Vocal music education at elementary schools with the focus on the first year students

This diploma thesis focuses on voice training of pupils in the first grade of the elementary school. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses music and voice education, specifics and particulars of children's voices. The major part is devoted directly to specific skills that form the base of a correct singing technique. This part of the thesis also includes a short summary of the mechanics of voice formation that every teacher should know. The goal of the practical part of the thesis is to assemble a collection of exercises focused on breathing, voice and articulation issues of children. The collection should help especially the beginner music teachers to find various types of exercise and implement them in practice. All the listed exercises could become an inseparable part of music education at the elementary school.
Possibilities of using elements of music therapy methods in music education at the 2nd grade of elementary schools

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the elements of music therapy in music lessons in the second grade of primary school. Proposed activities are intended for use in music lessons. The main aim of the thesis is to create several activities with elements of music therapy, which could be fully used during music lessons in the second grade of primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history of music therapy, current trends in music therapy, the definition of music therapy, and a view of music therapy in comparison with pedagogy, musical means of music therapy, and its forms, methods, and types. The practical part of the thesis presents the proposed activities, that could be implemented in music lessons. The Bachelor's thesis points out the possible inclusion of music therapeutic activities in the regular lessons of music teaching, which could be a means to improve the class atmosphere, students relaxed, and music education.

Musical program in pre-primary education for children with atypical language development

The master thesis with the topic: Music Programme For Preschool Children With Atypical Speech Development focuses mainly on speech development of children with different types of socio-cultural disadvantages. The theoretical part focuses on the effect of different mother tongues, bilingualism and other sociocultural disadvantages on speech development of preschool children. It highlights music education and its integrative character, especially in relation to physical education, drama and art education. The connection between music education and different types of learning is also found there, as well as the relationship of music education and the development of different types of intelligence as defined by Gardner. The theoretical part also presents the possibilities of using musical activities as a tool for supporting and nurturing the child's speech development, focusing on compensating for possible deficits expecially in the lexical-semantic and pragmatic levels of language. Folk music in the work of Czech authors

The master's thesis is focused on the presence of folk music and culture in the work of four Czech authors, Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček and Bohuslav Martinů. In the theoretical part, the composers are introduced in chronological order. The emphasis is put on the key moments and influences that subsequently shaped their relationship to folk music. There is also provided the historical and social context necessary for understanding the topic. Furthermore, there are also stated and described the compositions that are inspired by folk music or use it explicitly. The compositions are stated alongside corresponding sheet music. In the practical part, selected compositions, which were discussed in the theoretical part, are used as material for teaching activities. These activities were created for teaching music education at lower secondary schools. In the activities, accessible folk music is used as a mean to understand more demanding classical music. All activities are tested in pedagogical practice and are therefore provided with a description, goals, methodological commentary, and graphic materials.
Musical Activities for Children with Delayed Speech Development

As a topic of this bachelor thesis, I cover musical activities for children with delayed speech development. In the theoretical part, I focus on the specifics of correct children's speech development,the fundamentals of communicationandspeechand musical educationinthe pre- school age. I study the definitions, ways of diagnosing and the causes for the delayed speech development. The goal of the empirical part was tofindout the best way possible tohelpchildrenwith delayed speech development using musical activities with participation of a speech therapist. Throughout the consultations with the speech therapist, I had a chance to meet children who suffer from delayed speech development. I used vocal games (both previously published and created by me), evaluated the reactions and the degree of development of the children. The empirical part consist od six case studies and records of five meetings. The research is accompaniedby a poll filled out by the parents of the children I met during the research. I also carried out an interview with the speech therapist. The research's findings suggest that the musical activities helpto develop vocabulary and accelerate overall speech development of the childrenwith delayed speech development. Flute playing as a group teaching in community school

The diploma thesis deals with group teaching of flute, especially in a community school. The aim of the work was to summarize the already existing materials and in the practical part to perform the experiment directly in the classroom, where the goals and hypotheses for the period were set. The theoretical part summarizes the existing work that deals with this topic. There are also mentioned the possibilities of teaching the flute and a look at group teaching of the instrument in history and today. The next section provides an overview of textbooks that deal with group flute playing and other frequently used titles and their comparison. The next topic is playing an instrument in a music class and also a theory on the topic of alternative and community schools. The practical part contains an introduction to the course of music lessons in the classroom where the research took place. It focused on teaching flute in a specific class. The methods used were experiment and observation. Pupils met the goals set for the semester and learned to play a few notes and songs. Some hypotheses have been confirmed (a better attitude of pupils towards music education if they play an instrument here). Irish Traditional Music at Czech School

The master's thesis deals with Irish traditional music and its possible use in music teaching at lower secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part provides information on Irish traditional music and the historical and geographical conditions under which it developed. The practical part deals with the possibilities of its implementation into school education in accordance with the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education. Accompanying the thesis is an appendix consisting of pictures, texts, worksheets and sheet music. The attached CD contains audio and video recordings as well as multimedia presentations.
