Wattmeters for cycling
Hrbotický, Lukáš ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Korvas, Pavel (advisor)
Bachelor thesis talking about problematics of measuring the wattage of cycling on a road bike. It describes ways in which it is possible to measure the wattage on the bike and explains functional principle of power meters. As practical part of this thesis the measurement is performed according to the proposed test protocol. Based on the analysis and processing of the obtained data, the accuracy of individual types of meter performance is discussed.

Determination of performance in cycling
Papp, Dominik ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on increasing trend of measuring mechanic power in cycling. The research part shows types of power meters and shown their function. Important part in measuring power is strain gauge. Because of that, they were described, divide into category and shown their deficiencies. Theoretic knowledge has been verified by numeric simulation in Ansys.
Single-phase wattmeter
Kolouch, Petr ; Knobloch, Jan (referee) ; Huták, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with wattmeters. The introduction is devoted to approach the issue. Subsequently, the principle of sensing of circumferential quantities, sampling theory and basic theory is explained. The next chapter discusses Arduino development kits. The practical part deals with the design of the circuit diagram and the printed circuit board. Further described is designed software. The final part tests the parameters of the designed power meter.
Cycling - The use of power meters in a race
Schuran, Michal ; Šafránek, Jiří (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title of the study: Cycling - The use of power meters in a race Study aim: The aim of this study is to prove power meters usability during races which are full of variable conditions and to find out in which situations it is suitable or unsuitable to follow this data. Methods: This study is based on quantitative research. We used a questionnaire with open-ended questions. Results: The study confirmed the usability of power meters during races. Power meters are used especially after post-race analysis (92 %). 79 % of all respondents use it for the informative purpose during the race and 67 % ride the race according to the data given by power meters. Power meters are mainly used in time-trials or longer performace, such as climbing or breakaway. The results has shown a significant difference between amateurs and professional cyclists. 83 % of amateurs stated that they often ride according to their critical values when riding more than 15 minutes whereas professionals regularly ride beyond their critical values. Conclusions: Cyclists using power meters while practicing use them also during the races. Amateurs use them especially during races because of more frequent solo ride. Getting data from this questionnaire by World Tour riders would be very interesting as we would be able to compare the results...
Utilization of measurer for external performance in preparation period of cyclists and triathlonists in Czech republic
Kučera, Zdeněk ; Horčic, Josef (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
SUMMARY: Title: Usage of measurer of external performance in trainings of cyclists and triathlonists in Czech republic Made by: Zdeněk Kučera Supervisor: PaedDr. Josef Horčic, Ph.D. Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out, what is the usage of measurer of external performance for training management. The usage of wattmeter will be analysed among cyclists and triathlonists in Czech Republic. Methods: In my research, which was realized for the purpose of reaching the goal of thesis, was used the survey. The obtained information were sorted and interpreted by graphs. Results: It was found out, that performance measuring according to watts is supported and wattmeter plays an important role among other ways of measuring performance. It is necessary, that using of this tool has to be based on experiences, knowledge and individual access of cyclist. In despite of popularity of wattmeter the other ways of performance measuring are still inconsiderable, especially heart rate is not replaceable. Keywords:Wattmeter, heart rate, cadence, training management.
Logger pulse from wattmeter
Severa, Pavel ; Kubásek, Radek (referee) ; Friedl, Martin (advisor)
Most electronic wattmeter contains output for processing information on the con- sumption of other devices. The aim of this semestral project is to create a suitable device for reading output from power meter, store this information on the removable medium in size and ability to integrate into the distribution cabinet. Among other things, will monitor and record mode cheaper electricity, known as night mode.)
Reduction in the Consumption of Electrical Energy during Computer Network
Doležal, Michal ; Zbytovský, Jan (referee) ; Kříž, Jiří (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the analysis problem during of electrical energy. On the basis of findings, the work includes analysis of the costs on electrical energy.
Energy meter with PLC communication
Szalbot, Michal ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
Our thesis is about development of equipment, which combine two technology. First technology is wattmeter which is used to energy measurement and second is Power line communication. Wattmeter needs two variables for measurement, voltage and current. Voltage measurement is less difficult than measurement of current. Voltage can be reduce and measured by A/D converter. Current has to be transform to voltage and than can be measured same way. To do that we use current transformer. Than we design program for the microcontroller, involvement and PCB. Wattmeter is connect to PLC modem which has been chosen. Fusing this two technology we create wattmeter network. Next step was program which is used to network control and data collecting. This data are used to create charts in web application.
Problems and measurements of the basic electrotechnical quantities
BOHÁČ, Radek
The purpose of this thesis is selection and specification of basic teaching methods used in heavy current laboratory during vocational training education at secondary school. Basic methods for electrical values measurements in heavy-current laboratory, measuring instruments basic division and measured electrical values evaluation. Further, basic measurement of electrical values, current, voltage, power, resistance and capacity are specified here.
