Reporting of the Selected Firm

This work deals with reporting as a tool for the creation of a comprehensive system of data and indicators testifying about the company's activities in an understandable and user-compact format. Further demonstrated by the practical use of examples and forms of reports to highlight the crucial and often repetitive deficiencies and errors in the use of business information. Based on detailed analyzes are evaluated selected reports and recommendations are defined to make the process of reporting more effective. Selected reports are supplemented by a range of new information that will enhance the management process and therefore lead to savings. These savings are discussed in detail in one of the recommendations of the work on the introduction of CRM IS.
Management of Information Flow of Small Software Company

This diploma thesis deals with the management of information flow of a small company using Business Intelligence tools and the data mart. There is defined the problem of working with information from the point of view of selected company in the first part. The next part presents selected theoretical background on the basis of which was the aim achieved. The fourth part analyses the current situation of the company. There is recommended complex improvement of the current situation in the practical part. Selected information management problem is accomplished factually. There are also introduced suitable software tools, which were used for the solution.

The first extension is new module for on-line sale and cashless on-line payment. The second one is integration of Business Intelligence tools to help streamline marketing strategies of this company.
Modern sales promotion using mobile technologies

The diploma thesis deals to design and develop mobile application for sales promotion in retail chains. Mobile application is created on base of designed service for sales support, that subject and design is written in thesis too. Mobile application uses the most modern technologies, which are now available in mobile devices. This technologies ensuring identification of customer in store, share marketing information to customer and other possibilities gaining detailed information about shopping behavior of customer. Thanks to those data is possible analyze customer by different methods which are in thesis described too. Based on this analyses it can be streamlined sales, shopping and other retail processes. Main aim of thesis is make usable mobile application which promote sales in retail chain. Theoretical part of thesis deals to describe general marketing on which is based analytical marketing resp. Data-Driven Marketing. Next part of this chapters is defining of retail, explaining its specifics and showing interleave to modern technologies. Concrete possibilities of modern technologies is presented in last chapter of theoretical part which is primary focused on mobile application developing in IBM Worklight environment. Practical part of thesis is divided to two chapters where first chapter deals to description designing service for sales promotion. Description is built by architecture, data flows and design of communication interfaces. In second chapter is described design of mobile application based on the service, from user interface to technological architecture. In this part of thesis the mobile application is developed, provided as a OpenSource with all source codes and available online as a demo version. The main output of thesis is mentioned mobile application, which is detailed described in end of practical part. There is specified link to online available version of this application. Mobile application contains diverse functionality for customer and its aims to test usability of modern possibilities in real-life.
Využití moderní self-service BI technologie v praxi

Abstract This diploma thesis treats about the latest technologies in the field of self-service BI from Microsoft Corporation. The main goal of this work is to analyze the Microsoft self-service BI solutions, to describe the benefits and advantages of this technology and to show examples with real data in Microsoft self-services BI tools. To achieve the goal, the internet resources, recommended literature, and the software applications PowerPivot and PowerView (Excel 2013) are59 used. In its first part this thesis describes the basic characteristics and technology of classical BI solutions. The second part examines the actual self-service BI solution and its usability. And then analyzes the advantages and benefits compared to conventional technologies. Finally, in its last section describes self-service BI solutions, the DAX language used in PowerPivot and shows example reports with real data from banking sector. The key benefit of this diploma is the verification of the usability and advantages of self-service BI by using Microsoft self-service BI products and tools.
The development of business intelligence based on Microsoft: comparison of traditional BI and self-service BI

The first aim of this thesis is map the Microsoft development tools for business intelligence systems. This goal devide the tools for develop BI into two groups: tools for traditional BI systems and tools for self-service BI systems. The second aim of this thesis is a critical evaluation of approaches based on the criteria and scenarios focuse on selected business areas. This thesis answers the question if some of the approaches is a better solution for business intelligence systems, or whether one approach is more suitable for business intelligence solutions to some business areas.
Analysis of cloud BI solutions and factors affecting their implementation

