Jakub Gemrot, Ph.D., Department of Software and Computer Science Education Abstract: Playing a massively multi-player on-line real-time strategy game is connected with expectation of playing with other players close to your position in the game. Some games of this kind have a very long life cycle where the progress of each player is persistent. A match can take months, even years to finish. However, every match is very dependent on the amount of participants which is not always ideal. Different seasons of the year can cause massive drops in the amount of players. There have already been attempts to incorporate an artificial intelligence to these matches, but the goal was to provide a win condi- tion instead of fighting a decreasing player base. That is why we have started developing a framework which includes the basic mechanics of the game and al- lows customization of basic game elements such as units, resources, buildings or entire nations. Part of the framework is an artificial intelligence which is capable of playing games created using the framework along with players. RNDr. Pavel Valtr Dr. Supervisor's email address: valtr@kam.mff.cuni.cz Abstract In the thesis we study grid drawings of graphs and their connections with graph colorings. A grid drawing of a graph maps vertices to distinct points of the grid Zd and edges to line segments that avoid grid points representing other vertices. We show that a graph G is qd -colorable, d, q ≥ 2, if and only if there is a grid drawing of G in Zd in which no line segment intersects more than q grid points. Second, we study grid drawings with bounded number of columns, introducing some new NP- complete problems. We also show a sharp lower bound on the area of plane grid drawings of balanced complete k-partite graphs, proving a conjecture of David R. Wood. Finally, we show that any planar graph has a planar grid drawing where every line segment contains exactly two grid points. This result proves conjectures of D. Flores Pe˝naloza and F. J. 3D Face Reconstruction

The top of this thesis is 3D face reconstruction by the help the projected regular grid from the 2D image. It also includes the grid detection and the description of methods that are needed to raster image processing. The application was written in C++ programming language, it uses OpenCV graphic library, and also it is designed for OS Windows XP and higher.
Scene Analysis Based on the 2D Images

This thesis deals with an object surface analysis in a simple scene represented by two-dimensional raster image. It summarizes the most common methods used within this branch of information technology and explains both their advantages and drawbacks. It introduces the design of an surface profile analysis algorithm based on the lighting analysis using knowledge and experiences from previous work. It contains a detailed description of the implemented algorithm and discusses the experimental results. It also brings up options for the possible enhancement of the projected algorithm.

City Library, Lausanne

Project for the new houses of city library and mediatheque, solves the concept of redesigning the old industry area Sevelin in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland. Here should the new social and education district takes place, what brings a new metropolitan lifestyle. Two objects of library and mediatheque end up the rows of rational city grid at this platform. They define the new open space in between as a new entrance area on the platform Sevelin. It becomes also the extension of library activities to the urban space. Here also the new metro station takes place. Concept of the library – “house in house, city in the city” creates the group of three volumes situated under one roof. The houses of adults’ library, youth library and administration define two atriums in between. Here the life of the whole building meets together. Volume of mediatheque steps up the row and shows the new direction of our culture and media.
High resolution computed tomography - its role and position in radiodiagnostics

In the introduction to my bachelor´s thesis, I have described the historical background of HRCT, its origins, and evolution. The historical part includes information about the development of CT equipment and the principles of diagnostics using the instruments that preceded HRCT. In the following part, I have described the principle of how HRCT works and the conditions that are needed for HRCT examination. I focused on lung examination and partly also on the examination of temporal bone. The objective of my thesis is to determine the frequency of CT and HRCT application, for the purposes of which I compared two leasing hospitals in the South Bohemian region. I issued from the hypothesis of a higher frequency of HRCT use. In my bachelor´s work I used foreign literature and sources and also the method of comparing data from two hospitals. The preferred method was the quantitative one, used for numerical statistics in the theoretical part; for the practical part I used the mentioned comparison of the number of examinations performed at two hospitals in South Bohemia. When confronting the two hospitals, a significantly higher frequency of HRCT use was found in Nemocnice Tábor a.s. This fact is explained by the use of Aquilion 16, which is a lower ? quality appliance, and Aquilion 64 in České Budějovice, as well as by the monitoring of patients with fibrosing processes (so ? called cordarone lung, etc.), and patients with unclear small lesions appearing on summing images when only HRCT examination was performed. HRCT is also performed as a part of routine examination of the lungs and mediastinum if the indication requires it, while check ? up examinations run only under the HRCT algorithm. In conclusion it can be stated that the difference between the examinations in hospital České Budějovice a.s. and Nemocnice Tábor a.s. is based on the difference between their equipment and also the slightly different approach to small lesions in the pulmonary parenchyma.The hypothesis that the HRCT examination is used more frequently than the common CT examination of the lungs and mediastinum was not confirmed, which results from the fact that the number od patients needing the examination of just small or larger changes in the pulmonary parenchyma is substantially lower than the number of patients with indicated classical examination of the lungs and mediastinum.
