Investigation of Madonna in the travel altar of Robert of Anjou from the collection of moravian gallery in Brno
Fogaš, I. ; Wörgötter, Z. ; Hradilová, J. ; Hradil, David ; Zikmund, T. ; Kaiser, J.
An exceptional Gothic work of art, a travel altar of Robert of Anjou, is one of those donated by John II of Liechtenstein to the Franz Museum in Brno in 1896. Light has been newly shed on the circumstances of Prince's acquisition of the altar; it refuted the thoughts about the altar's Central European provenance, because as it is being documented, the purchase took place directly in Florence in 1890. It has been recorded already back then that the Tabernacle is complemented by a (damaged) statuette of Black Madonna made of Carrara marble. The description of its damage, secondary additions and polychromy construction was the main aim of the artwork's survey by non-invasive methods (mobile XRF, computed tomography); on the basis of their results, a careful micro-sampling has been performed followed by material analysis. Most importantly, it was found out that the material of the statue is not Carrara marble, but an alabaster, which is not in disagreement with the assumed provenance (northern Italy), but due to its weight and fragility, the statuette could only hardly be an original part of the altar. Concurrently, the analysis of the oldest layers of polychromy proved that the Madonna has not been originally black and that this adjustment has been executed secondarily and intentionally.

The choice of "have you got", "do you have" and "have you" in present-day English
JOSKOVÁ, Pavlína
This BA thesis concentrates on alternative possibilities of expressing a question with the lexical verb have in today´s English. The traditional form of have you employing simple S-V inversion has been considered to be disappearing to the point that it was largely ignored in simplified grammars and textbooks. However, this is in contrast with current authentic English texts, where questions of this type do occur. The aim of this thesis therefore is to find out which factors affect the final choice of a particular alternative. The theoretical part draws on relevant linguistic literature, the main source of examples used in the practical part is the British National Corpus. The factors considered include the semantics of the verb, the structure of the noun phrases complementing the verb, and also the semantics of the head noun. Both written and spoken texts were used as sources of the structures examined in this thesis.

Reological properties of cement pastes modified by amorphous SiO2
Zimmermann, Štěpán ; Rovnaník, Pavel (referee) ; Vyšvařil, Martin (advisor)
The subject of this thesis are the rheological properties of cement paste with the addition of amorphous silicon dioxide. The basic rheological parameters are that describe the behavior of cement pastes in the fresh state. The work also included rheological tests including measurement principle and method of evaluation. Effect of mineral admixtures with high content of amorphous SiO2 is summarized the available scientific articles. In the experimental part, the effects of impurities with a high content of amorphous SiO2 on the rheological properties of fresh cement paste. It was tested by substitution of up to 10 % by weight of cement in the cement pastes mineral admixtures of different chemical composition, particle size and pozzolanic activity. Flow measurement was measured yield value, viscosity, and flow index. The stability of cement pastes was investigated oscillatory measurements. To complement the behavior pastes in the fresh state was determined by calorimetry. Test results were compared with those determined by reference samples and compared the effect of various ingredients.

Elements of regional literature in Rudolf Slawitschek's "Der blaue Herrgott"
DITRICHOVÁ, Hana
The topic of this bachelor thesis is a literary analysis of the novel "Der blaue Herrgott" written by Rudolf Slawitschek, a German author who lived in Prague during the first half of the 20th century. At the time of its publication, his book was labelled a "sudetendeutscher Heimatroman". One of the research questions this thesis seeks to answer is the genre classification of the novel, whether the work displays specific features characteristic of Sudetenland literature or whether aspects of regional fiction and Bildungsroman would be more prevalent. The novel is placed in a literary and historical context with particular reference to the literature of the Šumava district, in which the writing of Adalbert Stifter is pre-eminent. The thesis is complemented by a comparison of Stifter's "Indian Summer" with Slawitschek's "Der blaue Herrgott", and the elements of Bildungsroman in both are highlighted.
