Sensorimotor training - part of comprehensive treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Bezděková, Tereza ; Smolíková, Libuše (advisor) ; Babková, Lenka (referee)
The thesis deals with the possibility to influence the values of the lung function in patiens with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) after exercise carried out according to the Methodology of sensorimotor training. The thesis contains a summary of theoretical knowledge about the pathophysiologic expresion of COPD, including their consequences not only for the respiratory system, but musculoskeletal system as well. Furthermore the thesis includes the information about the Methodology of sensorimotor training, that was used to influence the posture correction in our research. Methods: The spirometric examination of flow-volume curves monitor the changes prior to and after the exercise according to sensorimotor training in patiens with COPD (mean age 60, 733 ± 11,817). Results: The using of sensorimotor training can provide correction of the position of the whole body, of the chest, and change a chest mobility and in total to set up conditions for more economical muscle activation. This enable the changes in the values of the lung functions in the patiens with COPD, that we measured. Not all changes showed statistically significant change. Conclusion: Using sensorimotor training have an objective effect on the values of the lung function in patiens with COPD.
Physiotherapy after soft tissue injuries of the ankle joint
Weissová, Marie ; Muchová, Renáta (advisor) ; Nováková, Petra (referee)
My bachelor thesis focuses on physiotherapy after soft tissue injuries of the ankle joint. This type of injury can affect both athletes as well as regular population during their daily activities. In the theoretical part of my thesis I discuss the anatomy of the ankle joint, specifically, its soft tissue; ligaments and muscles. Furthermore, I discuss kinesiology of the ankle joint and traumatology of the ankle joint's soft tissue. I particularly focus on the mechanisms of emergency of the injuries and majority of the injured structures. Included as well is a section on the instability of the ankle joint which is the focus of the practical part of my thesis. The practical part of my thesis contains two case studies where physiotherapy was applied, in particular, sensomotoric stimulation and spiral dynamic which are techniques suited to treatment of this type of injury. I explore their effectiveness. I have also included a description of these methods as well as tests examining the instability of the ankle joint. Both case studies examine patients who were injured more than two months ago and struggle with ankle joint instability, which is typical for this type of injury. The objective assesment of my therapy should be the measures on footscan. Key words: ankle joint, instability of the ankle joint,...
Possibilities prevention of orthopedic disorders legs at preschool children
NOVÁKOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis is focused on an orthopedic foot defects by preschoolers and their prevention. The foot is an important executive organ, which fulfill many functions. The main functions of the foot are standing and moving. Equally important function of the foot is the ability to feel the information about the terrain on which one we are moving. Through receptors located in the foot flows this information constantly into the central nervous system, where are they evaluate together with information from the whole body. On the ground of this information is happening a large number of subsequent complex processes - e.g. correction of the center of gravity, control of the position and of the body movement. Nowadays many children wear inappropriate footwear and they don´t have enough proprioceptive stimuli. As a consequence of this, the foot stops being functional and it can lead to the inception of various orthopedic disorders. Incorrect foot positioning will be reflected in the position of the entire body, since as the foot works across the whole attention to the prevention right in this period of life, as long as the pathological stereotypes are not fixed jet. In the theoretical part have I describes the basic information, that leads to the understanding of the issue. Here is described the anatomy of the foot, her development and function. Further the work is aimed at acquired orthopedic foot defects, at the possibility of prevention and at the foot examination. The last chapter is focused on the development of preschooler. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to inform what kind of orthopedic defects children can have. This bachelor thesis also maps out which are the most common defects and suggest preventive arrangements that protect the children against the development of the orthopedic foot defects. In the practical part was the qualitative research executed. In the research were the foot imprints of the preschoolers taken and then were three case studies before and after the therapy evaluated. To collected the data I used an interview to obtain medical history, method of observation and input and output kinesiology analysis. The therapy lasted for ten weeks and was prepared on the basis of sensomotoric stimulation with the elements of the game so that the children manage to keep attention. The results of this bachelor work shows that at all three probands during the exercises the condition of the foots had improved and also the stability of the whole body had improved. This bachelor work could be beneficial to current and future physiotherapists who are interested in this problematic. Furthermore, this work can function as a base for further and more detailed processing of this topic. It could be also applied in the development of education - kinetic methods in kindergartens. Even the parents, that want to prevent the origin of orthopedic disorders at their kids foots, could use this work as an inspiration.
