Localization system
Chlad, Miloslav ; Novotný, Radovan (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
The intent of this master’s thesis is to look for the best solution of finding lost items of everyday use. Described solution is based on GPS for outdoor and Bluetooth Low Energy for indoor localization. User of this system will be able to find his/her lost items using smartphone application.
Mobile Application for Remote Measurement Support Using Sigfox Communication Network
Bulawa, David ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The purpose of this project is the implementation of a mobile application for the operation system Android.  The application supports remote metering via the Sigfox network and local metering via Bluetooth Low Energy. I implemented it natively in the Kotlin programming language using the Model-View-ViewModel design pattern. Measured values are collected remotely using the Sigfox REST API and locally using the Android Bluetooth library. The collected data are persisted in the local database on the mobile device. Then, the data is interpreted and visualized into graphs that the user can customize.  The created solution provides a possibility to acquire, monitor and visualize data from sensors, including their historical values. The application is easy to use, but also allows configuring data interpretation and supports several different incoming message formats.
Wearable Devices: Possibilities of Using and Applications
Herec, Jan ; Luža, Radim (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on wearable devices that are currently actual topic. It presents their history, communication methods and capabilities of application. It further describes created solution that demonstrates the application of wearable devices for controlling a robot. The solution consists of a wearable device named Myo armband, an Android application and a robot on the platform ROS (Robot operating system). A Myo armband has a form of a bracelet that is placed on a forearm and contains sensors such as a magnetometer, a gyroscope, an accelerometer and an EMG (electromyographic sensors for sensing muscle activity on which base certain gestures are recognized). The application is designed for controlling a mobile robot capable of moving forward, backward and veer based on gestures and movements of a hand on which a Myo armband is attached. For this purpose, the application reads the relevant data from a wearable device using Bluetooth LE (Low Energy), then evaluates them and sends control messages via Wi-Fi technology to a robot. The description of a robot is discussed in more detail further below. The usage of the application (which is the main contribution of the author) and a Myo armband enable to control a set of mobile robots driven by the Robotic operating system (ROS).
Monitoring System Communicating with Mobile Device
Ilavský, Filip ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Očenášek, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of hardware peripheral measuring temperature, and implementation of client application, displaying the measured data. Wireless communication between the peripheral and the client is implemented under the protocol Bluetooth Smart (version 4.0 and higher) and secured by a security protocol against the attacker capturing this communication. The result of this thesis is a fully functional peripheral prototype measuring temperature and application displaying this temperature, designed for iOS version 8.0 and higher.
Authentication in the IoT
Drápela, Roman ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Dzurenda, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on authentication in the IoT. Some of the authentication protocols from the area of IoT are introduced at the beginning of the thesis. Next part of the thesis describes the NFC and BLE technologies, which can be applied in the IoT. Multi-device protocol is implemented using different devices (PC, mobile phone, SmartWatch). This protocol enables autentication based on the processes above the elliptic curves. Two sets of measurements (simulated and practical) are provided. In the final part of the thesis all the results are assessed.
Mobile application using Google beacon technology
Krajanec, Štefan ; Hajný, Jan (referee) ; Dzurenda, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis focuses on utilizing beacon technology in Android applications. Beacon technology allows for determining an approximate distance of the user from the beacon.. In order to verify the reference numbers given by the manufacturer we conducted an observation to measure the power of the received signal in reference to distance. 3 brands of beacons were tested, Kontakt.io, PROXioT and IBKS. The observasion has been iterated in an open field setting. Findings from this observation was implemented into an application designed for shopping mall marketing. The application, after getting closer to the beacon distinguishes between different behaviour types; behaviour as an instant notification, as a position log into a database, as a time stamp log (time spent near the beacon) into a database and as a conditional response. The aim was to resolve the problematics of communication with the beacon as universally as possible so the impletation into other projects would be as simple as possible. The aforementioned app is the output of this thesis.
Communication between the Android OS and Arduino Platform
Mychko, Maksim ; Rozman, Jaroslav (referee) ; Samek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with creating a library for the Android OS which enables efficient wireless communication with platform Arduino. The target is to create an application for Android OS, using a created library that allows you to capture data from various sensors and control effectors. The work describes basic wireless interfaces for Android OS and Arduino platform. The main benefits and drawbacks functions are also introduced. The comparison of current consumption for modules HM-10 and DIGI S1 has been carried out as well. Possibility of data acquisition and effector controlling exercises have been tested and verified.
Energy Consumption Monitoring Using Bluetooth
Bartoň, Ondřej ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement a system used for monitoring of energy consumption. The measurement is done on pulse output of the electricity meter using IoT microcontroller Dialog Semiconductor DA14531. The Measured values are send to computer Raspberry Pi using Bluetooth Low Energy. Here the data is processed and visualized.
Wireless Bicycle Speedometer
Ročkár, Martin ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Main goal of this bachelor thesis is practical design and implementation of a digital wireless cyclocomputer. This document can be divided into two parts, theoretical part which describes history of cyclocomputers, basic principle of cyclocomputer functions, overview of cyclocomputers on today's market, motion sensors and design of hardware. Second part is concerned about practical realisation and implementation of a wireless digital cyclocomputer.
Creation of Bluetooth data logger for recording and processing of measured data
Vaverka, Jan ; Myška, Vojtěch (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
The first part of the theses deals with dataloggers and their use in today's world. The second part is dedicated to microcontrollers which are used as a control unit for dataloggers. Individual peripheral devices MCU and their communication interfaces have been described. The next part deals with Bluetooth Low Energy which is used for data broadcasting to the user. Based on the acquired knowledge the microcontroller and sensors were selected. A datalogger was constructed and programmed from selected components, which will measure the properties of ferment during fruit fermentation. Finally, a mobile application was created to download data from the datalogger and then display the data in charts.
