Title: Nutrition monitoring in top Czech Republic women white water slalom athletes in the race period of the season. Aim of the study: Comparison of actual quantitative and qualitative composition of the diet in the Czech water slalom paddlers (women) in the racing period to daily recommended standards for the population group of athletes with a corresponding energy output. Using the results, create both general and individual recommendations and assess the need for the use of supplements in the diet of water slalom athletes. Methods: The thesis is a case study and it is a kind of qualitative research. For our study we chose two main methods. Prospective study method and the method of interview. To determine the total daily energy intake and diet quality inventorial analysis of the four- day dietary record of the respondents was used. For comparison with the standards, the data were subsequently processed by standardized software applications of database functions MS Excel (Vilikus a kol., 2002) and accompanied by a critical commentary. To survey the data concerning use of food supplements has been used a method in which athletes respond to questions asked. The data were assessed in writing and graphically. Results: Our study shows and critically comment on the differences between recommended and...

Aggregation behaviour of cockroaches (Blattaria: Blaberidae): intraspecific and interspecific preference
Varadínová, Zuzana ; Frynta, Daniel (advisor) ; Janda, Milan (referee)
Cockroaches (Blattaria) are considered to be nearly universally gregarious insect order. In spite of this fact most of the research effort has been devoted to the behaviour of domiciliary species. It is thus not surprising we still do not have comparable information about aggregation behaviour in common laboratory blaberid species. We have investigated aggregation behaviour of adult males and females in six blaberid species: four South American species (Blaberinae: Eublaberus posticus, Eublaberus distanti, Blaberus discoidalis, Blaberus craniifer) and two Madagascar species (Oxyhaloinae: Gromphadorhina portentosa, Princisia vanwaerebeki). Intraspecific aggregation behaviour was determined using two approaches: the binary choice tests arena and free interaction arena tests. Results obtained with both methods were largely consistent. We have found that blaberid clades clearly differed in their aggregation patterns. (1) Females of Eublaberus species aggregated while only a slight and less consistent aggregation tendency was recorded in conspecific males. (2) Both sexes of Blaberus species aggregated, especially when tested in the arena. (3) The Madagascar hissing cockroaches of the Gromphadorhina-Princisia clade are not gregarious, the aggregation tendency was entirely absent in the males of both species and...

Theological Mysticism and Symbolism in the Piece "Méditations sur le Mystere de la Sainte Trinité" by Olivier Messiaen
Salvová, Pavla ; POPELKA, Josef (advisor) ; TŮMA, Jaroslav (referee)
The general attribute of Olivier Messiaen´s music is not only his specific musical language, which experiments with time, rhythm, colour, finds inspiration in birdsong, Gregorian chant and music of the exotic lands, but mainly the existence of a non-musical message. The first part of my thesis is introductory. It includes the description of Messiaen´s life and early musical influences, the nature of his musical style, his general musical aims, and an overview of his most important works. In the centre of my effort is the thematic analysis of Messiaen´s late organ cycle Méditations sur le Mystère de la Sainte Trinité (Meditations on the Mystery of the Holy Trinity). That is preceded with an introduction of the background of the piece, sources of inspiration and symbolism used. The main aim is to explore the complexity of Messiaen´s musical and thematic thinking, and to understand the message of the musical material.

Food intake of young children
Schimperková, Barbora ; Kudlová, Eva (advisor) ; Urbanová, Zuzana (referee)
Introduction: Early childhood is a critical phase for shaping basic eating behaviors and food preferences that impact an individual long-term physical and mental condition. A little child takes over eating habits from his or her parents and their improvement later in life is difficult. Methods: An analysis of eating habits of Czech children aged 12-23 months. The data was obtained in a cross-sectional retrospective questionnaire study. The questionnaires were completed by children's mothers addressed in public places. Results: Almost a quarter (24.4%) of mothers still breast-fed a child after his or her first year of life and the toddlers were fed at average 4.3 times a day. The average age of child when his or her mother stopped its breast-feeding was 8.5 months. The most frequent reason of weaning the child was a paucity or loss of breast milk. More than third (38.5%) of children received the non-milk fluids before the end of the 6th month. And approximately one-third (27.8%) of children obtained the non-milk food before the end of the 6th month. Toddlers got the meals at average 5.3 times a day. Most (83.3%) of mothers had no difficulties with children's feeding. The most frequent eating problem was pickiness. In 28.0% of families the parents let the TV turned on during the mealtime and 58.3% of...

