Key Factors of Prosperity of a Small Family Business

This Bachelor Paper deals with the situation of a small family business Veselý-servis s.r.o. and suggests measurements leading to the improvement of its prosperity. The theoretical part more closely defines the family business and its main specifications. It is followed by the analysis of topics like management, human resources management, financial management and marketing, which influence the effectiveness and economy of the business. The practical part focuses on the issues leading to the identification of problematic areas in the aforementioned fields, and finally presents the suggestions supporting the improvement of the business' welfare.
Project Planning: Opening the Italian foodstuffs shop

The work is focused on planning the project aiming at opening the Italian foodstuffs shop. In the theoretical part the main terms and definitions in project management are explained and the most frequent methods being used in project management are described. The practical part is concentrated on the project itself. For project planning the application Microsoft Office Project has been used. The periods of project duration and the total costs having been found out are compared with the trader demands and the decision concerning the project realization is taken.
Usage of freeware project management tools in the Czech Republic

The purpose of this thesis is to discover in what scale freeware project management tools are used in the Czech Republic. The specific goal of this thesis is to verify whether these two hypotheses are true: Freeware project management tools are not used by majority of organizations in the Czech Republic. Freeware project management tools do not reach the functionality level of commercial software. This objective is achieved firstly by making a survey in the whole state scale in the field of information and communication technology and secondly by evaluating the most widely used freeware project management tools, based on the survey, by their functionality level and by considering their ability to replace commercial software. The contribution of this thesis is to discover the actual state of project management tools usage in the Czech Republic, to introduce these facts to the companies at this market and to define the functionality level of presently used freeware project management tools. The structure of this thesis is based on three parts. The first part refers to general information about project management such as its terms, usage, processes, factors that affect goals of a project, methodologies and tools. The second part involves the analysis of project management tools usage in the Czech Republic. The third part provides the most widely used freeware project management tools evaluation analysis.
Training and development of management at Česká spořitelna

This thesis analyzes how managers are trained and developed at the Czech Savings Bank. The aim of this study is to thoroughly analyze management education and training in the bank and eventually propose various measures or improvements. Another key factor which this study explores is the role of the employee and his/her potential to develop into a manager or a leader. Leadership development is one of the key factors in management training today. The thesis takes a methodological approach and defines certain terms, which creates a basis for the practical part. The practical part of this study analyzes the system of managerial education in the Czech Saving Bank and examines the question of leadership in this context. I conclude by providing an overall evaluation of management training in the Czech Saving Bank, pointing out both its strengths and eventual weakness.
Logistics of medical facilities

The bachelor's thesis is dedicated to logistic support of medical facilities. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts of logistic. It describes operations, economics, activity and specificities of medical facilities. The last chapters of theoretical part deal with the information about the purchase and management of resources in health service. The practical part includes a description of a real situation of logistic support in two specific hospitals. It also includes a comparison of expenditures which arise in relation to supply management in the chosen departments of these hospitals. Contrasts are also dealt with.
Standing of women in management in the Czech Republic

Today the principle of equality between men and women is enforced in every advanced country. This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the standing of women in management in the Czech Republic. The problems concerning the representation of women in managerial posts has not been very thoroughly explored as of yet. The thesis analyses the situation of women in management. It examines the structure of women's representation in management and their wages. It discloses possible causes of the present state. Then the thesis evaluates critically policy's tools of equal opportunities and compares them with established tools from other countries from European Union.

This thesis will focused on the theory of project management and the development of a real project. Project management has evolved in recent decades, and has become increasingly popular with more people, hence changing the way that it is used. This thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces the basic terminology of project management, project methods (CPM, MPM, PERT), time analysis, cost analysis, risk and resource analysis, and how to work with MS Project. While the practical part of this thesis introduces automatic self-service checkouts in Tesco stores, in Prague. This is analysed by using MS Project, discussing all activities, resources and costs.

The purpose of the presented research is to identify these of the areas that significantly matter for the strong positive correlation between the Employee Enagement and the Service Quality in a particular business case concerning business process improvement of an order management team in a multinational company. The significant areas are identified through a correlation analysis of the answers to an online survey. The results are used for further Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control of the key areas identified. The main findings are aimed to serve as a scientifically validated plan of action for the group in charge for the business process improvement in the order management team which is studied. Particularly, recommendations are provided how to increase the First Time Right performance metrics of the order management team through focus on the Define part of the DMAIC model in the Six Sigma methodology for business process improvement. Main findins: there is evidence for strong significant positive correlation between the employee engagement and the service quality factors in the answers of the respondents to the online survey questions; the team members' perception of the leadership style is positively correlated with their perception of the service quality.
IPMA and PMI project management certifications – description and comparison

This thesis deals with project management certifications. Introduces two professional project management organizations of IPMA and PMI. It examines their history and expansion at the beginning. Describes in detail certification programs offered by the organization to project managers. Each certification is described from the perspective of usage, the benefits to project managers and the certification process. There is also a price page of the certification process and required demands for knowledge and skills. The thesis includes a basic introduction to the methodology used by both organizations. The methodology is summarized in the project management standards known as PMBOK Guide and ICB (CzNCB). Their description is limited to defining the basic concepts and structure approach due to wide range of both documents. To obtain an overall insight of the issue a comparison is described at the end.
Role of budgets and plans in corporate management

This thesis is dedicated to planning and budgeting and their role in corporate management. In the theoretical part it defines theoretical base including progressive approaches to the topic. It also specifies functions that plans and budgets can play in corporation. Considering the theoretical approach it disproves main critical arguments that dispute the important role of budgets and plans in corporate management. Practical part of the thesis is not published due to high sensitivity of the data and management know-how used. The practical part develops topic of the thesis on example of real operating business. In final evaluation (also not published) it analyses corporate practice on the basis of theoretical approaches. Stating the findings it presents key recommendations for enhancing the quality of corporate system of plans and budgets.
