Thirdly to identify spatial patterns of high and low stability of local elites in the Czech Republic. To complete this objectives required to design methodology and calculate stability of local elites for the municipalities of Czech Republic and then to categorize it according to its level of stability (low, medium, high). On behalf of several quantitative analyses the indirect dependence between stability of local elites and the municipality population has been proven as well as the dependence between the selected development factors (intensity of flat construction, unemployment and percentage of undergraduates). It is focused on their influence on political decision-making process, which is expressed by the influence of elite on reigning Naṣrid dynasty. It examines the elite denomination in contemporary Arabic written sources, their links and delimitations. These were mainly common economic and power interests. Vimmr, Martin Kryšpín ; Říchová, Blanka (advisor) ; Švec, Kamil (referee)
This paper focuses on the dissolution of Czech and Slovak Federal Republic in the context of Arend Lijphart's theory of consociational democracy. It is a comparative case study in which is compared the case of Czechoslovak federation with consociational democracy as a normative type. The paper consists of theoretical and empirical part. The consociational theory itself and its relation to the federalism are described in the first one. In the empirical part are sought all major consociational principles (grand coalition, mutual veto, proportionality, segmental autonomy and political discretion) in the Czechoslovak political system in the time around elections in 1992. The main reason why should be Czechoslovakia placed in the context of consociationalism is fact that the Arend Lijphart (author of the theory) himself identifies Czechoslovakia as a book example of consociational democracy. The existence of strongly divided segments in Czechoslovakia is proven in this paper by the same method as Lijphart uses in Netherlands. The election results of both ethnics - Czechs and Slovaks - were strictly divided in the years 1990 and 1992. This means that there were no political parties that were successful in both republics at the same time. Most of the consociational principles were found in the Czechoslovak...

Nikodýmová, Anna ; Müller, Karel (advisor) ; Kný, Daniel (referee)
Although a local policy is a necessary issue for a functioning of a democratic political system, it usually does not stand in the center of common interests. This paper deals with its functioning in Prague 16 where the Civic Democratic Party has won the municipal elections since 1994. The aim of this paper is to find the main factors which led to its winning in the municipal elections in 2014. The main text is divided into three chapters. The first theoretical one concerns with a theory of democracy, civil society and elite theory. The second one describes a creation of a local policy in Prague 16 - namely results of municipal elections since 1994, a way in which local political institutions have been created as well as political parties run for the last municipal elections in 2014. The third chapter deals with an analysis of election results and interviews made with local representatives and councilors.

Alternation elites in the village Studená in 1948. The fates of two businessman and ganges of the small-town during the post-February.
BARTUŠEK, Petr
Annotation Through the analysis of the alternation of the elites in the municipality of Studená and the after - February fates of two businessmen, I tried to describe the transformations of the small town in the course of the period of three republics and mainly during the high Stalinism. I substantiated, inter alia, the replacement of the small town elites by two examples of Jan Satrapa and Karel Bartušek whose fates appeared to be very applicable for this way approached case study. I also attempted to record the changes of the common cultural and ideological period trends within this municipality. Directed through the specific fates, I described the shape of the small town after February 25, 1948 and compared it with the specialised literature thereby I tried to place the case of Studená in the contemporary context. To acheive the needed results, I used the sources of personal data and the memory data (family and municipal chronicles), conversations with survivors, and likewise the books of Vlasta Javořická. They proved to be extremely valuable sources.
