Contribution to the study of British diplomacy in the Middle East during the WWI

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the basic premises of British diplomacy in the Middle East before and during the First World War. For a long time, The Middle East was an arena in which Britain fought to shield the road to India from France and Russia, this struggle came to be known as "The Great Game". The Middle East emerged from decisions made by the Allies during and after WW I. British officials who played a major role in making these decisions provided a version of events that was, at best, edited. They pretended they were patrons of Arab independence in the Middle East while promising land which was not theirs to the Jews who hoped to create a new Jewish state in Palestine. All decisions made during war have created the beginnings of the modern Middle East.

The comparison of large Czech banks' profits for the financial years 2008 - 2009

The bachelor thesis deals with an analysis of the income statement and its particular cost and income components. It compares three large Czech banks during last two years. The time period was chosen because a few problems connected with a financial life of those financial institutions appeared. The basic aim is to reveal fundamental impacts of the financial and the economic crisis on banks' profit and loss accounts. The comparison of crisis-stricken income statements is made as well as the effects of negative events and circumstances are examined. The thesis also focuses on changes in a structure and a volume of profits and expenses that has been caused by the world market turmoil and a slowdown of local economy.

RESUME Tematikou tejto licenciátnej práce je analýza kontroverznej osoby Dr. Jozefa Tisa - kňaza a prezidenta Slovenského štátu z historicko - etického hľadiska. Počas jeho politickej kariéry došlo k rozdeleniu Československa, zavedeniu jednej politickej strany na Slovensku, vyhláseniu vojny proti Poľsku a ZSSR a k antisemitizmu voči židom na Slovensku. Sú to udalosti, ktoré sa týkajú nielen správnej interpretácie Tisa z historického hľadiska na základe historických faktov, ale zasahujú i morálno- etickú rovinu samotného kňaza katolíckej cirkvi v hraničných etických situáciách. Jeho osobnosť rozpolťuje týmto nielen historické kruhy, ale prispieva i k polarizácii samotnej spoločnosti. Pokým nacionalistické, pravicové (Slovenská pospolitosť) a cirkevno - konzervatívne kruhy (biskup Sokol) sa ho zastávajú a stavajú na oltár mučeníkov, liberálne vidia v ňom pre zmenu diktátora a antisemitu. Ústredná otázka tejto práce teda znie: V čom spočíva a odkiaľ pramení polemizácia Tisa v historických kruhoch a ako jednal Tiso v hraničných etických situáciach (jednal podľa etických princípov morálnej teológie?)?. Prvá historická časť tejto práce sa venuje analýze 3 hlavných historických prúdov, ktoré svojimi líniami polarizujú Tisa v historických kruhoch: slovenský, slovenský - exilový a nemecký prúd. Internal and external factors of the kosova crisis

The thesis deals with the factors of the Kosovo crisis, which had and in some cases still have a strong influence on its origin and development. The first part of the thesis offers an insight into basic historical events, which may represent the root of the problem. Furthermore, it explains the escalation of violence in the 80s, which led to an armed conflict including the engagement of international participants. The sources of the persisting tense security situation and factors leading to the unilateral declaration of independence are analyzed in the next part. The themes of the last part are the sources of the lasting division of society. The aim of the thesis is to prove that the Kosovo crisis has been influenced by many factors, both internal and external, and simultaneously to explain this influence.

The interventions of the IMF in Argentina

Bachelor thesis Intervention of the International Monetary Fund in Argentina deals with the economic breakdown in 2001 and the role of International Monetary Fund in this event. Political background and economic policy has been analysed for better understanding what exactly eventually led Argentina to bankruptcy. For pragmatic reasons, most attention is devoted to 1990's that are most valuable for confirming the efficiency and motivation of the participation of the International Monetary Fund. Primary evaluation criteria in the thesis are inflation (based on consumer price index), growth of GDP, balance of payments and unemployment. All of the economic indicators are described on the historical background, as well as the political situation during the discussed period of time. Simultaneously, an effort to describe behaviour and development of the International Monetary Fund is manifested in regards to its own motivation, which is consolidation of the government budget and establishing economic development. Last but not least, there is a note about a controversy, which surrounds the whole existence of institution like International Monetary Fund, his agency and role.

A component of the work will recommend and implement a component interface definition schema and effective middleware layer that facilitates events, messaging and data exchange between various components.

The historical evolution of the landscape of South Bohemia

The topic of this thesis is The historical evolution of the landscape of South Bohemia. The objective of the study was to describe the landscape since Witigonen to events in the year 1989. In the beginning is landscape characterized during Witigonen age and especially colonization and development of the monasteries and city of Ceske Budejovice. Further the thesis has moved to the Rosenberg age, when the most important point has become building fishponds. During Eggenberg and Buquoy time the glassmaking increase and national nature reserve Zofin forest was founded. A great contribution was during the government of Schwarzenberg. Representatives of the family brought a great contribution to the agriculture but the biggest benefit was the drainage pipe system, the very first in the Bohemia. The landscape after the Second World War was in name of colonization. The main intervention was building the Vltava cascade. After the 1989 the agriculture is decreasing and on the other hand the agglomerations are growing bigger. The Natural Park Sumava was established.

Credit crisis in USA and analysis of state regulations

In my bachelor thesis I am going to deal with current problem - credit crisis in United States of America. I will analyse state regulation of government and American central bank Federal Reserve System during the crisis. I will try to find appraisal of situation, if the regulation had positive or negative impact on course of subprime mortgage crisis. I will briefly summarize course of crisis, from the beginning until present and I will characterise the main events on world financial markets during this period of time. In conclusion of my thesis I am going try to analyse impacts on real economy of United States of America, expansion of the crisis all over the world. I will sum up current prognosis for next development of world economy and I will try to conclude an advice or instruction from this crisis.
