Critical Success Factors of Business Intelligence Implementation in the Non-commercial Sector
Jelínek, Petr ; Novotný, Ota (advisor) ; Zajíc, Ján (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is to create a list of critical success factors (CSF) of Business Intelligence implementation in the non-commercial sector and check this list in practice on real projects. Part of the thesis is also the summary of all specifics and differences of BI implementation in public sector and the view of usage possibilities of BI in this sector in relationship on already implemented projects in the Czech Republic so and abroad. The thesis is composed of theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part is focused on problems related to this area, especially analyses the present state of BI in public sector and features specifics and differences related to BI implementation in this area. Further also describes all significant critical success factors of BI implementation in general. Practical part is then aimed on particular verification of Business Intelligence CSFs on real projects realized in non-commercial sector inside of the Czech Republic. As a main tool for obtaining needed and objective information were used managed interviews with competent deputies of submitter (customer) and supplier of particular BI solution. The main contribution of this thesis is determination of differences, but also consistent components of Business Intelligence implementation in non-commercial sector compared to private sector with emphasis on critical success factors. Significant is also the comprehensive view of possibilities and advantages of BI usage in public sector, created by analysis of already implemented projects. These achieved results can be utilized by future (and contemporary) suppliers and submitters of BI projects, but also of other projects from information science area.

Time-Resolved Terahertz Spectroscopy Applied to the Investigation of Magnetic Materials and Photonic Structures
Němec, Hynek ; Kužel, Petr (advisor) ; Čtyroký, Jiří (referee) ; Crozat, Paul (referee)
Two distinct branches of optics are combined in this work: Time-domain terahertz spectroscopy, and photonic structures. The work at rst provides a survey of tools utilized for exploration of the terahertz region, and it enriches them by a method for simultaneous determination of dielectric and magnetic response of materials and metamaterials. Photonic structures operating in the terahertz range form the subject of the rest of this thesis. A periodically modulated dielectric waveguide is studied theoretically using a modal method: The band structure of guided and leaky modes is calculated and resonant modes are described. One-dimensional photonic crystals with a defect are then investigated in detail. Formation of defect modes is analyzed theoretically in a photonic crystal with a twinning defect. The analysis makes it possible to formulate requirements on a design of a structure with defect modes tunable by external parameters. Following these guidelines, we have successfully designed, fabricated and characterized photonic crystals with thermally tunable defect modes with relative tunability reaching 60 %.

Evaluation of Efficiency of Selected Public Construction Order
Pavelek, Jan ; Vítková, Eva (referee) ; Puchýř, Bohumil (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the revitalization of brownfield implemented through public producrement and selected in the city of Brno. The theoretical part includes basic concepts that explain the issue of brownfields, public procurement, and more specifically the assessment of their economic efficiency. The practical part is focused on the specific case of brownfield revitalization through public procurement including its economic assessment. The use of econimic analysis, namely Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), will be utilized to assess the effectiveness, and socio-economic impacts will also be determined. The purpose of the second part is to determine whether the revitalization thus made more economically advantageous for the city of Brno.

Rating Model for the Internal Assessment of the Creditworthiness of Customers
Vaňková, Leona ; Kotěrová, Monika (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
The object of the following Diploma thesis was to design and test a simple and well-arranged credit tool – a Rating Model (further Model) which could be used as a preventative measure in credit policy. This rating model was designed in order to make the work of the Credit Risk Management sub-department and Rating Committee of KORADO more effective and at the same time to make more effective use of currently available internal and external data. Should the Company decide to use this Rating Model, a minimum of additional expenses would be incurred. The reader of this work will gain theoretical knowledge regarding financial analysis, credit management and fuzzy logic which is used in the calculation of a Total Rating. He/she will become acquainted with the major external agencies providing rating evaluations. As well, the reader may apprise the theoretical Rating model, including its practical use on four domestic and four overseas customers of KORADO. In conclusion there is an implementation of the Model, including a time schedule, an implementation team proposal as well as a budget of implementation and utilization costs.

Silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) - Properties of wood and the use of forestry and timber
Horáček, Petr
Silver fir is considered as one of the most important coniferous trees for industrial processing\nin addition to Norway spruce. Its economic importance is unquestionable. Wood properties of\nsilver fir are similar to spruce one, the utilization of both wood species corresponds as well.\nBesides an economic effect, the fir also fulfils ecological functions and therefore it belongs to\nthe ameliorative and stabilising tree species. The paper describes the structure, properties and\nutilization of fir both in the timber industry and forestry. It assesses the stabilization effect of\ntree species including fir based on mechanical properties of green wood and material indices.
