Dieselgas Engines
Březina, Tomáš ; Böhm, Michael (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of Dieselgas engines. The first part work is focused on the history and development of engines and motor fuels. The second part deals with diesel engines, a description of the engine operating cycle, fuel injection system, types of diesel fuel, engine efficiency and emissions. The following chapter provides an overview of gaseous fuels suitable for passenger and public transport. Of these fuels, the two most commonly used are further elaborated. The fourth chapter deals with the use of gaseous fuels in diesel engines, the possibility of conversion of these engines, both by conversion to petrol and without this change. The last chapter deals with the effect on consumption and emissions of dual fuel engines.
HCCI engines
Otáhalík, Pavel ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of HCCI engines. Due to later required knowledge of fundamental principles, the beginning of the thesis is devoted to the history of combustion engines, the principle of their function and their division by basic criteria. The following section consists of the description of petrol and diesel engines in terms of the principle of the mixture formation and its combustion with emphasis on their advantages and disadvantages. In the central part of the thesis, which focuses on the HCCI engines, various mixtures creation methods and ignition are described. Next, the HCCI engines are described in terms of emissions including current concepts solutions. Finally, the conclusion of the thesis consists of speculation of the future of combustion engines and their prospective alternatives.
The special piston engines on the general aviation aircraft
Motyčka, Ivo ; Zablatzký, Jiří (referee) ; Imriš, Pavel (advisor)
Topic of this bachelors thesis are Special piston engines on the general aviation aircraft. In the first part, the historical development is adumbrate and their operating principle. Next part deals with particular special piston engines, expansion, advantages and disadvantages, principles and their impact for general aviation. There are impeaching demands of JAR-FCL 1 rules in certification of engines. Next part is being paid to operating conditions of aeroplanes. At last the confrontation between special piston engines and most used engines of general aviation is made.
Development and perspectives of common rail system
Gach, Jakub ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the Common Rail injection system. It describes the origins of the system, its principle and the function of the individual parts of the system. It also deals with the development of individual system generations and their use. It is clear from the thesis that it is one of the best present-day injection systems that meets all the today's requirements for the design and construction of a vehicle.
Internal combustion engine control in the LabView environment
Adamec, Vojtěch ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the control of a diesel internal combustion engine. The aim of the thesis was to make a methods overview of diesel internal combustion engines control, to develop an algorithm for a six-cylinder diesel engine control and then to program it in the LabView environment. The thesis also describes the calibration of sensors and engine control unit. The algorithm was tested using a programmed signal generator and an oscilloscope.
Design of yard locomotive
Miklica, Martin ; Pelikán, František (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
Plenty of designing works focused on railway technology were made through the time. But the majority of them are concerned with high-speed trains or at least express train locomotives, but works devoted to design freight or shunting locomotives can be barely found. This diploma thesis is looking into nearly unexplored territory and finding out, which possibilities in the design of shunting locomotives of independent traction do exist, and find better solutions then those currently used, where possible and appropriate. The result of this master thesis work is design of shunting locomotive, which respects the requirements of railway standards, ergonomics and safety, and still brings in modern design solutions.
Crank Train of a V6 Compression-ignition Engine
Homola, Petr ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This master thesis, concentrated on crank train mechanism of diesel V6 engines with special focus on design and construction of crankshaft, is divided in two main phases. First phase is concept, which contains brief introduction of diesel V-engines construction, parameters of chosen engine unit, especially crank train mechanism, design of crankshaft and 1D analysis of torsional vibrations. Second phase is layout, this phase deals with MBS 3D analysis with flexible FEM models of crankshaft and engine block. These outputs are used for fatigue analysis of crankshaft.
Proposal and Examination of Supercharging Alternatives of CI-engine with Recirculation
Prášek, Ondřej ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The object of this thesis was Proposal and Examination of Supercharging Alternatives of CI-engine with Exhaust Gas Recirculation according required engine power parameters. This goal was meet by use of Turbocharger with Variable Nozzles and Air-Air intercooler.
Design of Diesel Aircraft Engine One-cylinder Engine with Contra Rotating Pistons
Svoboda, Tomáš ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with design of crankshaft for two stroke opposed piston diesel engine. In the theoretical research part a history, comparison with competitive engines in nowadays light aircrafts and the advantages of opposed piston engines are mentioned. In the practical part the balancing is chosen and CAD model of crankshaft is designed. Geometry of this model is than checked for fatigue damage fallout. In the final part was chosen the propeller and appropriate reduction gearbox.
Fuel injection pumps for diesel engines
Kovářová, Lucie ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Bachelor thesis about "Fuel injection pumps for diesel engines," deals with fuel injection pumps for diesel engines and their development. The goal of this thesis is to describe and explain the principle of fuel injection pumps and to categorize them according to their design solution. The categorization begins with the first historical usage of fuel injection pump and ends by outlining the future usage of this technology.
