Working conditions of nurses in acute beds.

This thesis is called "Working conditions of nurses at acute medical units." The intensive care medicine was chosen as the main focus of research. It pervades all branches and it became a very interesting multidisciplinary part of medicine. Another subject is non-medical staff, as demands made on them are really high. First, the thesis deals with intensive care medicine and relates it with nursing. Then it describes the role of nurses, mentions their system of education, changes which has happened and the peculiarities for intensive medicine. The operation of second internal clinic of General University Hospital in Prague from the nursing point of view including related internal and legal regulations is described in more detail in the empirical part, for better understanding wider context. Out of consideration for the fact that a coronary unit (whose staff are the research sample) is on the verge of offering resuscitation and higher intensive care, it is also aimed at and its specifications too. Individual factors making working execution harder can be influenced, although partly they are determined by a human factor and have their limits whose exceeding or change can become a problem. The diploma project investigates the working conditions of nurses at acute medical units because that is what can be both positively and negatively affected and it is measurable. A qualitative enquiry in the form of non-standard interview was used for collecting the data. Overall fifteen nurses working at acute medical units of General University Hospital in Prague were addressed. Their personal situation is briefly outlined, but the main focus follows the aims in the thesis, i.e. findings of the nurses' opinions at acute medical units on their working conditions; findings of which factors make their working conditions difficult; ways of eliminating these factors and how to improve the quality of nursing. Altogether ten research questions were formulated so that interviews with respondents could be categorized and analyzed. The thesis came to the conclusion that improvement in the area of working conditions while providing nursing at acute medical units is possible. Most suggested solutions are not able without the help of management, or are dependent on it fully. However, even today the provided nursing care is at an excellent level.
Influence of stress on work performance in selected companies

The main aim of diploma thesis, which called Influence of stress on work performance in selected companies, is to explore stress factors in the workplace and their influence on work performance. In the theoretical part of this thesis were summarized issues of stress, symptoms of stress, stress and healthy, types of stressors, stress factors in the workplace, stress management, work performance and pathological situations in the workplace, such as bossing, mobbing and sexual harassment.

This bachelor thesis is focused on employee motivation in Schwer Fittings, s.r.o., Martin. Main goal of this thesis is to evaluate current state of motivation system in this company and to suggest recommendations that can contribute to increase in employee motivation and to overall satisfaction. The theoretical part is based on literature mentioned in my work. In this part are also described some basic terms related to motivation. Company motivation system was analysed by a survey. I'm going to evaluate current state of motivation system in Schwer Fittings on the basis of this survey and reveal weaknesses and then propose possible recommendations.

Occupational load concerning the animators in travel agency

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the issues of occupational load concerning the animators in tourist industry. The aim is to find out whether animators from one selected tourist agency experience extreme workload or stress during their work and what does that cause to them. I also focused on their satisfaction with working conditions created by their employer. The first step of thesis was studying literary sources and creating literary research.Within the framework of the practical part I have carried out a survey and structured interview with animators from a particular tourist agency. Thanks to this I was able to find out to what extend are the animators satisfied with their working conditions, whether they suffer under too much strain and stress and what alternatively causes this stress. I also answered the question: "How do you deal with such circumstances?"
Gender issue in police armedforces

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the Gender issue in the armed police forces. I focused on the differences in the position of men and women working for the Police ČR which could affect career of the policewomen. I also pick the gender stereotypes which predetermine the women for certain posts and tasks. Result of my work is the review of the questionnaire and the suggested solution which should lead women to posts, not yet, fully occupied by them. The theoretical part of my thesis defines terms as: gender, gender stereotypes, the characteristic of labor relations, principles of equal treatment and non discrimination.The main part contains the status of women in labor relations and the special position of pregnant women , nursing women and mothers within nine months after child delivery in labor law in selected institutions. The bachelor´s thesis is based on the current legislation of women position in labor relations and reflects the legal situation valid till 1.9.2013.

Workplace stress : prevention opportunities

The research and development activities pertaining to the project focus on identification of the most frequent and significant stressors in the workplace, importance evaluation which includes a recommendation of some measures that restrict or abolish stressor influence. Workplace stress is one of the relevant phenomena influencing apart from workforce health also labour productivity and work quality. The project reacts to the obligations stemming from the Czech Presidency of the European Union Council in 2009. The priority and the cooperation of the Czech part is oriented to identify and figure out the stress feature, excessive mental load and other negative phenomena (violence, harassment) in the public administration. The project aim is to map out the issue not only in the public administration but also in the Czech Republic.

The solved project “OSH and risk Factors of workers 50 and over – elderly workers in the working process with the suggestions on measures on resort and enterprise level” is aimed at the design of proposed ways, methods and means for creation work conditions contributing to the occupational safety and health of older age groups workers, to surmount present and possible future discrimination persons over 50 on the labour market, to extend their work activities, to enhance their flexibility and attraction for employers. The most important is to identify opportunities and motivation and stimulation instruments for solving the situation both on the side of the state, employers and a focus group.
