Alternative(Substitutional) family care - development at newly defined legal environment

This bachelor's thesis describes the topic of foster care and its development in the newly defined law system. At the beginning it shows the importance of attachement, which is based on the basic needs of the child. It charted the development and types of attachement. The other part focuses on the topic of pathology of attachement. It is briefly defined terms of deprivation and separation. The next section shows forms of treatment processes in cases of deprivation and separation. In cases of deprivation is a given treatment process in the form of adoption and long-term care. It includes a basic definition of these terms and changes resulting from the new modification of the legal definition of this issue. In the section describing the healing process in case of separation is defined the foster care for a temporary period. Here it is pointed to process of attachement, interruption, or its transfer to another, new caregiver. It follows research proposal which can be the basis for subsequent studies. It is a comparison of the formation and sustain of emotional relationship in long-term foster care cases and in cases of foster care for a temporary period. Problems of Socialization of Children in Foster Care in Secondary Schools

This thesis is focused on the process of socialization of childen growing up in foster care families at secondary schools. The aim is to describe the process of socialization in two main social groups for these chidren - foster family and school class - and describe some specific behaviour of these children in the process of socialization, their perceptions of foster families and the school community. By qualitative interviews was examined socialization proces, from the perspective of foster parents, classroom teachers and children. The study compares three cases of foster family, successful and unsuccessful socialization by the subjective view of participants. The research results suggest that these children adapt to a new environment with varying success, their group beviour is different and sometimes deviate significantly from their environment, which may be due to lack of family background and security of biological families
Kinship care from the view of care givers

The diploma thesis discusses the issue of kinship foster care, its specifics, strengths and weaknesses. It examines the views of grandparents, aunties, uncles and other relatives on their role in foster care and the children's life. The theoretical part is focused on basic topics in foster care, views on foster care and the development of children living in foster care. The practical part of the thesis is focused on semi-structured interviews with care givers which should tell us facts about their views of foster care, why children are placed in their family, practical problems and help which they need. There are also casuistries of foster care families.
Comparison of Institutes of Spare Parental Care from Terms of the Needs of the Child and the Caregivers

The thesis titled "Comparison of institutes of spare parental care from terms of the needs of the child and the caregivers" is focusing on the issue of spare parental care and caring of other person than a parent from the view of the needs of children and the caregivers. There are two strikingly similar institutions in the practice which have their own characteristics. The aim of my thesis is to describe, explain and specify differences these institutes and to show how it is accepted by caregivers. For specifics of long- term foster care and other individuals in this thesis is considered mainly a way of material security of the state, the method of cooperation with the non-profit sector, law institutes, experienced caregivers and the issue of cooperation with original family. In the empirical part was conducted quantitative research through a questionnaire that focused on the experiences and skills of the caregivers. The work also deals with quantitative research when caregivers share their views and experiences. The main finding is that the persons taking care of the foster care institute have greater knowledge about the new rights and obligations arising from the amendment Law of social and legal protection of children. Adolescent Identity in Foster Care

This thesis deals with the specifics of adolescent identity (18 - 19 years) and growing up in long-term foster care in the Czech Republic. The purpose of this study is to describe how the adolescents in foster care see and think of themselves. The theoretical part focuses on the developmental period of adolescence with its outstanding characteristics. It also discusses the theories of identity and foster care in the Czech Republic. In addition, the newest studies related to the topic are covered. The goal of the practical part is to describe the forms of identity with their significant components. The main method includes semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The results of the research show, that there is a strong attachement of the adolescents in foster care to their social environment (mainly to the foster parent, but also to other reference groups), through which these persons see themselves. Foster family plays an important role in the life of adolescents because they feel thankful for the care of their substitute carers. Same-sex parenting matters

The thesis focuses on the adoption possibilities for same-sex couples. The main aim is to investigate and assess which opinion is prevailing in our society. Each term related to same-sex partnerships or marriages is defined in particular theoretical parts. The subsequent chapter deals with homosexuality and family. In the empirical part, the data collected in the quantitatve survey have been analysed and interpreted. The survey has been conducted through questionnaires designated for general public as well as homosexuals.

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of kinship foster care. Kinship foster care is a form of foster care, in which a child is being raised by its relative. This form has undoubtedly many benefits, but it also brings out many difficulties. My thesis focuses on potential problems in kinship foster care. It discusses intergenerational issues in kinship foster care, where the child is being raised by his grandparents. The objective of this thesis is to determine, what are the intergenerational problems and to emphasize the differences between foster care and kinship foster care. The diploma thesis titled "Foster care" is dedicated to the foster care in the Czech republic. Its main objective is to explore the benefits of legislative changes to the functioning of foster care. The work also provides view of alternative forms of family education and types of foster care. In the theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the history of foster care, its forms, modes of mediation, both for applicants and in children. Furthermore, is the financing of foster care and foster's rights and obligations that are newly included within the framework of foster care. Finally, the work also addresses the difficulties that foster care entails, and which should be equated foster even before the adoption of a child in foster care. There is the thesis research among foster families focusing among other things on the evaluation of changes in foster care from their perspective in the practical part.
Temporary Foster Care in the Czech Republic and its Situation as a Result of Political Changes

Bachelor thesis "Temporary foster care in the Czech republic and its situation as a result of legislative changes" deals with current situation of foster care after amendment of Act of Child protection, which came into force in 2013. First part is aimed to explaining terms, which are necessary for the work. Descriptive part deals with foster care description, because foster care and temporary foster share a lot of characteristics. Descriptive part is also aimed to the temporary foster care. There is explained, what this type of family care means and who is designed for. It also defines, which condition must interested person fulfill, to become foster parent. Insignificant part of the work are also financial conditions of both types of foster care. Analytical part is aimed to foster parents and professionals opinions. Essential part is these people opinion about the amendment. It is researched if the situation after amendment was improved, and if conditions of foster care are now better or worse. Another part is aimed to opinions of temporary foster care. There is discovered if it was well established, if there is place for improvement and if there is a lot of people, who are interested in temporary foster care.
