Problems of car-driving under alcohol intoxication focused on the driver risking behaviour
Matějková, Radka ; Reichelová, Lenka (referee) ; Šucha, Matúš (advisor)
The bachelor's work is focused on car-driving under alcohol intoxication. This work considers a risky behaviour of drivers related to alcohol consuming and reasons which lead to hazardous behaviour on the roads. It also informs about possible risks and consequences connected with this problems and statistic survey of accidents due to driving under alcohol influence. This work further informs about an alcohol influence on a human, about possibilities of prevention in traffic, and about generally attitude of Czech society to this legal drug. The survival part addressed two hundred volunteers who filled my questionnaire out. One hundred and nine people were used as a representative sample to ilustrate the situtation connected to driving under alcohol intoxication. The survival is concerned on pesonal features of the volunteers and on circumstences which determined the volunteers who drank alcohol and then drove. The survival realized on the base of the questionnaire which was either delivered by e-mail or personally. The result of this 6 survival is informations which describes a driver who tends to accept the risk of alcohol driving and resons which can be reponsible for alcohol driving.
Intelligent Transport Systems in the Czech Republic and their use
MALÁSKOVÁ, Martina
Thesis on "Intelligent Transport Systems in the Czech Republic and their use" is focused on the analysis of intelligent transport systems, particularly for road transport in the Czech Republic. The aim of my work is to summarize the information and knowledge of ITS in the Czech Republic to introduce individual systems, their functions and to assess their contribution to road safety. Based on the evaluation of telematics systems used I suggest in the final part of the ITS elements in selected urban sprawl, particularly in the Czech Budejovice.
Driver’s behavior while passing through pedestrian crossing analysis
Kledus, Robert ; Semela, Marek ; Maxera, Pavel ; Kunovský, Martin ; Křižák, Michal
The article deals with analysis of 8 drivers’ behavior while driving through pedestrian crossing during dusk and night. Monitored vehicle passes through modern crosswalk in urban area that is marked with horizontal and vertical road signs. The crossing is illuminated from left side from the direction of travel. Pedestrian is protected with safety island, which is marked with “passing on the right” mandatory sign, in the middle of the road. Optical reactions on various stimuli are monitored while driving with the help of the specialized device Viewpointsystem®, GmgH for monitoring changes of driver’s viewing angle. Drivers’ behavior strategies when passing the crosswalk are compared in this thesis. Monitored are driver’s navigation while driving and his reaction on the crossing pedestrian. Dangerousness of each driving situation is assessed and each strategy is evaluated. Results of this analysis are based on extensive driving tests that were realized in close cooperation of Institute of Forensic Engineering, University of Technology in Brno and research institute EPIGUS – Institut für ganzheitliche Unfall- und Sicherheitforshung from Austria in year 2010.
Study of the time needed for getting an all-round view and deciding in giving the right of way
Bařina, Jakub ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
This thesis deals with detection and analysis of a time needed for getting an all-round view before entering other vehicle's corridor during different conditions and speed. In the theoretical part a brief research is made concerning the subject of causes of accidents, aspects of human perception and driver's outlook. The analytical part derives from video recordings of on-road trials. The results was processed and the obtained data evaluated in order to find out the time needed for getting an all-round and making a decision while situated in the intersection. Above that, the data served as a determination of safety during intersection passing and quality of estimates of speed and distance of incoming vehicles. The conclusion of the analytical part is dedicated to participants mutual comparison and analysis of particular situations that occurred during the trials.
Influence of the Elements Surrounding the Road on the Traffic Safety
Bláhová, Eva ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
The thesis deals with the influence of the elements in surrounding the road on the traffic safety, focusing on visual distraction of the driver. Within the theoretical part are characterized transport system and its individual components (driver, environment and road, means of transportation and transport infrastructure) with emphasis on aspects affecting traffic safety and visual perception of the driver. The analytical part draws from video records with driving tests provided by the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology. They were processed and the data were evaluated to determine mainly the length of individual driver’s gazes on particular elements in surrounding the road and their comparison with the time dedicated to driving. The conclusion of this part is intended for the studies of advertising signs as they are the elements with significant influence on driver’s distraction. Interpretation of the results followed by designing their applications to increase traffic safety is included in the last chapter.
Evaluation of Technical and Economic Parameters for the Expansion of Electronic Toll Collection in the Czech Republic
Svatoš, Ivo ; Kudláček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Libertín, Josef (advisor)
The work evaluated on the basis of commonly available data some of the implications of collection toll of highway D1 and D5. It focuses on identifying potential alternative routes by using statistics of national traffic census. On these routes it evaluates the changes of traffic safety, which can show the change of traffic intensity of trucks. Next part evaluates potential economic benefits of bypassing toll routes. In the end it notes possible scenarios of impacts extended toll zones to the above fact findings.
Analysis of Critical Locations for Road Transport in the Blansko district
Janík, Josef ; Smělý, Martin (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
This thesis analyzes the specific critical accident points in the district Blansko. The purpose of this thesis is to suggest the organizational, constructional and technical measures needed to reduce the possibility of accidents, thus increasing road safety in these locations.
There is no need to wait for accidents applying observation of traffic conflicts and behaviour in Czech practice
Ambros, Jiří ; Turek, Richard ; Valentová, Veronika
Contrary to traditional reactive perspective based on traffic accident occurrence, evaluation using surrogate safety measures is preferred in a proactive safety approach. Traffic conflicts have been one of such indicators; to enable their use in Czech practice, Czech traffic conflict technique and guidelines were developed. The paper presents the study requested by road agency with objective of proving the feasibility of the guidelines. The case study assessed the risk at a newly-built rural intersection on motorway exit ramp before and after a change of road marking. Methodology, observation of traffic conflicts and behaviour, its findings and practical conclusions are reported.

Quantification of expenses in case of human death due to traffic accident and finding ways how to prevent them
Slánský, Josef ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Čech, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the issue of acceptability of a particular transportation project. It is objective is to capture the expenses which arise from a traffic accident. on this basis the goal is to express all expenses of the human death and to compare them with the specific transportation project. In addition to this, different means of accident prevention are to be figured out within the support of public safety. The whole thesis is split into four parts. The first part describes the accidents on Czech roads. The second part deals with the specific expression methodology of the human death. The third shows the real transportation project and the last section evaluates if the expenditure on the implementation of particular project exceed the expenses caused by the accident.
