Title: The comparison of different methods of body fat measuring by ensemble of adult women devided into five groups according to the BMI level. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to compare values of gained percentage of total body fat by descriptive method such as bioelectrical impedance analysis and skinfolds measuring in comparison with "gold standard method" DEXA and to evaluate the usability of each method of body composition measuring by five groups of women, devided according to BMI level (in range 20-47 kg/m2 ). The purpose of this thesis is to find the most useful method especially for the overweight and obese women (BMI over 30 kg/m2 ) and to estimate the equation for the whole group. The other part of this thesis is the theoretical conclusion of the matters of body composition assessing and the importance of good knowledge about this topic for physiotherapists. Methods: The study was realizing from January of 2010 to March of 2011. There were 136 women, who were clients of Fitness center of VŠTJ Medicina Praha and jointed to the group voluntarely. The criteria of choosing the subjects into the study were: age 18 - 75 years, BMI 20 ≤ 45 kg/m2 , relatively healthy without accute disease. Women with cardiostimulator, pregnant women or nursing mothers were excluded. The monitored...
Comparison of selected fitness assumptions for teams various kinds of sports
MÍŠEK, Petr
The thesis deals with the comparison of the fitness predispositions and body composition in various kinds of sports teams. The aim of the thesis was to determine the differences between the fitness predispositions and body composition among ice-hockey players, cyclists and track-and-field athletes with comparable levels of performance from South Bohemia aged 15-18. As the main tests we used spiroergometric VO2max tests, the Wingate test on a bicycle ergometer and the analysis of body composition on the Tanita BC 418 MA device. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the transport mechanism of the organism and the factors that affect performance in those given sports. The practical part describes the tested teams, the used testing devices and the research process. Next, we analyze the obtained values and compare them against each other. All values were obtained using the load-test laboratory at the University of South Bohemia in the Department of Physical Education and Sport in České Budějovice. There are slight differences between the individual teams in each of the three tested aspects that are characteristic for the given sports.
Methods for assessment of body composition
Krátká, Veronika ; Hrstka, Miroslav (referee) ; Vránová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the composition of the human body and methods of its analysis. The theoretical part is focused on basic food nutrients, nutrition recommendations, energy needs of the organism, body composition and methods for determining body composition. The experimental part contains a comparison of two methods for determining body composition – a method of bioelectrical impedance and a method NIR-spectrometry. Other section is devoted to a study of the eating habits of group of students, consisting of evaluation of diets and the questionnaires.
Relation of body activities on composition of the human body
Frechová, Vendula ; Zemanová, Jana (referee) ; Vránová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deal with relationship between physical activities and constitution of a human body. The first theoretic part is focused on components of foodstuff which are important for human nutrition, energy metabolism and different types of movement activity. The particular components of a human body such as body water, active body mass and body fat are described in the next part of the thesis. Diagnostic methods of human body’s constitution are mentioned in the last part. An analysis of a body constitution has a task to diagnose body components quantitatively and therefore provides main information about fitness. The practical part of the thesis contains influence of physical activity on body constitution, which was tested on the first group of people, and a study of eating manners of the second group of people.
Detection of body fat percentage by using the caliperation on Viva Fitnes clients in České Budějovice
PELEŠKOVÁ, Anna
The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to detect a body fat percentage among clients attending fitness centre Viva Fitnes in České Budějovice. In total, two hundred respondents of both sex were measured and analysed. The measuring was mainly concerned with gym and indoor lessons clients. Basic somatic proportions and body fat were surveyed via skin fold Pařízková caliperation method. The procedure and fieldwork results are listed in the practical part. The theoretical part provides current knowledge overview regarding the issue of human body composition necessary to understand the basic issues of the Thesis. The resulting statistic values are processed in form of graphs, charts and statistical significance.
Selected characteristics of the ability to move for children at the age of 3 and 5
ZIMOVÁ, Eliška
The aim of the thesis was to detect some characteristics of body size. Values of indexes were calculated from the characteristics and they represent the results of spinal test mobility and indexes describing the status of arch of children foot at the age of 3 and 5. The obtained data were compared with those measured before and also compared among children of different sexes and ages. The results showed, in most cases, that the mobility to move of elder probands (at the age of 5) is absolutely and relatively (compared to the body height that was also taken to consideration) larger than of younger probands (at the age of 3). According to the Chippaux and Šmiřák method flat foot appeared more often by younger probands (age 3) than older ones (age 5). The collected anthropometric data can be used to form standards for the contemporary children population of the age 3 and 5.
Body Composition and Motor Performance of Males Aged 18 to 25 Years
ZAHRADNÍČKOVÁ, Zita
The aim of my thesis was to collect, compare and evaluate body size, body composition, vital lung capacity, dynamometry and a level of motor performance of men aged from 18 to 25 years of two target groups - men who are professional swimmers or floorball players, and males of a common population. Using standard somatometric methods, a group of 39 swimmers, a group of 39 floorball players, and a group of 39 non-sportsmen of a common population were examined. The examined body parametres were body length, body weight, bustline, arm line, contracted-arm line, forearm line, thigh line, calf line; width of epiphysis of humerus and femur, wrist, ankle, biacromial and bicristal breadth, breadth of the transverse and sagittal section of chest; skin folds. The ascertained data were compared with the results of previous researches. The thesis also includes the results of motor tests, dynamometry and vital lung capacity.
Determine the amount of subcutaneous fat in floorball players.
HANŠPACH, Luboš
Increased emphasis is now being placed on dynamics, speed, and coordination in players of team sports (floorball, football, ice hockey, volleyball). The body fat is one of the factors that influences the the power of the players in sports. A comparisson between 2 flooball teams will be made and body fat will be measured. The teams entail various age groups of teams of Ceske Budejovice and Liberec, namely: adults, juniors, adolescents, younger pupils, older pupils both in men and women. Later, the body fat figures will be compared among players of different age groups. Then we can compare the amount of the fat body in the floorball players from single teams. The we can analyze if the different training load has any impact on the amount of the body fat. The goal of this work is to analyze and consider the amount of body fat in floorball players together with different physical burden in different age groups and demographic conditions.
