Video analysis of physical processes in teaching

The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical one and practical one. The theoretical part describes methods of implementation of physical experiments, also there is discussion about curriculum that was used in the created experiments, at the end of this part there is also several experiments that are made to inspire teachers and to show them video analysis options. The practical part contains a set of differentiated tasks and worksheets. In this work there is also few worksheets that were filled by students.

A corner of natural sciences at grammar school current state and possibilities of its use in teaching about nature

Presented thesis focuses on the analysis of the current state of natural science corners in Czech grammar schools and of their use in teaching about nature. All fundamental information was obtained through a survey using questionnaires. The analysis is based on a cross-sectional survey amongst 47 teachers that at present teach at grammar school (1st to 5th grade). Every subjects was asked to fill in a questionnaire containing 19 questions regarding natural science corners in subject's school. Presented graphs show the frequency of the most common answers from the pool of all obtained answers. The results clearly indicate the prevailing opinion of teachers on corners of natural science and shed light on their typical way of use in teaching about nature. Furthermore, the thesis also includes suggestions of educational activities that can be organized in a corner of natural science.

Využití pokusných zvířat v ČR

The animal experiments seem to be current theme of these days. This thesis is focused on using animals, especially rodents, in the Czech Republic for the last ten years. There is also emphasis on the legal principles of animal protection and observance of three "R" principles. In this study there were used data from available sources about using laboratory animals in the Czech Republic. Also there was prepared a questionnaire research in different scientific institutions which use animal models in their researches. There were found out from available sources that the amount of experimental animals is on the same level (about 230 000) during the years 2006-2015. There were no deflection. Also this fact is the same for using rodents (about 120 000) as biomodels. Further there was found out that the laboratory mouse (Mus musculus var. alba) is the most used experimental model. 66,7% of questioned respondents considered the laboratory mouse the most common used laboratory animal and 60% of questioned respondents supposed that the number of used laboratoty animals was decreasing.

This diploma thesis analyzes legislation of executing animal experiments and protection of experimental animals. It is divided into five chapters, each of one is focused on specific area of the topic. The first chapter describes legal sources on international, European and state level. The chapter is closed by a subchapter about judicial activity. The second chapter is focused on principles of animal experiments and its two subchapters describe the 3R concept and legal principles of animal experiments. The third chapter concerns theoretical aspects and key concepts of animal experiment. It is divided into four subchapters, which involve the term of animal experiment, welfare, status of living animal in a legal system of Czech Republic and alternatives to animal experiments. Each of this unit is divided into subchapters, which are focused on specific areas. The fourth chapter concerns six subchapters, which describes the authorization for using animals for experiments, persons working with experimental animals, acceptable experiment, experimental animals, project of experiment and executing experiments. Crime preparation

The master's thesis comprehensively deals with the issue of the preparation of a criminal offence and other disputable questions related with this stage in the commission of a criminal offence. The emphasis is mainly put on its definition in the Czech criminal law, taking account of relevant judicial decisions necessary to interpret the relatively brief statutory provisions. The aim of the thesis is to carry out critical evaluation of the current legislation sanctioning preparation, to identify questionable parts and potential shortcomings that may exist in the practice. On this basis I try to suggest solutions to the identified problems or at least to contribute to the discussion about them. The thesis is divided into five parts, the first generally puts the preparation into the criminal law system, describes its various forms, distinguishes it from the other stages in the commission of the criminal offence and briefly describes the historical development of its sanctioning on our territory. The second part focuses on the problematics of the impossible preparation and issues regarding its criminalization and punishing. Legal regulation of experimental animals handling This thesis deals with the legal regulation of experimental animals handling and their protection in international law, European union law and national law. Its goal is to complexly capture current legislation in this field, point out unsystematic or otherwise unsuitable institutes and propose means of their change. The core of the thesis is a description and an analysis of relevant parts of the Act on Animal Protection Against Cruelty, directives and regulations of the European Union and international treaties. Furthermore the thesis includes a treatise on the legal status of an animal, a brief introduction into ethical issues of animal experiments, historical evolution of relevant legal regulation and questions of administrative and criminal liability in the field of experimental animals handling.

Invertebrate Lectures And Their Use In Leisure Lessons

JUHASOVÁ, P., Invertebrate Lectures And Their Use In Leisure Lessons. Master thesis. Praha: Charles univerzsity in Prague, Faculty of Education, 2016. 94 s. In this diploma thesis, practical tasks focused on invertebrate biology are presented. They are targeted for science hobby groups. Detailed instructions for experiments and observations as well as for capturing invertebrates can be found in this diploma thesis. There are described also long-term projects in the form of inquiry-based teaching tasks, construction of man-made outdoor insect nests (so-called "insect hostels") and also the indoor invertebrate keepings. The vast majority of tasks were tested in practice in two science hobby groups, attended by a total of 30 participants. The aim of these tasks is to increase the attractiveness and accessibility of natural science to a wider audience and improving its presentation, but also to arouse positive attitude to nature and all living creatures. Inspiration will be found there not only by leaders of natural science clubs, but also by teachers, who want to incorporate practical work with animals into teaching. Legal regulation of animal testing The diploma thesis is analyzing current legislation in the field of animal experiments. It is formed by five chapters and each chapter is concerned with different aspects of animal protection, when focusing on experimental animals in particular. The first chapter is divided into three subchapters and it is successively describing development of animal experiments, progress of legislation dealing with animal protection and experimental animal protection on the international and European level, when analyzed is also Czech legislation in the last subchapter. Second chapter is focused on the basic legal sources and its legal foundation. It has four subchapters, when every subchapter explains relevant terms, which are being formulated in the experimental animal protection law. This chapter of the diploma thesis also involves sections dedicated to experiments and alternative methods of the experiments. Development of Czech teaching materials for the Vernier experimental system

The aim of this thesis is to summarize already published tutorials for experiments with the Vernier lab system and to write new tutorials respecting requirements and specifics of the Czech educational system. Six new detailed tutorials were prepared. All of them were, or would be, published on the Internet web site of The Framework Education Programmes (www.rvp.cz). Following tutorials were written: Bulb flickering, Warm-up of a compact fluorescent lamp, Relation between illumination and distance of the light source, Relation between illumination and number of filters, Why is salt used in the winter on the roads, Photochromic glasses. Each experiment is accompanied by a classification with respect to The Framework Education Programmes and by requirements for The State High School Leaving Exam (``maturita'').
