The Use of Statistical Methods for Data Processing

In this bachelor´s thesis, the financial situation of the Quantum, a.s. Company is analyzed by performing financial and statistical analysis on the data obtained from the company’s financial statements. This thesis is divided into three main parts, the first part is focused on the theoretical base which is important for understanding issues related to this bachelor´s thesis. The second part describes the Quantum, a.s. Company and deals with the data analysis using financial indicators and statistical methods, all calculations are performed in this part. The last part provides suggestions for improving financial situation of the company based on the results of analysis.

The goal of this thesis is to design & create a corporate VBA application for IBM that will help with the tracking of data from financial documents from suppliers. The application will generate summaries and insights, which will enable filtering, and will have the option to prepare reports for project managers and leadership.

This diploma thesis describes the design and creation of an application used to track Project Manager allocation in the company IBM Global Services Delivery Center Czech Republic. The first chapter contains theoretical information needed to understand the content of the thesis, while the second chapter focuses on analyzing the current status of this area. The third chapter then explores the options on how to solve the identified problem, and the best alternative is then chosen and created.

This bachelor's thesis uses analysis of economic indicators and statistical methods to evaluate financial situation of the chosen company, including the prediction of this situation for future years. The first part is defined to theoretical bases of economic analysis that are needed to understand this issue. The second part is analytic and contains calculations of indicators, which form the basis for the last part of this work, whose task is to provide suggestions for improvements to the current economic situation and increase the competitiveness of the company.

Final support tool should facilitate all management decisions regarding long-term planning of production and will be implemented in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications.

Theme of this master’s thesis is design of software support for business intelligence. Design is realized in cooperation with corporation ZZN Pelhřimov a.s. Introduction is focused on theoretical description of business intelligence and datamining and also on development environment in which is project designed. Corporation is characterised also in introduction. Main part contains data collecting and definition of individual modules. In conclusion of this thesis will be several types of analysis from collected data and then according to these analysis, we can draw measures to improve current state of corporation.

The Solving of Distribution Problems in MS Excel / LINGO

The goal of this work is to explain the topic of distribution problems, special kind of linear programming problems, and also to show possibilities for solving them in some programming systems. For solving several types of distribution problems - transportation problem, container transportation problem, assignment problem, allocation problem and travelling salesman problem - I have created an application which connects MS Excel with programming language LINGO. This connection is realized by means of VBA - Visual Basic for Applications. There are described the main procedures and functions of LINGO and VBA including minute description of interconnection of these systems. Created application is illustrated on several small problems in the last part of work.
