Engine Block for Diesel Engine 2.0 L
Kudlík, Michael ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes the problems of the engine block and crankcase. As a one of the most imprortant and first part of this task is creating a 3D simulation model of a engine block and calculating load forces of engine block. The simulation and evaluation of the solution are calculated by using method finite element, software Ansys. The conclusion and ending point of the od the diploma thesis construction desing of stiffness increase.
Three-cylinder Engines
Kočvara, Antonín ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
The main purpose of this thesis is to summarize the progress of four-stroke straight-three engines from the beginning of their production to these days in perspective of parameters and construction. Another goal is to show reasons for their exploitation. The reasons of exploitation are mostly compared to four-cylinder engine and some of them are supported by a calculation. There is also a chapter showing force acting in power train and its influences on straight-three engines. The closing part is dealing with possible ways in future development of straight-three engines.
Thermal-Mechanical Analysis of the Cylinder of the Four-stroke Engine
Ptáček, Petr ; Raffai, Peter (referee) ; Dlugoš, Jozef (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on creating a finite element method model of a four-stroke engine with a purpose to determine an impact on cylinder bore distortion caused by several types of loading. Introduction of this work covers research of possibilities in modelling thermal-structural analysis of cylinder liner and verifications of the analysis results. An Ansys model was further created and cylinder liner radial deformation caused by head bolts tightening and thermal loading coming from combustion was determined. Finally, a whole engine working cycle was simulated with a gas pressure loading and its final impact on the total cylinder liner radial deformation was defined.
The Cylinders of Four-stroke Engines
Vanda, Marek ; Řehák, Kamil (referee) ; Dlugoš, Jozef (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is Cylinders of Four-stroke Engines. First part is about four-stroke cycle, engine construction. Next parts are about cylinders, their function and requirements. Also included is the importance of the cylinders on the engine operation and engine life. Last part is focused on the construction, materials of the cylinders and their usage in the past and today.
Engine Block Design of Aircraft Powertrain
Kuzník, Bořek ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis describes the problems of the engine block and crankcase. There is solution of structural design and contains the engineering design of invert six-cylinder engine block with water cooling. Thesis deals with connected equipment and drives. Engineering design is verified by finite elements analysis for the determination of strenght and durability. The ending of thesis analyzes the production methods of designed engine block.
Solution of Engine Block Deformations during Assembling
Foltis, Aleš ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
Size and distribution of mount deformation are the main topics discussed in this thesis, using different static loading. The thesis’ primary focus is to show how deformation and stress of the engine block with cylinder liner are affected in the assembly order of the cylinder head. The calculation and evaluation of the solution are calculated by using method finite element, software Ansys. In addition other methods are discussed which can also measure the deformation of the engine block.
Evaluation of mechanical and structural properties of new block
Lefner, Jiří ; Nová, Iva (referee) ; Čech, Jaroslav (advisor)
The purpose of this dilploma thesis is to evaluate mechanical and structural properties of two types casts of Al-alloy (components of the engine block) which were made by different technologies. Die casting with local squeeze casting and without local squeeze casting. First of them is used in lot manufacture of the current engine block. The aim of the foundry is to change the technology and start to produce new block by the die casting without local squeeze casting. The samples were taken from the both parts (lower and upper part) of the current and the new engine block which are made in foundry of Skoda Auto a.c. in Mladá Boleslav. Sets of mechanical and structural properties were selected, evaluated and tested by statistical programs. It was used fifty casts of the engine blocks for the experiment.
Common-rail System for 4-cylinder CI-engine
Ošmera, Petr ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This diploma thesis with a view to „common rail system for 4-cylinder CI-engine“ deals with the application of modern injection system „common rail“ to already existing compression-ignition tractor engine. The diploma thesis treats of the most necessary adjustments related with the replacement of injection systems which was solved in the way of the minimum adjustments. This kind of solution deals with an economic aspect of the problem. The reconstruction contains the engineering design of development of high pressure components and the suitability of their placing on engine. The primary adjustment of the application of system „common rail“ for existing tractor engine confirmed the possibility of this reconstruction.
Manufacture and structure of compacted graphite cast iron
Viskupič, Adam ; Šenberger, Jaroslav (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
This publication conducts a search on the topic of manufacture, structures and the possibilities of producing castings from compacted graphite iron. It contains a description of the mechanical, physical and technological properties of compacted graphite iron. This thesis also reviews the charge materials, melting furnaces, a methods of inoculation and modifying compacted graphite iron.
Design of single-cylinder diesel engine
Němec, Jan ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the construction of the whole combustion engine, the crankshaft design, the piston and the piston rod. It also outlines the central lubrication, the cooling, the injection pump, the movable pump and the gear pump as well as fuel filtering, injection, engine timimg, etc. The four-cycle engine has four working cycles. During the first cycle the "clean" air is drawn and the piston moves from the bottom centre to the top centre and it comes to compression in the cylinder thanks to the adjusting of the advance and the fuel is injected into the cylinder. As the piston moves rapidly to the top centre, the pressure and the temperature increase so much that the fuel ignites. The pressure is about 26 atm (2.634Mpa) and the temperature is about 600°C. The fuel burns ideally in spherical wave fronts. The fuel is injected under high pressure as aerosol generates. As the fuel expands, the volume increases and the piston moves to the bottom centre. And it is its only working cycle. The piston moves from the bottom centre to the top centre and the exhaust valve opens through which the hot gases of combustion leave - and everything repeats. The design of the particular components is shown in the animations. Modelling and simulations were produced using CAD system. Everything is supported with calculations.