The combination of Cloud Computing and Business Intelligence (BI) gives many advantages, however the classic deployment model is still in many cases preferred. Both models differ in many aspects and are suitable for various organizations. The thesis looks at these aspects and analyzes the differences that cloud computing brings to the Business Intelligence. Aims of the thesis are to compare both models according the architectural, security, user and financial aspects, influencing of the cloud computing on the implementation of BI and presenting some practical examples of BI solution. To achieve the aims the author uses a literature review, electronic sources and own analysis. Based on the identified impact of the cloud factor the author extends the reference model Management of Business Informatics (MBI).
Implementation of EPM 2010 to support the teaching of project and portfolio management

This thesis deals with the issue of the project management, project portfolio management and environment settings for the management and portfolio analysis in a fictional organization. In the theoretical introduction there is outlined the situation of the education of the project portfolio management at universities in the Czech Republic, Europe and worldwide, in summary form of founded courses that deal with this issue. Some basic principles of PMI methodology follow to introduce the reader to the project and portfolio management. As a practical part of this thesis there has been project management solution software implemented as a support for the portfolio management education. Microsoft Project 2010 has been selected for this purpose. This part of the thesis guides reader through practical topics like how to set up the whole environment including all utilities and contains a description of services settings. As example there were also sample roles and resources of the company set up, which were subsequently assigned to fictional projects so that the business portfolio analysis based on set of business goals and prioritization of individual projects could have been performed. The contribution of this work can be found mainly in the possibility of portfolio management education and training by using one of the leading software tool that are successfully implemented in a real production environment, and to try out the various acts and practices and also to clarify the various processes in the context of specific projects within the portfolio. Prepared fictional organization and sample data can be especially used as a model for handling various assignments in the upcoming educational courses at VŠE.
Implementation of Business Intelligence in ČON s.r.o. company

This dissertation thesis deals with the topic of Business Intelligence and Balanced Scorecard and its use in České odborné nakladatelství, s.r.o., a relatively small company of 29 employees, which publishes magazines about business, gastronomy, textile, foods, hotels etc. The first part of my thesis describes the BI and BSC theoretically and offers a methodical basis for the following chapters. It gives the reader a definition and structure of BI, with access to a Data Warehouse including the fundamentals of building an OLAP database. It furthermore explains what BSC is, which perspectives use and what a strategic map is. The theoretical chapters of my paper will draw conclusions about the use of BI and BSC and the links between them. The practical, hands-on, chapters continue with the actual application of BI and BSC in the afore-mentioned ČON, s.r.o. It describes the goals and ambitions of the company, which are further on divided into individual strategic goals and metrics, fragmented into perspectives of the BSC and portrayed in a strategic map. Upon analyzing the demands of the company a BI framework is created, data sources are identified, Data Warehouse are designed and brought into effect. In the end a multidimensional OLAP cube is created with MS SQL Server 2008. Finally, there is a MS Excel 2007 explanation and interpretation of the measured values (reporting), which is taken from the available sources of ČON, s.r.o. and is compared against the set strategic goals and metrics of the company. The results of this thesis are based on actual demands of the company and are ready to be implemented and used in real-life.
Implementation Business Intelligence in a small-sized company and practical check on personal placement agency

Cílem diplomové práce je návrh a implementace Business Intelligence v malé firmě, jako je personální agentura zabývající se poskytováním ?TEMPORARY HELP?. Požadavky na aplikaci BI jsou koncipovány na základě metodiky Balanced Scorecard. Teoretická část: popis základních principů a nástrojů konceptů BSC a BI včetně definování jejich vzájemného vztahu a specifických nároků daných užitím v malé firmě. Praktická část: ověření získaných poznatků z teoretické části práce v personální agentuře. V rámci BSC byly definovány konkrétní strategické cíle s měřítky a stanoveny strategické akce. Vybrané strategické cíle jsou sledovány vytvořenou BI aplikací v prostředí MS SQL 2000 a MS OFFICE XP.
