. Given the parameters, theses models depict areal dispersion of optical intensity in the cross-section of beams. More specifically, I developed both a 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional model of beam depiction and a 3-dimensional model with variable angle of rotation of the beam trace. For this purpose I used the software Matlab R2007a. In the experimental part of the thesis I assembled a measurement chain and measured optical intensity of selected optical fibre. The measurement chain included laser Promax Prolite 80, optical source LED Promax Prolite 81, optic power meter Exfo 67A, collimator Thorlabs F810FC-1550 and optical fibres with various characteristics. The measured values were used to plot graphs depicting aerial dispersion of optical intensity and these graphs were compared with the theoretical computer model developed in the theoretical part of the thesis.

New trends in fibre optic sommunications
Lubajo, Lubajo Moses Wolyan ; Dejdar, Petr (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)

Bragg gratings in optical fibers
Urban, František ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
Thesis focuses on the principles and properties of the tilted Bragg fiber gratings. Two models of the principal cladding mode behaviour are proposed and ther respective results compared with experimental data. The experimental setup for the preparation of the tilted gratings is described. The thesis shows the evaluation of the gratings parameters for the set of prepared gratings. Application of the tilted gratings in the sensors is discussed

Transmission of accurate time and stable frequency through the optical network
Girt, Lukáš ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Vojtěch, Josef (advisor)
Diploma thesis focuses on the theoretical analysis of precise time and stable frequency transfer. It describes what time and frequency is, their properites and options of their generation. Next part deals with different possibilities of time and frequency transfer especially using fiber optics. In the practical part equipment for analysing effects of temperature changes on precise time transfer is puted into operation. Arduino platform is used for monitoring temperature changes on fiber. For testing of frequency stability in variable temperature conditions of environmental chamber device is created using highly coherent laser.

Optimization of production process at ADC Czech Republic s.r.o
Cháma, Jakub ; Obdržálek, Radim (referee) ; Štroner, Marek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of production process at ADC Czech Republic s.r.o. Primarily, the method of Lean Six Sigma is used. The first part has a form of the literary study where individual methods used within the company are described. These are further applied in the practical part. The second part presents a brief introduction of the company including the production portfolio. The last part focuses on the practical solution of particular problems of two packaging lines aiming to increase the utilization. In the thesis, the DMAIC improvement cycle is employed.

Polarization sensitivity of the fibre optics grating sensors
Babieska, Lukáš ; Šifta, Radim (referee) ; Urban, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the effect of full-length fixation of optical fiber gratings on their polarization dependence. In addition, the effect of primary protection and parameters of optical fiber gratings on their intrinsic polarization dependence was also investigated. The theoretical part of the thesis briefly describes the historical development of optical fiber gratings, the types of optical fiber gratings used and also describes in detail the principles of polarization dependence of optical fiber gratings and the mechanisms of polarization dependence of optical fiber gratings. In the practical part of the thesis, suitable measurement methods for measuring the polarization dependence of optical fiber gratings are proposed. Furthermore, these methods are optimized and used for subsequent measurements of the effect of fixation on the polarization dependence of optical fiber gratings. Many different methods of fixation of the optical fiber gratings were then used to measure the effect of fixation, and the degree of polarization dependence of the optical fiber gratings was evaluated for each of the different fixation methods. The practical part of the thesis is concluded with a detailed summary of the results obtained.

Non-elektricity Quantities Fiber Optic Sensor
Mytyska, Kamil ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with an analysis of the method of propagation of optical fiber by two polarization planes. The method of light propagation is mathematically described using Jones and Stokes vectors. The first part describes wave theory of light divided by Fresnel wave theory, polarization ellipse, degenerate polarization states, parameters of polarization ellipse, Poincaré sphere and degenerated states on Poincaré sphere. Then follows Stokes and Jones polarization parameters, their vectors and Mueller matrix. In addition this paper illustrates the principle of the temperature sensor which is carried out with the help of the polarimeter and its computer program. The following is design of temperature sensor, which is composed of polarizer, photodiode, light output meter and digital multimeter. Another part of the thesis shows the measured values using the current measurement solution using polarimeter and proposed photodiode sensor. At the end of the thesis there is a comparison of the measured values for the three different temperatures that were applied to the optical fiber.
