Laboratory exercises explaining the principles of network technologies and protocols
Hricko, Tomáš ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Langhammer, Lukáš (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create two exercises for students. The first exercise is concerned with comparison of transport protocols TCP and UDP. The second exercise is concerned with comparison of routing protocols OSPF and RIP. The first part describes used simulation environment. The next part describes the operating system used in routers. The following part describes the procedure of installing virtual machines. The next part consists of theory of protocols TCP, UDP, OSPF and RIP. The last two chapters are the laboratory exercises.
Virtualization of laboratory tasks for the CISCO course
Technologies for Quality of Service Assurance in IP Networks and their mutual Cooperation
Oujezský, Václav ; Skořepa, Michal (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This barchelor thesis deals with complex description of technologies and particular ways providing quality services in IP networks. It is especially oriented on architecture of IntServ and DiffServ and their possible ways of mutual cooperation. In practical part, the testing of architectures mentioned is made and their characteristics in network emulator program GNS3.
Laboratory exercises explaining network technologies using various simulation instruments
Vaľuš, Dávid ; Ilgner, Petr (referee) ; Bečková, Zuzana (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the preparation of an operating system, a simulation environment and the creation of two laboratory exercises explaining network technologies. In the theoretical part protocols DHCP, FTP, TFTP, HTTP, and NAT service are described. The practical part focuses on the installation of ns-3 and GNS3 programmes and their utilization and settings on OS Ubuntu 18.10. Moreover, it deals with the preparation of laboratory exercises created in the simulation programmes mentioned above together with tutorials, self-check questions and HTTP server in the Python programming language.
MPLS based virtual private networks
Daněk, Michal ; Červenák, Rastislav (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
Master thesis deals with architecture of network based on multiprotocol label switching technology (MPLS). Work also describes use of this technology for point to point or multipoint connections based on network or data link layer. The practical part is focused on design of laboratory task which is aimed to configuration of virtual private LAN service (VPLS). This technology emulates multipoint connection based on the data link layer.
Design of new laboratory exercises for GNS3 environment
Barniak, Martin ; Koton, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with four laboratory tasks in simulation environment GNS3. Designed tasks are primarily focused on comparison of IPv4 and IPv6 protocols. In the first task the subject is concerned about OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 routing protocols. Next themes are transit techniques like NAT-PT and tunneling like GRE and 6to4. The second task is focused on configuration of routing protocols like EIGRP and EIGRPv6. Next sections are concerned about DHCP and ICMP protocols within IPv4 and IPv6 protocol suits. The third task is primarily focused on security relations of protocol suite IPv6. It contains OSPFv3 authentication, access lists and Cisco stateful IOS firewall. Content of the fourth task is protocol MPLS. First part of this task is concerned about basic configuration of this protocol and second part is focused on MPLS within IPv6 environment. All tasks contain test questions and individual part task.
Příprava virtualizační platformy pro výuku předmětů počítačových sítí
Fiša, Martin
This final bachelor's thesis focuses on the virtualization of a network laboratory designed for educational purposes. The first part of the thesis reviews simi-lar works identified through the keywords listed below. Subsequently, the basic information about virtualization and related concepts is presented in the following section. The reader is introduced to the possibilities of network simulation, with an analysis of their differences, advantages, and disadvantages. Based on this evaluation, a specific solution is chosen, which will then be elaborated. In the next section, a draft for the network laboratory is created, showcasing selected features. These features will be further detailed and explained, illustrating how they could function in a real-world environment. In conclusion, an overall assessment of the program is conducted, evaluating its potential suitability for creating virtual laboratory tasks in the teaching process at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Mendel University.
Analysis of VPN tunnel technologies
Šopík, Adam ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is primarily focused on the study of network tunnels and how they affect physical and network parameters. The advantages and disadvantages that different technologies bring with them are discussed. The aim of the thesis was to measure several types of network technologies and determine their effect on network operating parameters such as delay, throughput and CPU load. The thesis also includes the design of one lab assignment for students that focuses on troubleshooting tunnels. This assignment aims to provide students with hands-on experience and improve their skills in solving tunneling related problems.
Generation of IPv6 and ICMPv6 packets and their impact on the operation of network devices
Analysis of the influence of network technologies on the operating parameters of the device
Hynšt, Boris ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
This bachelor work is focused on study of networking technologies and their effect on physical performance of router. From all the performance variables, the most important for this work are CPU usage and available bandwidth, also how much can each of the technologies affect these variables. For this purpose simple topology was created and all of the technologies were measured and compared to each others. On top of that there was a simple test, that was put in place to find out, if it is possible to make these performance tests with chosen networking simulator.
