Ab initio calculations of BN molecule and small fused hydrocarbons with single-reference and Brillouin-Wigner multireference coupled clusters methods
Veis, Libor
The topic of the diploma thesis is calculations with single-reference and Brillouin-Wigner multireference coupled clusters methods. In the beginning, the brief overview of the theory of selected quantum chemical methods with emphasis on the theory of coupled clusters (single reference as well as multireference) is presented. Third chapter deals with calculations of the lowest lying singlet and triplet states of boron nitride molecule (BN). The lowest singlet state (1+) exhibits multireference character and this molecule is thus a suitable candidate for testing of newly developed computational methods. Vibrational frequencies, anharmonicities and singlet-triplet energy splitting were calculated with different variants of multireference Brillouin-Wigner coupled clusters method (MR BWCC). The results were compared with experimental values and the results of single-reference and reduced multireference coupled clusters. The fourth and fifth chapters present the study of a series of seven small fused cyclopentanes of the formula C5H2n (n = 0 - 4) [1]. The existence of local minima of all seven structures was verified at the CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ level. Their stability was predicted according to enthalpies of formation and strain energies. 1H and 13C NMR spectra (chemical shifts), IR and Raman spectra were...

Transformation of fly ash from Pb metallurgy in soils
Valigurová, Radka ; Ettler, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Komárek, Michael (referee)
The fly ash from secondary lead metallurgy was placed in two different soils in order to investigate the kinetics of release (in a time horizon of 504 h) and mobility of metals/metalloids in soil water and soil. Uncontaminated soils used for the pot experiment were two: acidified forest soil N and agricultural soil H. An experimental bag containing 0.5 g of fly ash was placed in a pot with 200 g of soil, which was watered using deionised water at the 60 % water holding capacity (WHC) level. Using Rhizon pore water samplers the soil solution was regularly sampled and subsequently analysed. The soil solution analysis was supplemented by the geochemical speciation-solubility modelling using the PHREEQC-2 code and the mineralogical investigation of solid phase. For Cd, Zn and As the release in soil water had similar behaviour in time: during first 96 hours of the experiment their concentration increased up to maximum values and then slowly decreased till the end of experiment. This trend has not been observed for Cu, Pb and Sb, being tightly bound to secondary phases newly formed directly in the fly ash or to soil constituents, or indicating possible resistance to leaching. Weight loss after the experiment for the fly ash was in both soils approximately 60 %, indicating high level of its dissolution....

Oil and gas pipelines policy of Kazakhstan
Auyesbayeva, Saltanat ; Hnízdo, Bořivoj (advisor) ; Romancov, Michael (referee)
The importance of Kazakhstan as being oil and gas supplier has been steadily growing in the last decade. The policy of Government of Kazakhstan has focused on the energy sector. Kazakhstan is an oil rich country. Nevertheless it does not have direct access to the sea and international markets. Thus, it has to look for ways to export hydrocarbons. The best way to transport oil and gas is using pipelines. This thesis deal with oil and gas pipelines policy of Kazakhstan after independence. Introductory part describes newly emerged geopolitics in Central Asia. The following chapter offers a brief outline of what pipelines do function in Kazakhstan. The next part is an analysis of the policy of Kazakhstan towards oil and gas industry. The following parts cover foreign policy of Kazakhstan towards its neighbors and economics of the pipelines. The last part discusses what new export pipelines will be constructed in the nearest future. The author concludes that for the time being Kazakhstan is heavily dependent on Russia, all its efforts to diversify its export routes notwithstanding. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

New learned compound elements in French
DAŇKOVÁ, Ivana
The topic of this thesis is "New confixes in French". This thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and analytical. The first part is theoretical and describes the historical development of "confixation" (learned compounding) as well as different theories and approaches to the word formation process. This part also defines "confixation" to other word formation processes (derivation and composition) and the structural component of "confixation" - a "confix". The second part is analytical and deals with specific learned stems (confixes) and learned compounding. The study material for this part of the thesis has been gained by the data excerption from the corpus Sketch Engine. The sample excerpted from the corpus is the subject of the analysis. The analysis focuses on the classic and modern confixes and their typology: classification of confixes according to the position in the learned compounding, or according to the origin, etc. The analysis also treats the morphological categories of learned compounding and their internal structure. The main focus is drawn to modern confixes that were created mostly by the change of meaning of the classic confix. This part deals with the newly created confixes in French that do not have the direct Greek or Latin base. These are mostly loanwords from English. The main aim of present thesis is to identify newly created confix compounds in comtemporary French.