The influence of sensorimotor stimulation induced by specialized tools and pshysioterapeutical techniques on the function of the foot of middle childhood aged children
VOTAVOVÁ, Eva
This bachelor thesis addresses the function issues of children's foot and the possible ways of influencing it by using sensomotoric stimulation. The foot is an important organ, which has multiple functions. Locomotion is one of the primary functions. The ability to adapt to different types of surfaces is one of the other functions. The gait on different terrains is natural for the foot. Alas, under the influence of the modern age, we the deviate from nature and lock our feet into misshapen footwear. Last but not least it is the sensitive component, which allows the motor system to respond appropriately to stimuli. The name of this phenomenon is sensorimotor coordination. Its base principle is the processing of data sent from the proprioceptors embedded in the body structures. The central nervous system processes the information and responds in an organism-specific way. It is an essential requirement for physiological gait. Basic information allowing the understanding of the given topic is stated in the theoretical part, for example the anatomy and structure of the locomotion system in the lower extremity area, biomechanics of gait included. A great deal of attention is paid to sensomotoric stimulation and its possible usage. The practical part was made in the form of a qualitative research. The research poll consists of four younger school-aged subjects, who took part in a 3-month therapy. The results were obtained by comparing the pre-therapy examination and post-therapy examination. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to conduct a survey about sensomotoric stimulation and to elaborate how it can impact functions of the foot. The results show, that it can have a positive impact on subjects with signs of flat feet. The muscles of flat feet are flaccid and therefore the sensomotoric stimulation is a suitable therapy for this condition. It activates the main leg joints stabilizers and the short muscles of the arches. The results are not as convincing in the case of a high arch, nevertheless even this condition has shown improvement. The muscles of a foot with a high arch have higher tension and in many cases, structural changes are present. These changes can be removed only by operation, e.g. pes cavus. Nonetheless if the therapy is undertaken at an early age and with a proper intensity, a positive effect can be achieved. Sensomotoric stimulation should be a part of natural development for the human body. It ensures the correct and efficient integrating of muscle units during locomotion.
The influence of the sensormotoric stimulation by using special tools and physiotherapeutic practices on the feet of patients with the recurrent vertebrogenic syndrome
POLONIOVÁ, Veronika
Sensorimotor stimulation is closely linked to vertebral algic syndrome and is used for the treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The methodology consists of many exercises from which the most important are the elements in the vertical. Due to sensorimotor stimulation it comes to the incensement of afferents from the skin exteroreceptors and proprioreceptors, which are based on the muscles and joints. Therefore we can say that thanks to the sensorimotor stimulation, which is based at the bottom of the foot, we can prevent the formation of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, thus we can positively influence the recurrent vertebral algic syndrome. The purpose of the theoretical part is to provide information on the effect of the sensorimotor stimulation on the vertebral algic syndrome, provide general information about the anatomy of the spine and legs, and at last provide information about the origin of the disease, methodics and physiotherapeutic procedures while treating the vertebral algic syndrome on the basis of sensorimotor stimulation. The specialized part consists of a qualitative research, which compiles by case studies of three people. An input and output kinesiology examination was performed to the patients. Also, there was taken medical history of the patients. The therapy lasted for four months. I met the patients two to three times a month individually, depending on their time. The therapy took place at the Rehabilitation and regeneration center in Borovany. The aim of the specialized part was to outline whether the sensorimotor stimulation and other physiotherapy practices have a positive effect on the pain in the spine and other vertebral algic syndrome. The supplements include photo documentations of patients at the beginning and at the end of the therapy and also examination of the bottom of the feet of patients at the beginning and at the end of the therapy as well. Vertebral algic syndrome is a very extensive topic and certainly could be described in more detail and would expand in other professional work. This topic is very interesting and wide for further research and therapy.

Following the senzory-motor training, all participants reported an improvement in postural stability and feeling save when moving.
Physiotherapeutic methods for the damage of the soft tissues of the knee joint
JAKEŠOVÁ, Kateřina
Abstract I chose as the theme of my thesis the effectiveness of physiotherapy following knee injuries. The aim of this work was determine whether appropriate and timely preventive treatment can prevent acute knee injuries in chronically unstable knee. Specifially, is it possible to avoid reinjuring or causing trauma to chronically unstable knee during physiotherapy. Research was conducted using a qualitative method and case reports on two women who had problems with chronic knee instability. The first patient received therapy from 15.1. to 6.4. 2009, while the second patient received therapy from 24.1. to 14.4. 2009. Thus both patiant received approximately 3 mont of physiotherapy. In the course of rehabilitation, treatment focused on sensory motor stimulation therapy. This therapy took place at two different physiotherapy clinics, where I had the most effective monitoring instruments. Both patiant with chronic knee instability were of simile age and the therapy was conducted during approximately the same time period. The first patient, whose sports activities typically involve home exercise and training, is rapidly recovering from both her subjective and objekctive symptoms. Further gradual improvement in her condition can be reasonably assumed. For the second patient, the pain fluctuates depending upon the sport load placed upon the knee. The goal there was to eliminate the phenomenon of {\clq}qgiving way``. From an objective point of view, this problem was fully resolved. In connection with these findings the patints were properly advised of therapy, shown how they can continue the therapy by themselves in their homes, encouraged to regularly return to the clinic for follow- up exams, and advised to purchase {\clq}qunstable boards`` for their homes.
