Alternative Powertrains and Fuels
Ondica, Rastislav ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis explores different options about how to drive a vehicle, than using petrol and diesel. It discusess alternative fuels for combustion engines. It also explains hybrid and electric powertrains. It concentrates mostly on aspects such as ecology, costs, safety and the possibility of using those solutions.
BMW Up-to-date SI-engines
Šroba, Roman ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with modern BMW spark-ignition engines. It provides an overview of current automotive design solutions in gasoline engines. The work is focused on three main areas. The first part describes the latest and unconventional technologies used in current BMW spark-ignition engines. The second part is focused on design solutions in specific aggregates, their evaluation or comparison with contemporary competition. The last part describes the hybrid vehicles and the car manufacturer's response to emission standards with focus on the waste heat of a car.
Analysis of air quality around selected energy devices
Páll, Marek ; Ondroušek, Luděk (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
My thesis deals with analysis of air quality close to power devices and with rating of emissions caused by these devices. In the work there are listed laws and regulations, which relate to the rating of indoor and outdoor air quality. Further, there is a briefly clarified problem of pollution, outdoor air pollution and methods of measurement of pollutants. Main characteristics of workplace climatic conditions and their permissible limits are classified and characterized. Areas where the analysis was done are specified and there is mentioned a brief course of the measurement. In further parts are stated results of measurements done close to the boiler, where natural gas is burned, and a boiler, where wood chips are burned. The last part is dedicated to evaluation of emissions measurement results.
Burning pellets from non-wood biomass in boilers II
Linda, Matúš ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Zejda, Vojtěch (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter deals with issue of combustion of agropellets in boilers. This section specifies types of pellets, their production and problems of combustion in boilers associated with formation of emissions. The second chapter specifies valid legislation and emissions limits. The third chapter describes fuel analysis of agropellets samples. This includes an analysis in order to determine the properties and chemical composition of agropellets resulting in determination of gross heat and calorific value. The fourth chapter evaluates agropellets influence on boilers and emissions creation on the basis of data and knowledge. The results are compared with data of other commonly used solid fuel found in literature sources.

Impact of Fuel Parameters on Operating Conditions of Biomass Boiler
Uhrík, Patrik ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to assess affect of fuel moisture like most important characteristic of biomass to combustion process and boiler operation. The theoretical part describes a fuel biomass and its monitored parameters. In experimental part is evaluation of impact monitored characteristics to combustion process.
Impact of Secondary Air Temperature on Biomass Combustion
Vilga, Filip ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to make research work about the issue of biomass combustion and the experimental realization with practical verification of the effect of secondary air temperature on emmisions resulting from biomass combustion. Theoretical part describes the creation, usage and combustion of biomass focusing on combustion air. The experimental section describes the effect of the temperature of the secondary air on formation of emissions from the combustion of selected biomass type.
Appliances for solid fuel for heating
Lackovič, Roman ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Štelcl, Otakar (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis "Appliances for solid fuel for heating" aims on the issue of emission measurement for solid fuel boilers. The first part is a theoretical introduction, where solid fuels are described, following are the types of appliances, which are powered by solid fuels. There are described legislation related to emission limits and principles of devices used for measururing emissions of solid fuel appliances at the end of the theoretical part. The second part is the attention devoted to description of measurement, that we have done, calculation of efficiency and emissions for measurement. Lastly, there is specified emission class to which the boiler, according to measurement, belongs.
Technology of Selective Catalytic Reduction for Passenger Cars
Jurík, Juraj ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes the selective catalytic reduction technology. It concerned of reducing nitrogen oxides in diesel engines. It describes components of the technology, their function and location in system. in first chapter there are described harmful substances of exhaust gas in connection with this technology. Second chapter contains description of emission standards. Next chapters are describing selective catalytic reduction and solutions of some manufacturers.