Derivatives of Rhodanine as Potential Drugs III

Diploma thesis Rhodanine derivatives as potential drugs III. Stanislava Kalafutová In the first part of the diploma thesis there is generally written about different types of tuberculosis in the various aspects as ethiology, pathogenesis and pharamacotherapy. The second part is focused on the newly tested potential antituberculotic drugs. Especially in the third part there are mentioned different drug targets of these promising antituberculotics. Finally the fourth part of the theoretical introduction briefly summarizes currently used drugs in the treatment of this infectous disease. The experimental work deals with number of synthesis of following compounds: 5-(3-bromobenzylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(2- bromobenzylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(3-chlorobenzylidene)-2- thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(2-chlorobenzylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine- 4-one, 5-(4-fluorobenzylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(3- fluorobenzylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(2-fluorobenzylidene)-2- thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(pyridine-4-ylmetylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3- thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(pyridine-3-ylmetylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one, 5-(furane-2-ylmetylidene)-2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidine-4-one. All synthesized compounds were tested for an antifungal and antibacterial...

Study of the performance of yeast MDR pumps by fluorescent probes: effect of potential inhibitors
Drietomská, Andrea ; Gášková, Dana (advisor)
Using a set of five isogenic mutant strains, we tested the effects of a set of twelve aminoesters of fatty acids belonging to two structural groups, which have been previously classified among lysosomotropic antifungals (LA), on membrane potential and the activity of MDR pumps Pdr5p, Snq2p and Yor1p in S. cerevisiae by a newly developed assay - a combination of the diS-C3(3) method and biological tests [1]. Depending on their chemical structure and concentration, the LA displayed several effects: (a) membrane depolarization, (b) interaction with MDR pumps, and (c) membrane damage leading to cell permeabilization. Membrane depolarization was observed with nearly all LA while only three of the tested compounds interacted with the MDR pumps - a competitive inhibition was detected. The above diagnostic fluorescence method using the cationic redistribution probe diS-C3(3) can readily be employed to exclude from the group of potential inhibitors those compounds (even though they can be substrates of Pdr5p and Snq2p) that do not satisfy the necessary condition of inhibiting MDR pumps Pdr5p and Snq2p already at low concentration.

Development of pupils' independence by using the project method
Kretíková, Olga ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Holemá, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine whether it is possible to develop pupils' independence by way of the project method, which is based on my own practical experience. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes and evaluates the knowledge gained by studying the available literature on the topic of pupils' independence and the theme of project method. The conclusion of the theoretical part summarises the bases for the development of the self- reliance via project method. The practical part analyses my previous teaching experiences, like the use of project method in terms of pupils' independence and this analysis is followed up with the practical research, based on a new project which is focused on the development of the pupils' independence in the activating teaching methods that have not been used yet. The part of the appendix includes final pieces of pupils' works from some of the projects described in the practical part, pupils' mind maps from their projects and photo documentation of the newly realised project, which was aimed at developing pupils' independence. In conclusion, I validate, based on my own research, the hypothesis that the targeted use of project method leads to the development of the pupils'...

Quality of Service Provision in Wireless Networks
Hnilička, Miroslav ; Janeček, Jan (advisor) ; Peterka, Jiří (referee)
This thesis aims at quality of service provisioning mechanisms in wireless packet networks. The main target of the work is multiple hops wireless networks area in which the problem is more general than in access networks. Theoretical part of the thesis analyses the problem and shows detailed insight of possible solutions. Practical part of the thesis focuses on more specific problem. Impacts of using different particular mechanisms on link and network layers are studied here, considering wireless mesh networks based on IEEE 802.11b technology (WiFi). Simulation model MeshQoS is designed on the basis of discrete simulation system OMNeT++. Inside this model, there are implemented two routing protocols - AODV defined by IETF and newly proposed hybrid opportunistic protocol OMR (OpportunisticMesh Routing). Results of experiments with this model helps to get the notion of the level of quality of services achievable in particular mesh networks configurations. They also show the positive effects of using opportunistic routing principle. In most scenarios OMR provide much lower latency, higher delivery probability and higher throughput.
