Hydrogen production from renewable energy source
Lakva, Petr ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
Hydrogen, as a form of storage for the excess energy from renewable sources, is a technically and economically viable option. However, the technology is not mature enough to compete with the other renewable energy possibilities. In this thesis, a study based on coupling two 330 kW wind-turbines with an NELP. 40 electrolyzer this connection should improve the utilization of wind power. In this thesis are two options of energy utilization. The energy produced by the wind-turbine is stored in the form, of hydrogen and is then delivered for consumption at variable power through a fuel cell, second option is use of produced hydrogen as alternative fuel for cars. This study is a general introduction for the wind energy system with hydrogen storage. Future studies should be more complex and detailed in order to understand and model the system with greater accuracy and to increase the possibility for the utilization of wind energy to generate hydrogen. This would enhance wind power competitiveness and sustain the continuously changing world energy demands.
Design of small Wind Turbine System With Savonius Rotor
Foltýn, Petr ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Procházka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This Bachelor’s thesis deals with proposal of constructional solving of wind turbine system with Savonius rotor. In the first part, thesis includes complex theoretic knowledge, that make for optimal construction wind energy source. In the second part, the concrete proposal of small wind turbine system has been drawn up, including 3D model and constructional drawings in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009.
Wind Turbine Model for Research and Laboratory Applications
Števček, Tomáš ; Ptáček, Michal (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
A major portion of this thesis is devoted to the Whisper 200 wind turbine model in Matlab-Simulink environment. The turbine is installed at the Department of Electrical Power Engineering, FEEC BUT. In the model, several types of simulations can be executed. On that basis, the power curve and mathematical relationships between wind speed and other physical quantities, such as RPM, electic current, and voltage, were obtained. Comparisons of the simulations' results with measurement data illustrate adequate agreement, but limitations of the model remain significant, as is exhaustively documented and commented upon in the thesis. As a partial advancement towards elimination of the model's deficiencies, conditions for substantial performance improvements of the dynamic simulation have been elaborately derived.
Wind energy
Král, Ondřej ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis discuss wind energy sector. The first chapter focuses on basic construction types of wind power plants, their classification and description of the main parts. Basic physical principles by which electrical energy is produced, presents the next section, which deals with the lifetime of wind turbines, too. The final chapter describes the development of wind power in history, wind energy is here compared with other energy sources, and finally it is dedicated to matter of wind turbines’ energy payback.
Offshore and inland type of wind power
Chromec, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis focuses on wind energy sector. The first part describes the modern history of this industry. The brief description of the main differences between onshore and offshore wind farms followed an extensive chapter, which describes the diversification of wind power solutions and diversification in the case of wind farms located on the sea. Fluctuating needs for backup power sources in this work is included in chapter, which briefly describes the most appropriate energy storage devices. This is followed by section dealing with the economics of wind turbines. Possible negative impacts of wind energy are discussed in the final chapter about environmental impacts associated with wind power applications.
Wind Power Station
Graboń, Marek ; Škvařil, Jan (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
First part of thesis describe conditions for the operation of the wind power station such wind, effectiveness. The thesis deals with the technical solutions of power plants, and describes how to control wind turbines and how to connect to the network. Last part of thesis describes influence of wind power plants on environment and shows economic evaluation.
Řízení vztlaku a odtržení na lopatkách vetrných elektrárenúčinkem vírů majících osy orientované ve směru proudění
Tesař, Václav ; Kordík, Jozef ; Daněk, Martin
Paper describes two alternative versions of wind-turbine blade section models for tests in wind tunnel aimed at lift control at high angles of attack. They use synthetic jet (or hybrid-synthetic jet) exiting at 18 % of the chord length on the upper (suction) surface. Otherwise the two layouts are different. In version A the single synthetic jet issues from a continuous exit slit across the full span. In the other version B, a large number of small hybrid-synthetic jets exit in an anti-parallel manner (180 deg phase shift between neighbours) from a row of orifices, switched by an array of small fluidic valves inside the model. Rather surprisingly, despite the differences, the lift control in both layouts was found to be due to generation of vortices with streamwise orientation of their axes.
The public opinion poll concerning the problems of the usage of renewable energy sources in the municipalities of Rakov, Horní Netčice, Býškovice, Malhotice and Opatovice
Frantál, Bohumil
The study presents results from the questionnaire survey made on May 7th, 2008 with inhabitants of the municipalities that have been identified as potential areas for wind turbines development (Rakov, Horní Netčice, Býškovice, Malhotice and Opatovice).
Kolísání napětí dodávaného větrnými turbínami s asynchronními generátory a s dvojitě napájenými stroji
Chomát, Miroslav ; Schreier, Luděk ; Bendl, Jiří
The impact of wind turbines and wind farms on the power grid is becoming increasingly important and much attention has recently been paid to the issues associated with operation of wind turbines in power systems. One of the most important power quality problems caused by wind power plants are large fluctuations of generated power due to varying wind speed and due to the construction of the wind turbine itself
Hodnocení investičního projektu větrné elektrárny
Chomát, Jakub ; Hnilica, Jiří (advisor) ; Scholleová, Hana (referee)
The paper describes the market environment in the field of wind energy. Its aim is to evaluate a concrete investment project of a wind turbine from an investor's point of view. The investor assesses a potential construction of a wind turbine through considering experts's judgments. As an example, three different variations of financing were chosen. On each of these variations standard methods of effectiveness evaluation were applied
