Current changes in the business environment in selected countries of euro area

This thesis aims to analyze current business environment and its development in three countries of euro area (Greece, Spain and Portugal) during the last five years and reflecting the current financial crisis. The first section analyses the conditions for development and the ways the financial crisis spread to euro area. It also demonstrates its effects on macroeconomic indicators. The next part defines the business environment from the point of view of the World Bank, The Heritage Foundation, IMD and The World Economic Forum. It also reflects the opinion of European Commission on the rate of incorporating the European directives regarding the internal market. The third part analyzes the current business environment and its development according to each definition.

Diploma thesis describes the development and prospects of greek economy, mainly focused on Economic adjustment programme for Greece introduced in May 2010. Main chapter introduces the goals of the programme and design of main reforms. Estimates of further economic development and the possible restructuring of greek debt was presented.
The development of the greek economy since the euro adoption until the present

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate the situation and the development of the Greek economy during the period 2001 to 2011 and to demonstrate that an economic development, such as Greece's during this time, should not have been repeated by any country using a market economy. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter covers theory and methodology, while the following chapters contain the EMU entry, organizing of the Olympic Games, the global economic crisis and also reform steps along with EU and IMF financial rescue package. The conclusion gives a prediction of the potential future development. A more realistic view on the situation is drawn from statistical data.
Development of the Greek economy with regard to the current global economic crisis

Thesis describes the development of the Greek economy since 1950's till the present situation. It intensively focuses particularly on developments following the entry of Greece into the European Monetary Union in 2001. It also identifies and describes the endogenous and exogenous causes of the "collapse" of Greek economy. In the end there is an outline of future prospects of the Greek economy.
Current problems of European monetary integration

The thesis analyzes current problems of the European monetary integration on the basis of the optimum currency area theory and strives for its application to the major macroeconomic imbalances, which occur in the current European integration. The paper defines the most important issues of monetary integration, which are further specified on the example of Greece, and tries to analyze macroeconomic imbalances in Europe to draw recommendations for further development of monetary integration.
Balneology in Greece

This thesis describes the importance of spa tourism in Greece reflecting on its history as well as its current status in Greek tourism and the health industry. Its content features basic terminology of the spa industry, specifications and development of the European balneology. This thesis also offers a view on Greek spa market and its performance including legislative and legal framework of the spa sector as well as a SWOT analysis of the Greek spa market. Last but not least it focuses on prospects and possibilities of cooperation between Greece and The Czech Republic in this field. It does so by introducing a new product to the travel industry for Czech clients. This new product takes into consideration current state of demand and health service in the Czech Republic as well as the offerings available from the Greek side.
Greek gastronomy

The aim of the work is to characterize Greek gastronomy, to emphasize the qualities of Greek cuisine and its typical features, to point out the importance of Greek gastronomy both for the tourism industry in Greece and for the local inhabitants, to analyse the position of Greek gastronomy in Prague and the possibilities to use local dining facilities for this designated purpose. In the first chapter of the study, basic gastronomic terminology is defined as well as the importance of gastronomy in history, dining as a fundamental service in the tourism industry and the relationship between tourism and gastronomy is also explained. The second chapter of the study dwells on the importance of the tourism industry for the Greek economy. It expands on basic geographic details and on the history of Greece. The third chapter focuses on the characteristics of Greece gastronomy it describes traditional Greek meals, local dining habits, table manners or Greek festivals associated with gastronomy. The final, practical part is dedicated to Greek gastronomy in Prague and analyses chosen dining facilities, then, using a comparative method, compares the acquired information by its own means.
Social security in Great Britain, Norway and Greece

The bachelor thesis describes social security in chosen European countries -- in Great Britain, Norway and Greece. The thesis is divided into five chapters. First one deals with social policy and social security. The basic functioning principles are defined. Next chapters describe social security of individual states together with their basic description and way of funding. Following, pensions, benefits in case of sickness, maternity, work injury or unemployment and family allowances are explained. In conclusion, all the information presented is summarised and compared.
Debt crisis in Greece

The debt crisis that took place in 2010 in Greece, had a global impact. It did not affect only Greece, but also the whole, and has threatened the highest level of European integration - single currency, the euro. This paper analyzes the causes that caused the crisis, as well as the consequences and implications that the Greek debt crisis meant for the European Union and the future of European integration. Analysis of wide spectrum of domestic and international causes makes it clear that the Greek crisis was not just a random turbulence, but the logical culmination of the problems and imbalances in Greece over the past decade. Special attention is paid to the role of the euro and the current account deficit, which played the major role in creating the crisis. The thesis also examines the process of the crisis, rescue aid package and risks of possible debt contagion.Final part of the thesis is dedicated to the analysis of possible alternative solutions and scenarios.
Causes and consequences of the Greek crisis

In 2009, when the information about problems in Greece first appeared, no one knew what effects would they have for Greece and European union. The aim of this work is to analyze the causes and consequences of the Greek debt crisis. The work first theoretically describes economic crises. Later on, I define the development of Greek macro- economic indicators from 80's till present, as the causes of the crisis. I address the next chapter to the process of the crisis itself and in the last chapter I describe the consequences of the Greek crisis.
