Evaluation of technology for the biomass incineration.
Trna, Lukáš ; Tabasová, Andrea (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor‘s thesis is to provide general information about biomass and technologies for its using. The thesis is diveded into four main parts. The first part describe sources of biomass, its adaptation and its processing for energy purposes. The second part is more comprehensive and mentions individual technoligies and possibilities of final using of biomass. The third part sums sup ecological falls and efects of production biomass on environment. The fourth part deals with economics and compares costs of the most available technolgies for gaining thermal energy.
Experimental reactors for combustion of biomass and municipal solid waste
Bialožyt, Michal ; Juřena, Tomáš (referee) ; Recman, Milan (advisor)
The main purpose of this thesis is background research about experimental reactors for combustion process research. Mainly semted on reactors with fixed bed for alternative fuels, such as biomass and municipal solid waste. Mathematical modeling of the combustion process with modern software products and its optimalization is not possible without input data gathering from these facilities. Thesis should serve as a source of information for building a new experimental reactor.
Potential of biomass utilization in the Czech Republic
Klímová, Jana ; Otáhal, Jan (referee) ; Košner, Jan (advisor)
Main task of this bachelor work is to focus on splitting and usage of alternative, renewable energy source – biomass, as a source of thermal and combined electrical energy and to review possibility of increasing of consumption of this source on territory of the Czech Republic. In this work certain kinds of biomass, potential and possibility of it’s usage suggestion for utilization, according to Action plan for biomass and main ways of it’s development will be presented.

Organic chemicals from biomass
POMIJOVÁ, Zuzana
This bachelor thesis follow up the issue of biotechnology of biomass in terms of use biomass as a feedstock for the production of applications for the chemical, food and energy industries. From a brief overview of some very basic, but most important, products, through the story of lignocellulosic rafineries, it is technology and the advantages and disadvantages to the third generation biofuels is a summary of the work of knowledge of Czech and foreign experts over the past few years. Part of this work are not only examples of already operate technologies and applications, as well as proposals that have unfortunately been put into practice, as well as the various challenges posed by the effort to replace conventional technologies, especially petrochemical, new technologies.
Biochar Preparation of Various Types of Biomass
Břendová, R. ; Tlustoš, P. ; Száková, J. ; Habart, J. ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Punčochář, Miroslav
Soil contamination by risk elements is a serious problem. There are available remediation methods, using plants to remove these elements from soil. Plants for our experiments were grown on contaminated soil of Příbram area. Biomass of these plants was used to prepare biochar, which could be used then as a soil additive and due to its characteristics, can be able to immobilize risk elements in soil. The experiment was focused on the biochar preparation. There was observed the effect of the type of biomass and the final temperature on specific surface area and yield of biochar: properties limit its application as a soil additive. While the final temperature increased, the specific surface area increased and the yield of biochar decrease. The highest surface area was found at biochar from wood mixture.

Influence of Pyrolysis Temperature and Type of Ligno-Cellulose and Cellulose Biomass on Yield, Specific Surface Area and Mechanical Resistance of Active Coal
Pohořelý, Michael ; Břendová, K. ; Krček, M. ; Šyc, Michal ; Punčochář, Miroslav ; Száková, J. ; Tlustoš, P.
In the Czech Republic, there are many contaminated agricultural soils due to anthropogenic activity and geogenic origin. The contaminated biomass of plants grown on the contaminated soils needs to be appropriately disposed of to prevent the re-releace of heavy metals into the environment. One way of processing contaminated biomass is pyrolysis, where the heavy metals are concentrated in biochar (active coal). This can be applied to soil where it improves the physical properties. The aim of the work was to observe the effect of temperature and the type of biomass grown on contaminated soils from a locality Příbram on the specific surface area, yield and mechanic resistance of active coal.
