Reischlová, Eliška ; Carboch, Jan (advisor) ; Kočíb, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Anticipation sources and interaction during the serve return Objectives: The objectives of this diploma thesis are to explore what kinds of anticipatory resources elite tennis players perceive and which ones they take in consideration when returning the service. Methods: The qualitative type of research was used in this diploma thesis, specifically a case study. Professional tennis players were chosen and their ATP emplacement is from 26th to 163th in the world. Five of the chosen tennis players only train now, two of them train and also play and the other two only play. Their age varies from 25 to 43 years old. A method of review with instruction was used, the review had seven questions and lasted approximately 30-60 minutes during which the players thought in detail of key factors that they use for anticipation the service. The second phase of the research was a transcription of the review, its coding and analysis. Results: In this diploma thesis there is a description of individual themes that point out to other anticipatory resources which tennis players examine during their matches. Tennis players examine contextual and kinematic resources that help them to anticipate the service during the match. It was also found that tennis trainers do not use anticipation and returning the service...
Hunting mechanism and visual perception of prey in amphibians
Košinárová, Lucie ; Frýdlová, Petra (advisor) ; Černý, Rudolf (referee)
Visual perception holds the dominant position among other senses in amphibians. It provides vital information about any potential prey or predators in the surrounding area. Any information, gained through optical sensors, is then directly evaluated in brain, activating different behavioral reactions: prey catching or predator avoidance behaviour. Decision is based on individual parameters of stimuli. In case of identifying a prey stimulus an innate behavior pattern is activated. There are many prey catching strategies in amphibians. Their selecting may vary due to many aspects including food preferences, mechanical constraints or a phylogenetic position of the species. Habitat may also have an influence over hunting strategy or even morphological characters of species, mostly regarding their oral system. Tongue plays an important role in almost every prey catching movement in terrestrial and also in some aquatic amphibians. There are different types of tongue elongation in amphibians that are divided into several categories, which can affect the hunting strategy for each species. Apart from creating a summary about visual perception and hunting mechanisms, this thesis includes a mapping of different types of tongue elongation on a phylogenetic tree of amphibians. The main goal of this task is to find a...
Visual Perception in the Work of René Magritte
VANDERKOVÁ, Andrea
This work provides a detailed analysis of three works by René Magritte based on the theoretical background of Visual Culture Studies and Semiotics. Since these disciplines still need to be better established in Czech research, the first part of the thesis is devoted to creating of theoretical background relevant to the interpretation of Magritte's works. In addition to this part aiming at the issue of human perception of images in general, the thesis also deals with the interpretation of selected works and the dynamics of the relation between word and image that had influenced Magritte's work. Based on the interpretation of Magritte's work, I try to illuminate the ways in which we perceive images and evaluate the world through them.

Reception and processing of visual information in traffic Mgr. Dana Černochová Abstract The theoretical part of this work deals with the visual perception of the driver. Special attention is paid to the perception of visual information in the whole range of the field of view. From psychological point of view, the term functional field of view is important, the construct taking into account not only perception, but also the attention. Its size depends on the amount of information which have to be processed at any given moment. Foreign literature uses the term "Useful field of view" under the abbreviation UFOV, german literature uses the term "nutzbares Sehfeld" under the abbreviation NSF. The experimental part of the work focuses on evaluating the changes of the visual perception in the range of the visual field in relation to age. For this the SET of 1361 people in age group from 18 to 90 years. In further subchapters the experiment is described where the secondary task was used as variable in order to find out whether the increased cognitive load affects the range of the useful field of view. For this experiment, the set of 645 people of age 18-90 years was used. The parameters of the visual perception in the situations with and without added secondary task were also monitored for the relationship to the...
