Life, Work and Contribution of Dr. Stanislav Šidlák.

The following bachelor thesis deals with the person and work of the cantor, director of elementary school, choirmaster, composer, pianist, and conductor PaedDr. Stanislav Šidlák (1904-1987), whose life is inherently connected with regions Trutnov, Úpice, and Malé Svatoňovice. This personality has become an important cultural promoter in the region of Northeastern Bohemia, specifically Sudet. He developed cultural events in the aforementioned location. He founded and led many choirs (e.g. the Vítězslav Novák choir), as well as vocal chamber groups, one of which was the internationally successful Dívčí pěvecké trio. He also acted as a conductor of the Strážkovická hornická hudba (a group typical of that region). For his ensembles, he edited a number of folk songs for various musical groups. As a composer he is the author of suites, cantatas, several vocal works for men's and mixed choirs, and an operetta (popular during that time) on the motifs of Božena Němcová's Pantáta Hájek. He not only led his ensembles but also actively participated as a regular member (e.g. Pěvecký sbor českých učitelů). He was also a sought-after tenor. Personal Calendar PHP

This thesis aims to time management. The goal is to design and implement web application for simpler and easy-to-use managing of personal time. For this, the application uses calendars, To-Do lists, dividing of bigger task into subtasks or analyzing of spent time. The PHP framework named Symfony was used for implementation of the application with use of object-relation mapping, that is provided by the PHP library Doctrine and uses MySQL database. The CSS and JavaScript technologies were used for better graphical design and dynamism of work with application.
Music at the Chatéau Sychrov

The aim of the thesis is to introduce the musical life at the Chatéau Sychrov and chart the music events since the history after the music events taking place in the present. Althought the musical life at the Cahtéau Sychrov is abundant. That is in the way of the history as well the way of the present, there is no study, or thesis, which would be dedicated to this issue. The intention of the thesis is to fill this vacancy and introduce the musical life at the Chatéau Sychrov in the context. Thesis is stated by the characteristic of the Chatéau Sychrov and it's general history. There is introduced musical instruments found at the Chatéau, I deal with Antonín Dvořák's journeys, who visited the Chatéau regulerly, peaces he composed there and his legacy, for ex. Choir Antonín Dvořák and Antonín Dvořák's festival. Then is introduced the musical life at the Chatéau in the present. Personality of Eugèn Ysaÿe

This disertation turns its focus to one of the most significant personage of violin history. It portrays Eugène Ysaÿe not only as an interpret, conductor and pedagogist, but also as unconventional composer which established underlying milestone influented violin techniques of 20th century. We will point out to amity with leading artistic personalities which affected not only his evolution as composer. On musical examples, we will demonstrate his musical language, composition technique and personal input. This work should serve as complex oversight of Ysaÿe's life and persisting legacy.
Johann Anton Koželuch (1738-1814) - Life and Work

The aim of the dissertation is to create a monograph on the life and work of the Prague-based composer Johann Anton Koželuch (1738-1814). The first part follows the composer's journey through life and professional career, noting the background and the position that influenced his work and composition legacy. The conclusion of the first part is devoted to selected aspects of his work which is compared and contrasted with the period musical context. The second part of the dissertation contains a thematic catalogue of compositions by Johann Anton Koželuch. On the basis of musicological research it is incontestable that Johann Anton Koželuch ranks among the most important personalities of Bohemian musical life in the second half of the eighteenth and the first half of the nineteenth century and his legacy goes beyond the borders of this country. The dissertation points towards new findings about music history not only in Bohemia, but also across Central Europe.
Zdeněk Fridrich - organ historian, composer and pedagogue

The master's theses are meant as a monography, that informs about an important personality of the cultural life in Olomouc, doc. PhDr. Zdeněk Fridrich CSc. He made a large impact within the field of historical organ building in Moravia, where he presented the organs and made a case for the necessity of their renewal. His publications are renowned publicly both domestically and internationally. Next, he dealt with composition and created a complex work. He wrote vocal and instrumental compositions ranging from small chamber ensembles to pieces for a symphony orchestra. Not of lesser importance was his pedagogical activity. Zdenek Fridrich taught at the Institut for Music Pedagogy on the Pedagogical Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc for thirty years where he pedagogically influenced the profiles of many graduates, that have become successful in the musical praxis. Part of this thesis is a CD with examples of Zdenek Fridrich's works.
