Negative decisions on international protection in the light of judicial review
Hrdlička, Vladan ; Pítrová, Lenka (referee)
Negative decisions on international protection in the light of judicial review Abstract The presented work analyzes the decision-making practice of Czech courts in cases of rejected applications for international protection in the Czech Republic. It covers the decision-making paragraphs of the Czech Asylum Act so that the reader can get an idea of the functioning of the asylum system in the Czech Republic. The work aims to be practical and in many places the study of selected cases focuses on controversial moments, in which the court comes to the opposite conclusion than the administrative body. The right to asylum is enshrined in Article 43 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and the Asylum Act is an integral part of the Czech legal system. In a detailed analysis of the merits of disputed cases, the submitted work will present the closest possible profile of an applicant for international protection, who is close in his fate to an asylum-relevant persecuted person, as well as a foreigner who is threatened with serious harm if returning to his country of origin or last permanent residence. The legal institute is always mentioned and subsequently disputes that have been intercepted by the Czech administrative courts during the review of the defendant decisions are traced to it. The selected...
Asylum Policy of CSU on the background of two migration crises.
Duháčková, Klára ; Dimitrov, Michal (advisor) ; Lizcová, Zuzana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the asylum policy of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU) in the period of two migration crises, i.e., in 1990-1993 and 2015-2017. Since the 1980s, the party has profiled itself as a major advocate of national interests in an effort to limit the high influx of immigrants and refugees, arguing not only by the enormous financial burden and frequent abuses of asylum law for the economic benefit of refugees. In response to these arguments, CSU made an asylum compromise in the early 1990s, an amendment to the Basic Law that defined the conditions under which a politically persecuted person can invoke the right to asylum, which is still part of German asylum law. However, since 2013, the German media has begun to pay attention to the CSU's friendlier rhetoric in the areas of migration and asylum, especially regarding the statements of the new Bavarian Minister of Labour, Social Affairs, Family and Integration, Emilia Müller. The text of the diploma thesis outlines the CSU's asylum policy approach in the background of both migration crises. Based on the analysis of official documents and party's periodical called Bayernkurier, the thesis states that there is a partial shift of Christian social rhetoric in the asylum policy of CSU. In conclusion, the thesis is devoted...
Migrácia ako náhrada nedostatkových pracovníkov
Pompa, Tomáš
The bachelor thesis deals with migration as a substitute for shortage workers. I also deal with the possibility for skilled migrants and their integration into the labor market in terms of short and long term impacts. The first part deals with the objective and subjective barriers to employment for workers from the EU and from countries which are not EU members. I highlight the current valid regulation of the Act on Residence of foreigners in the Czech Republic. The practical part focuses on the analysis of job vacancies and employment of foreigners. At the end are recommendations for resolving the shortage of labor in oversized public sectors.

Assessment of the contemporary asylum and integration policy in Slovakia
Weberová, Zuzana ; Janská, Eva (advisor) ; Murad, Salim (referee)
Asylum and integration policies are important components of a country's migration policy. Firstly because of their very nature, as they deal with international protection and integration of foreigners into society. However, as it is indicated in this thesis, the functioning of these policies may affect not only how asylum or integration processes are taking place after the foreigners cross the country's borders but it may to some extent influence who comes into the country. This can be caused by how the country is perceived and whether people will consider it a suitable "refuge" and seek asylum there. Also, governments can determine how many people will come to their territory based on various relocation mechanisms. In order to understand the impact and functioning of asylum and integration policies, it is necessary to explore their different levels: discourse, policy on paper and its real implementation. This thesis describes how these levels interact and influence each other. Studying these three policy lines is especially interesting today because the phenomenon of migration was not significant for the public in Slovakia until a few years ago, but in 2015, with the culmination of the so-called migration crisis, it became one of the most important issues in Slovakia, despite the fact that the...
Territorial Asylum
Svobodová, Nikola ; Honusková, Věra (advisor) ; Ondřej, Jan (referee)
Territorial Asylum Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze territorial asylum, as an important institute of international law. Territorial asylum is analyzed on three levels; therefore, three different aspects of this institute are examined. The determined levels are as follows: history of territorial asylum, its legal regulation, and examination of existence of the right of asylum. As of now, the institute of territorial asylum and refugee issue are often mistaken or misused. For this reason, this thesis focuses on finding similarities and differences of the territorial asylum and refugee issue in perspective of the analyzed levels. This thesis is divided into three chapters corresponding to the selected levels. The first chapter analyzes the history of territorial asylum. It describes its origin and subsequent development from ancient history to modern times, ranging from religious asylum to gradual formation of territorial asylum, including brief analyses of diplomatic asylum as specific form of asylum typical for South America. This is followed by an analysis of history of refugee issue, as a relatively modern institute, including historical circumstances essential for its development. In this chapter, the research question, whether the historical development of the territorial asylum influenced...

PILECKÁ, Anna
This Bachelor Thesis aims to find out which methods and techniques of social work are the most used within the integration of foreigners to Czechia and what is their benefit. Integration of foreigners into the majority society is currently a very actual topic. In this Bachelor Thesis, I focus on the specific non-profit organization InBáze, z. s. residing on the Leger street in Prague. My main goal is to find out in what way the workers of this organization work with foreigners living in the territory of Czechia. Furthermore, what specific methods and techniques of social work these workers use and what is the benefit of their work for the integration of foreigners into the majority Czech society. A partial goal of this work is to find out what pitfalls the workers of InBáze face when working with foreigners. Another partial goal is focused on proposals on improving social work with foreigners from the non-profit organization employees' point of view. The theoretical part is divided into two parts. In the first part, the basic findings considering social work with foreigners are described. The second part is focused on the introduction of the non-profit organization InBáze, z. s. For the practical part, there is a qualitative research approach applied in accordance with the objective, using the interviews and analysis of the provided documents. This Bachelor Thesis may be used as feedback for the organization of InBáze, z. s. Equally, it can be used as an information material for students of both high schools and universities of social and legal focus.
