Potential of cholesterol-loaded cyclodextrins and low density lipoprotein for increasing the efficiency of cryopreservation of epididymal sperms in stallions
Janošíková, Martina ; Rajmon, Radko (advisor)
In the case of sudden death or injury stallion reproductive system or necessary castration preventing the collection of semen can to preserve the genetic potential of exceptional individuals take advantage of epididymal sperm. Virtually the only way, how to preserve fertilizing sperm POTENTIAL for long time IS cryopreservation. However, this process induces irreversible changes that are the cause of the reduced number of sperm capable of fertilization after thawing. Epididymal sperm cells have properties different from the ejaculated, harder to keep. Therefore, they are constantly looking for ways to streamline their cryopreservation. GENERAL most commonly used cryoprotectants include glycerol and Egg yolk. Despite the positive effects is glycerol toxic to cells and Egg yolk also contains ingredients that act on sperm metabolism negatively. Increasing the efficiency of cryopreservation protocols themselves likely to be achieved by replacing toxic components while leveraging industry-produced active yolk fractions. Submitted dissertation topic itself will deal with the use of cholesterol-loaded cyclodextrins Along with low density lipoproteins, the cryopreservation of epididymal sperm. Main method: HPLC, Western blot, electrophoresis, fluorescent labels, computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA).

A contribution to the theory and practice of representation of passions in visual arts around 1800
Ježková, Markéta ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Prahl, Roman (referee)
The presented thesis deals with the French classicism theory of mechanism and representation of passions as the source of some art works created in the region of Bohemia around the year 1800. The theory of mechanism and representation of passions was developed in Paris at Academie Royalle de Peinture & Sculpture (Academy of Fine Arts) during the 17th century. The academicians were working on a project of creation of an universal model, which was based on the current scholastic discoveries and ancient Rome, to set a guideline to produce a piece of art which could "call" the spectator, touch his heart, allow him to read the presented story and recognize passions which the figures were undergoing. The way to reach this complex aim was initiated by René Descaretes in his writing "Passion of the Soul". His writing was lately modified and enriched by illustrations of Charles Le Brun, the artist of the king's court. Students of art were facilitated to learn and understand of the causes that lead in the expression of passions in the human face. Young artist were allowed to understand the passions, which were not publicly know because of the strict standards of social behavior. Le Brun's drawings of the human face were mostly neutral so they could be used for both sexes in various contexts. The Le Brun's writing was...

My PhD. thesis Europe, the Third World and postcolonialism attemps to examine and sum up current European debatě on immigrants from the Third World and set up a a frame for iťs future charakter. The topič is being delt with not only from both political and economical perspective but also as an issue of academie discussion. The thesis emphasises academie discussion as an important part of European immigration policy. While the issue of immigration in a day to day perspective means open borders with clearly defined conditions for those willing to enter, in academie view the debatě is rarely fřee from discourse of postcolonialism with iťs tendency towards victimization. Immigrants are victimized by the academics while demonized by politicians and others. However, the question of guilt seems to be crucial for academie discussion and a way one perceives power relation between Europe and iťs prior colonies. This PhD. thesis tries to avoid mistakes of both sides, politicians and academics, tries to avoid their victimization and self guilt as well as demonization of immigrants. There are two traeks the chapters follow. From obvious to hidden and from Europeans to immigrants. The first one inroduces brief history of European immigration with attention to its particular steps and concludes reflecting academie...

Computed tomography of the intestinal tract, usage, advantages and disadvantages of this metod
SMOLÁKOVÁ, Eva
In presented essay author tries to offer comprehensive overview of possibilities of computer tomography (CT) in examination of the intestinal tract at her radiologic department. Introduction of Multidetector CT represents outstanding advance in spatial resolution in z - axis and accelerated data acquisition wihout increase of radiation dose. All these advantages of Multidetector CT project strongly onto examination of the intestines. At author´s department CT enterography and CT colonography replaced to the background classic methods as irrigoscopy and enteroclysis. The feasibility of assessment of the intestinal tract and other abdominal organs at the same time is the most significant contribution of this method. At our department we note progressive decrease of number of enteroclysis examinations since the year 2003. Limitations of this method are radiation exposure, intravenous application of iodine contrast medium and impossibility to obtain specimens for histologic examination. We expect, that future technologies will reduce some of these disadvantages.