Automatic evaluation of the students' assessments
Oraný, Vladimír ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (referee)
Nearly seven hundreds of students each year apply for informatics' studies at University of economics, Prague (UEP). At the beginning, each one must complete two courses related to programming - Introduction to Programming and Fundamentals of Software Engineering. Both courses produce a lot of outputs -- simpler home works or more complex semestral projects -- which must be assessed by the teachers. Especially assessment of early home works is laboring and routine which makes it perfect candidate for automation. The goal of this work is to suggest the best suitable way how to implement this automation at UEP. Since mass courses make troubles universities all around the world there is already a lot of existing solutions how to automate evaluation of programming courses. First two chapters summarize the effort to find the most interesting ones and present them to the Czech audience. Because existing solutions are really sophisticated but does not provide white box tests support needed at UEP the rest of this thesis is not about creating own new automatic assessment system but about creating a middleware which can handle the problem mentioned. The middleware called Duckapter makes usage of Java reflection API easier and is downloadable from project website http://code.google.com/p/duckapter. Using them, the teachers can provide white box tests inside the black box (unit) tests which are supported by the most of the current automatic assessment systems.

New trends in the treatment of diabetes
Vodrážková, Tereza ; Vopršalová, Marie (advisor) ; Melicharová, Ludmila (referee)
Diabetes mellitus is the name for the group of chronic diseases, which are manifested as malfuction metabolism of saccharides. It's one of the oldest global disease. 200 milions people, both sexes and all age bracket suffer from it. Diabetes is dividing in DM I.type, which attack 7% of patiens, and DM II.type, which rises from a lot of stress, unhealthy food and absence of sport activities. The objective of diabetes treatment is early diagnosis, which can prevent the expansion of severe insulin deficiency, resistence of insulin and other metabolic disorders. Diabetic treatment includes pharmacology treatment - with insulin and peroral antidiabetics, and unpharmacology treatment, which cooperate with drugs in reducing morbidity and mortality. My dissertation specializes in new types, new production technology and new styles of aplication insulin to the body. It's also targeted the description of new groups of peroral antidiabetics, especially their development and clinical testing. Treatment of diabetes also involves transplantation of pancreas and therapy by steam-cells, which is still only in phase of clinical trials. To good compensation of DM contribute phytoterapy, diabetic diet and recommended sport activities.

Nanofiber membranes as carriers of drugs 2. Polyvinylalcohol, chitosan, (D,L) polylactic acid.
Bidmonová, Hana ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Dittrich, Milan (referee)
1. ABSTRACT Diploma thesis concerns with the evaluation of the basic properties of the nanofibre membranes that are made of polyvinylalcohol, chitosan and (D,L) polylactic acid in connection with their possible use as carriers of drugs. Thesis characterizes electrospinning as a method of production of nonwoven textiles and nanofibre materials, polymers that were used in preparation of the nanofibre membranes under experiments, and testing methods that were used. Transdermal pharmaceuticals declared in the AISLP database were summarized in the connection with their possible use in drug administration. The selected physical characteristics of three chemical types of the nonwoven nanofibre membranes made in laboratories ELMARCO Liberec were investigated. The tensile stress properties, hydrophile-lipophile character of surface and absorption-release properties of the membranes were studied at a permeation in vitro study using caffein as a model drug in the experimental part of my work. Tensile properties of membranes are affected by previous radiation sterilization and direction of testing. General characterization of all membranes was not found. Chitosan membrane becomes firmer material after sterilization and it is also tougher in transverse tensile force. PLA membrane is weak after sterilization and also...

Adoption at a distance of zambian´s children
ŠAREŠOVÁ, Veronika
My diploma thesis is dealing with extended Adoption at distance of Zambian children and had research character. Thesis is divided into two parts; first one is theoretical, second is practical. Theoretical part consists from nine chapters. Continuously they describe history and actual state of Zambia, individual development especially in relation with education, focus and objectives of UNICEF activities, OSN and international documents dealing with human rights, education and its value in humans live, educational system in Zambia and its structure, extended adoption, organization that are realizing extended adoptions in Zambia and the last chapter is mentioning more organizations, that are realizing this project. The practical part of the thesis has scientific character. The objective of the thesis is to describe the project of extended adoption and the relation of Czech society to this project. In order of this aim three hypothesis have been made. In the first one I assume, that Czech society think that extended adoption is beneficial, but does not believe that the financial assets are not spend on the right purposes. In the second hypothesis I assume, that there is no discrimination in choosing the children taking part in the extended adoption programme based on tribe nationality, race or religion. The last hypothesis assumes that Zambian children are interested in education and that why they think the project is good for their future lives. For approving or declining hypothesis I used the method of questionnaire and discussion. The questionnaires were given to Zambian children and Czech public society. The discussion was realized with employees of certain organizations that are realizing the project of extended adoption programme. Altogether there were 170 questionnaires, 100% of them were returned. The hypothesis are analysed at the end of practical part. In the end there is summary of certain pieces of knowledge from theoretical and practical part. The last part of this diploma thesis contains the appendixes.
