Railway track deformation measurement
Leischner, Ludvík ; Bureš, Jiří (referee) ; Švábenský, Otakar (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about measuring deformations on railway bridge in Znojmo. The horizontal and vertical changes of railway track on the bridge and newly renovated bridge construction were measured by using two independent methods, namely 3D polar method and kinematic GNSS Stop & Go method. The assessment of the longitudinal shifts depending on atmospheric conditions especially the temperature changes is an essential goal of this work. Another key aim is the determination of precision of both independ-ent measuring methods.
Influence of high temperatures on concrete properties
Klobása, Jan ; Křížová, Klára (referee) ; Sedlmajer, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to study the problem of the behavior of concrete under high temperatures. The theoretical part of the work summarizes the knowledge about the changes that take place in concrete when it is exposed to a high thermal load that simulates the effects of fire. It also summarizes the effect of high temperatures on the behavior of the individual components that make up concrete. Emphasis is placed on describing the possibilities of eliminating concrete damage at high temperatures. Furthermore, the principles of changes and events due to high temperatures simulating the effect of fire are described. The experimental part summarizes the knowledge related to the composition of concrete, the use of different types of fibers, and other measures in loading concrete at high temperatures. Steps influencing the negative impact on the properties and resistance of concrete to high temperatures are also described. Based on the summarized findings, conclusions are formulated.
Modelling of water distributor in a steam conditioning valve
Polášek, Radek ; Juřena, Tomáš (referee) ; Hájek, Jiří (advisor)
The purpose of the thesis is to create a model for an analysis of a steam conditioning valve whose function is to reduce the temperature of the steam using a spray water system. First of all, simulation of the fluid flow and heat transfer is done using CFD analysis. Then the results are used for thermal stress calculation.
Anisotropy of thermal expansion in magnesium materials exhibiting texture
Škraban, Tomáš ; Drozd, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Mathis, Kristián (referee)
Magnesium alloys are valued for their low density and good mechanical pro- perties. Their characteristic is the tendency to obtain a texture during processing, which together with their hcp crystal structure results in the anisotropy of some physical properties. In this work we examine the effect of the texture on the aniso- tropy of thermal expansion of the widely used AZ31 and ZE10 magnesium alloys. These alloys are in the form of thin rolled sheets and we examine them in an as-recieved state and in a condition after an annealing. The measured samples are cut out of the metal sheet in the direction of rolling and in the perpendicular direction. The measurement is carried out in the temperature range from room temperature to 400 ◦ C. Measuring of the thermal expansion of sheets is problema- tic because they can bend and devalue the measurement results. The result of this work is a confirmation of the existence of this anisotropy and its description. 1
Turbine Housing of Turbocharger VNT with Separated Pulses in Exhaust Manifold
Polášek, Jan ; Doman, Jozef (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of the turbine housing of turbocharger VNT for supplying separated pressure pulses from the exhaust manifold. Subsequently, the work includes strength analysis of the designed turbine housing. The aim of the thesis is to create components for the supply of separate pressure pulses as close as possible to the turbine. Furthermore, the modification of the existing turbine housing and the assessment of the functionality of the VNT mechanism after this modification and strength analysis. The final aim of this thesis is the creation of 2D and 3D technical documentation of newly designed and modified parts.
The Effect of Production Technology on the Properties of Forsterite
Nguyen, Martin ; Keršnerová,, Lucie (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the effect of production technology on the properties of forsterite. The theoretical part contains the fundamental parameters and the use of forsterite in the industry together with various possibilities of forsterite production. The main emphasis is placed on the characteristics of the raw materials for production as well as the raw materials possibilities of the Czech Republic. The end of the theoretical part contains a design for the production technology of forsterite, which will be verified in the practical part. The practical part verifies the use of various raw materials for the composition of the raw material mixture. The created test specimens were subjected to the X-ray diffraction analysis, the determination of tensile bending strength, thermal conductivity coefficient, apparent porosity, bulk density, apparent density, water absorption, permanent change in dimension on heating, refractoriness, thermal expansion coefficient, refractoriness under load and the thermal shock resistance. At the end of the practical part is the verification of the design of the production technology of forsterite.

Deformation Surveying of Railway Track
Suchánek, Zbyněk ; Bureš, Jiří (referee) ; Švábenský, Otakar (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis was to measure and evaluate shifts of rail strip and deck of the bridge in the 0,206 km route Zábřeh - Bludov across the river Moravská Sázava. The measurement was performed by classical geodetic methods. The result of the study was evaluation of the three periods of deformation measurements and numerical and graphical documentation. Shifts were caused especially by changes in temperature and operational effects.
Validation options for increasing the thermal insulating properties of foam plastics
Smutný, Vojtěch ; Kopřivík, František (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The thesis is devoted to the study of material properties of selected types of polystyrene, especially expression of the coefficient of linear thermal expansion. The work contains two main chapters, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with an overview of the thermal insulation in the Czech Republic, the description of phenomena related to heat transfer mechanisms and an overview of experimental methods for determining thermal insulating properties. The practical part presents results of measurements of samples with foamed polystyrene, which is modified by the addition of selected substances. The thesis describes the machine program, which is used to calculate the temperature in during the construction arrangement under the sunlight load.
Effect of calcite content in brick clays on the properties of fired body
Šafaříková, Hana ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This master´s thesis is focused on the use of primary raw materials (clays) in the brick manufacturing. These soils differ mainly CaO contect and it most often in the form of calcite. Diversity of soils is manifested primarily in the mineralogical composition after firing and the existence of anorthite in the calcium clays. In the practical part I am trying to define the optimal type of soil suitable for the production of masonry units.
