Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Ondrišák, Matej ; Žáčková, Iveta (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The conceptual-architectural design represents the restoration of the brownfield of wine cellars in Brno- Zábrdovice. It reflects on the possible use of the area, following the direction of the city’s philosophy in the improvement of dysfunctional, abandoned and neglected so-called vague places. It deals with the solution of the renewal of public space, the trend of urban interventions and brings to the owner a direct way of opening up the area of the currently unused space above the wine cellars. The restoration proposal responds to the historical context of the area, the continuity of the environment. Its main role is to bring an attractive public space to the site, with the added value of opening up the wine cellars and the opportunity to create a natural setting for the site, and bringing the proverbial genius loci to the site. The second part of the conceptual-architectural design provides detailed procedures, use and discussion of the functional program of the different parts of the proposal. The analytical-volumetric reflection formed the basis for this, which resulted in the site program. By organizing programmes, the ideas of the functioning of the functional fillings and their deployment in synergy with each other, a primary space was created with the possibilities of their year-round, but also seasonal use.

The master thesis deals with the design of urban rehabilitation spa in the centre of Brno. The main idea of the design is to create a quiet oasis full of relaxation and health in the busy city centre. I have created the oasis on the border of Brno-Zábrdovice and Brno-centrum. Zábrdovice is a new development area in Brno, where many residential complexes are currently being constructed. This means that new families, students and other social and age groups will start moving to this location. Oasis is defined as a quiet and peaceful place in the middle of something hostile and disturbing. It is typically accompanied by a blanket of pleasant greenery, a sense of rest and a source of water. In my case, I'm inserting a spa with a rehabilitation wing that offers hydrotherapy and other pool amenities into the bustling centre of Brno. My aim was to offer all people the same feeling of safety and relaxation in a watery and naturally green environment. The spa is also a place where people come together for an experience. To enjoy the environment, the materials and simply to take a break from the everyday hustle and bustle.

The bachelor‘s thesis follow up with the design of the town hall in Old Brno as part of the concept of the new Mendel square. The aim of the work is not only to use the building to contribute to the quality of the entire square, but also to create a town hall building that reflects the values of the 21st century and not only serves the office. A place that primarily serves people and contributes to all residents of the urban district. Part of the work is also the integration of the town hall into the new concept of the square, namely a high-quality public space, in order to revitalize the place architecturally and culturally.

The main topic of the bachelor's thesis is the design of the new city hall for the old Brno at Mendlovo náměstí. The work is based on a detailet study of this location where the place for the new town hall is defined. The goal is to creat a building that unites citizens and destroyes the myth of contemporary town halls. The proposal provides for the construction of an adjacent block of špalíček and the use of the created foreign area, which will serve as a new square. The purpose of the entire project is to connect administrative matters with the ordinary life of the citizen. In the first part of the work, an analysis of the territory is carried out, which serves as the basic for the proposal itself. The town hall's proposal itself is resolved in the further parts.

The bachelor’s thesis explores the idea of connectivity and democratic city. The aim of the work was to design a town hall for the Old Brno district with consideration to the use of spatial and social connectivity. The work builds on new concept of urban planning and transport solutions. Concept study is integral part of the bachelor’s thesis assignment. The project is located in the location of Mendl Square, which has historically had an important role within the city. The town hall is designed with an emphasis on massive digitization and with an emphasis on the flexibility of spaces for the future. Result of digitalization is reduction of spatial requirements The solution should provide new possibilities and opportunities that will contribute to better use of the potential of “Mendlák”.
A system for monitoring the quality of connectivity
Vyskočil, Vladimír ; Peterka, Jiří (advisor) ; Děcký, Martin (referee)
The aim of the theses is to design a methodology for centralized monitoring of data traffic in an ISP network that would detect individual connection with connectivity problems, and evaluate these problems. The methodology should at least evaluate packet loss and latency between a centrally located monitoring point and endpoints at user premises. A further goal is to implement this methodology, test it and evaluate the results.
Design of communication network at a company headquarter
Kohoutek, Jan ; Sedlák, Petr (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the design of a communication infrastructure project for a company building. There are production, storage and administrative premises, including Open Office space for rent. The basic documents for the work are the requirements of the investor and the floor plans of individual parts of the building. The result is an analysis, a proposal for the selection of individual components of the communication infrastructure, project documentation and, at the very end, an economic evaluation.
Conservation genetics of grey wolf and snow leopard: effect of landscape attributes to the population structure
Benešová, Markéta ; Hulva, Pavel (advisor) ; Kreisinger, Jakub (referee)
Landscape genetic approaches allow to study effects of landscape to population microevolution. Landscape can influence gene flow even in large carnivores with good dispersal ability. Understanding the influence of landscape to the gene flow between populations is crucial for species conservation, especially in the species with low population densities. Aim of the study was to describe genetic structure of the grey wolf (Canis lupus) and snow leopard (Panthera uncia) in selected areas and to determine the influence of the landscape features on observed structure. Non-invasive genetic samples of snow leopard from Nepal were analysed, as well as invasive and non-invasive samples of grey wolf from Central Europe. Population structure was determined a posteriori using Bayesian clustering approaches that integrate genetic and geographical data, and compared to landscape connectivity models. Population structure of snow leopards is mostly influenced by human presence and presence of frequented roads, which represent a substantial dispersal barrier. Habitat suitable for this species is greatly restricted by altitude, however, during dispersal they are able to overcome areas with higher elevation than what is optimal for them. Pronounced genetic difference was found between central European and Carpathian...
European air hubs in the context of network and its resistance against disturbances
Šulc, David ; Marada, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kraft, Stanislav (referee)
EUROPEAN AIR HUBS IN THE CONTEXT OF NETWORK AND ITS RESISTANCE AGAINST DISTURBANCES Abstract The submitted master thesis is addressing the theme of connectivity of European Air Transport Network, its properties and resistance against negative influences based on data from flight schedules for winter season 2018. The main objective of the thesis is to analyse European Air Transport Network from the point of connectivity in order to find out the most important airport hubs according to their geographic conditions, community structure and resistance of the whole network. Used methods are based on the Graph Theory and the centrality measures as indicators of connectivity. The empiric part of the thesis is divided into three parts. The aim of the first part is to find out, what airports are the most important in the European Air Transport Network. In the second part are explored properties and structure of the network. The last part is aiming to analyse the resistance of the European Air Transport Network from the view of robustness and resilience. Among the most important air hubs in Europe belong airports, that are serving world cities and tourist attractive localities. There is a strong dominance of the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, the El Prat airport in Barcelona and the Frankfurt Airport. The European Air...
EEG correlates of neurodegenerative disorders
Schlezingerová, Nicol ; Telenský, Petr (advisor) ; Kelemen, Eduard (referee)
Due to the aging of the population, there is an increasing incidence of neurodegenerative diseases. In clinical practice there is a need to for a cheap and noninvasive method for screening and early diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders. To this end, markers of disease progression and prognosis must be determined. EEG correlates provide information that can be used in the diagnosis and prognosis of neurodegenerative disorders. Individual diseases have their specific EEG abnormalities that are closely related to different stages of the disease. Individual illnesses - Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease have their specific changes in the basic rhythms of the brain that correlate with motor and cognitive changes. This work focuses on the quantitative (qEEG) correlates of the above-mentioned diseases. Key words: brain, neural activity, EEG, quantitative EEG analysis, biomarker, connectivity, neurodegeneration, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease.
