Konopásková, Jana ; Bernard, Josef (advisor) ; Stupková, Vlasta (referee)
This thesis explores the topic of adolescence and employment of mentally disabled young people. The theoretical section summarizes the knowledge on the topic and also introduces the methology of transition programme in the nonFgovernmental organization Rytmus. The core of the paper rests in the analytical section which deals with the findings of a topical research project focused on parents of mentally disabled young people. The goal of this project was to describe, how the parents deal with their children's transition from school to adult life and what are their most acute fears in this period. In addition to this, it aimed to find out, if the transition programme was at all helpful. The whole analytical section is interwoven with a continual comparison of two groups of respondents F parents of children who have participated in the transition programme and parents of children who have not. This comparison helps me to find out what is the role of transition programme in parent' s lives. The analysis of discussed problem is divided into four thematic blocks: School, Transition period, Employment, The role of transition programme. The qualitative analysis of interviews followed the principles of grounded theory. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Šilhánová, Lucie ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
Tandemat - didactic game for the teaching of mathematics at the secondary school The thesis concerns a didactic game called Tandemat which I have created as a complement for the teaching of mathematics at secondary schools. The goal of the thesis is to find out and describe the potential of this game for the teaching of mathematics at this school level. First, the importance of games in our lives and also in teaching is mentioned. Next, some resources concerning games in the teaching of mathematics are described. The core of the thesis consists of the game Tandemat which I have elaborated and which is inspired by the popular game Activity. The results of the pilot studies of the game with the preliminary name Aktivity which were realized at elementary school and university helped to improve the game into its present version Tandemat. This has been tested by five groups of pupils in four classes of a secondary grammar school. The experiments were recorded and the acquired data were analyzed using the method based on the grounded theory approach. Moreover, a questionnaire was administered to pupils, concerning their grades in mathematics and the Czech language and their remarks on the game itself. The results of the analyses, observations and questionnaires show the potential and the limits of...

Students of the Unity of Brethern at the beginning of the 17th century or priests-to-be from the archive of Matouš Konečný
Růčková, Markéta ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (referee)
In the course of reconstruction works in the area of the former cloister Na Karmeli in Mladá Boleslav in August 2006 the builders found two wooden boxes. The boxes were buried under the backfilling material of the arch of the cloister's ground floor. They have preserved the so-called Archive of Matouš Konečný (1572-1622), one of the last bishops of the Unity of Brethren before the Battle of White Mountain in 1620. The unilateral correspondence dating back to the first two decades of the 17th century constitutes the main part of the excavated archival documents. The correspondence which was addressed to Matouš Konečný is composed partly of letters from students (or to be precise priests-to-be of the Unity of Brethren). These letters constitute the basis of the submitted diploma thesis. Firstly, the author offers the basic characteristic of the mentioned archival findings and resumes hitherto scholarship related to the theme. Then the main core of the thesis is focused on the education of priests-to-be in the Unity of Brethren. This education took place in Brethren houses and was provided by priests. The quality of the knowledge passed on the pupils depended on knowledge and experience of these priests. The organization of this type of education was regulated by the church's order. Despite the fact that the...

Speaking the mind, minding the language
Vraný, Martin ; Palkoska, Jan (referee) ; Peregrin, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis proposes to address the mind-body problem, and specif- ically the question of scienti c explanation of consciousness, in terms of language and meaning. First, the core of the mind- problem is identi ed with Kant's transcendental unity of apper- ception and the distinction between empirical and transcendental consciousness is emphasized. Empirical consciousness, as con- sciousness of something, is assumed to be best approached by a higher-order theory of consciousness. Then various aspects of meaning, intentionality and language in use are discussed to pre- pare ground for the conclusion that transcendental conditions of consciousness are entailed by conditions of being a genuine speaker of language. Thus language can be said to be constitutive consciousness not only in the sense that the behavioural criteria for attributing consciousness are essentially linguistic, but also in the sense that consciousness comes with the ability to speak.

The meaning of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale for school-age children
Čechová, Vlasta ; Kučera, Miloš (referee) ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor)
The topic of this thesis is focused on the meaning of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale for children of the primary school age. The core motive of the fairy tale is the threat of being swallowed up which every child would face if his wish to get rid of one of his parents in order to gain the affection of the parent of the opposite gender was fulfilled. Oedipus Complex is thus at the root of the fairy tale about a cute, innocent girl who is swallowed up by a wolf (Bettelheim, p. 162) and who allowed the wolf to swallow up her grand-mother. Coping with the theme of being swallowed up (e.g. the Oedipal Conflict) throughout the school years, the child psychosexual development is the subject of our analysis. In the sample of children studied, the tendency to choose the Little Red Riding Hood as a fairy tale of special personal importance decreases in inverse proportion to the child's age. This means that the older the pupils are the less likely they are to choose the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. The only exception was the second and sixth grade, where we can observe a significantly higher percentage of the pupils choosing the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. We suppose that the high proportion of the pupils choosing the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale in the second grade resulted from sexual...

The trends of spending leisure time in Náchodsko region (a comparative study in the rural area)
Kozáková, Helena ; Hudečková, Helena (advisor) ; Tomáš, Tomáš (referee)
Free time in today's life is becoming more and more important. The development of modern society and specialization of labor market today divides more obviously time for responsibilities and pastime. Leisure time is a very individual matter and its form is dependent on many aspects. Age and the size of the place of residence belong to those aspects that influence spending our free time. The relation between them became the core topic of this thesis. The practical part is based on my own research in three urban areas of different size in Nachod district. The research analyses the offer of free time activities as well as the attitude of the inhabitants in relation to their age and the size of town. The core task of this practical part was to look for any causal links. Deeper analysis shows that there is a certain coherence between the age of inhabitants, the size of their town and the style of spending leisure time, nevertheless this influence is not very significant. It is above all a very individual matter.

Rural renewal - a small village example
Hušková, Barbora ; Majerová, Věra (advisor) ; Petra, Petra (referee)
This thesis, created under the topic of rural renewal, illustrates the rural area and its renewal topic on the example of a small village, specifically East Bohemian village Kosice. To do so it firstly defines a theoretical platform consisting of core concepts in rural areas such as country, village, municipality and influencing entities. The second part of this thesis contains theoretical studies focusing on rural development and renewal with the definition of development support instruments, levels and entities; it also describes potentials and summarizes factors and trends affecting rural life, including migration trends. The first practical part studies and analyzes Kosice, its development over time and current situation which enables inclusion of the village among the rural ones and determination of the research basis. The actual research is based on acquired theoretical and practical knowledge. To consider local specifics a qualitative research consisting of an interview with a mayor is carried out, followed by a quantitative research through questionnaire survey to gain the residents´ perspective on the current development and the possible future development of the village. The results are processed using statistical methods and used to propose recommendations to the village for its future activities according to the obtained opinion of its population.
