Perspective bus powertrains
Kubík, Jan ; Maršálek, Ondřej (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to consider possible future development of alternative powertrains with regard to their use in buses. First described are the most promising alternative fuel vehicles, which use an internal combustion engine. The next part is evaluated ways to store energy using electric drives. At the end of the work is mentioned hybrid technology as a combination of previous drives.
Alternative Powertrains and Fuels
Ondica, Rastislav ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis explores different options about how to drive a vehicle, than using petrol and diesel. It discusess alternative fuels for combustion engines. It also explains hybrid and electric powertrains. It concentrates mostly on aspects such as ecology, costs, safety and the possibility of using those solutions.
Concept of the aircraft CNG engine
Šmerda, Ondřej ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with comparsion and rating the compressed natural gas as an aircraft piston engine fuel. An information search of conventional fuels and differences of the fuel systems for AVGAS and CNG is included. Next part describes the aircraft and its engine on which is the mathematic model based. After that perfomance and consumption data are calculated for both fuels and the results are then compared. At the end of the thesis, a design of the CNG fuel system with components selection is described.
Modern Trends in Alternative Powertrains
Křivánek, Filip ; Hloska, Jiří (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an overview of modern alternative powertrains for cars. The thesis is focused on the effort to lessen the negative impact on our environment. The main part of the thesis includes key advantages and disadvantages of drive units using alternative fuels, their specific properties, utilization and arrangement in cars. The work also describes in outline further alternatives of powertrains for the future.
Determination of emissions and harmful particles of exhaust gases of CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles
Rozsíval, Adam ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with an analyses of emission and harmful particles of exhaust fumes of automobiles with an environmental impact. More precisely, it describes the basic characteristics of current fuel types and emission produced by internal combustion engines. Next, it deals with the measures and possibilities of decreasing car traffic emission with respect to environmental impact. It also describes the current European standards for emission and the systems of the cars that are able to decrease emission. The work also deals with the measuring of emission and the methods that are used. According to the measuring methods, the analysis of exhalation is done and it is based on the data of the real car fleet. Values of the emission analyses are compared. The financial aspect is a part of the analyses.
Determination of CO2 exhaust emissions for CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles
Chytil, Ivo ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the topic of Carbon dioxide emissions that are created by Petrol, Diesel and CNG vehicles. In the first part of the thesis, the results of theoretical calculations are compared with the values of the manufacturer of the specific vehicle. In the second part, a specific method has been selected for calculations with real data from transport. The savings of CO2 produced by the specific vehicle are expressed in percentage – depending on the fuel used. The operating expenses from the real data are calculated and compared with hybrid and electric vehicles. In the final part of the thesis, the ratio of fleet type vehicles to the financial/ecological aspect was proposed.
Alternative fuels for combustion engines
Vopařil, Jan ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This thesis features a surfy of alternative fuels for combustion engines, it deals with their characteristic properties which are determinate for possibly uses in future.
Alternative fuels for internal combustion engines
Žídek, Tomáš ; Maršálek, Ondřej (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is processed a survey of the alternative fuels for the spark-ignition combustion engines. The properties and the production, the most important components, infrastructure of service station and representatives of the vehicles powered by the type of specific fuel are stated for these fuels. There are defined the benefits and disadvantages of alternative fuels. The properties and parameters are critically evaluated for individual fuel. The use of alternative fuels in the future is outlined at the end of this thesis.
Internal combustion engine for Mars and Moon vehicles
Rachůnek, Radek ; Beran, Martin (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a mathematical model of the internal combustion engine for vehicles used in space missions. It includes a summary of the historical development and the possible future of the vehicles. It describes the external influences acting on the engine, summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of using an internal combustion engine. A separate chapter focuses on fuel selection with respect to the availability of local resources. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the development of a mathematical model according to a sample real engine. Here, the step-by-step process of modifications to create the engine model is described, considering the information from the previous chapters. The thesis includes an evaluation of the internal combustion engine to see if it represents a suitable alternative to current powertrains.
Alternative Fuel Engines
Bilík, Michal ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with an overview of alternative fuels for road vehicles and their effect on ecology. This work also describes the specific characteristics and peculiarities of power units which run on alternative fuels, their advantages, disadvantages and shows examples of some vehicles.
