Management of textile waste from housholds in Czech Republic
Nencková, Lucie ; Hadrabová, Alena (advisor) ; Lisa, Aleš (referee) ; Hájek, Miroslav (referee)
Proper consumer attitude towards textile products and optimal post-consumer waste management of textile waste is connected with many benefits. Despite this fact, little research has been conducted on these topics. Textile waste represented mainly by donated textile from households and its material flow in waste streams mirrors the behaviour of our consumer society as well as new technologies in textile and fashion industry. More information about consumer attitude and behaviour toward textile and textile waste is needed to provide suitable waste management processes according to the hierarchy of waste management, such as re-use and energy recovery, and to ensure sustainable development and minimal impact on the worlds wellbeing. This study takes into account not only waste management of textile waste, but also tries to understand all textile issues in a wider perspective. Particularly fashion industry is connected with many negative ethical aspects (e.g. sweatshops), and many environmental issues are connected with overproduction of lower-quality textile products. Proper handling of post-consumer textile products is only one of the product life cycle stages to be solved. The main goal of this study is to discuss the results of a consumer attitude and behaviour questionnaire toward textile and textile waste from households in the Czech Republic. The study also includes partial hypotheses and an analysis of interest groups as other possible sources of information to form proper textile waste management policy tools and strategies.

Supported Emplayment from the Perspective of Emplayers
MYŠÁKOVÁ, Hana
The philosophy of supported employment in the Czech Republic has been developing for over than twenty years. Nevertheless this service is still neglected and only a few non-profit organizations put it into practice. The service is not legislatively based and also the society does not have a clear opinion on employment of people with disabilities. Current labour market situation is not advantageous at all. Therefore some support of disabled people looking for a job is becoming more necessary and required. The employers are an important part of the whole problems, because their attitude to the idea of supported employment plays a significant role. The bachelor's thesis "Supported Employment from the Perspective of Employers" has pretentions to look into supported employment from the employers' point of view. They are not active initiators of the service, but they are important participants for its successful realization. The theoretical part of the thesis tries to describe the basic problems. It covers the service of supported employment from historical development to its importance. It focuses on special characteristics of disabilities and their social impact on human beings. The closing part is dedicated to working opportunities for people with disabilities in the circumstances of current legislative and economic situation. The practical part is written in the form of a qualitative research. The method of questioning and semi-structured interviews were used for the purposes of the research. Eight people were chosen intentionally for the survey. The data gained from the interviews were analysed with the method of open coding. The main aim of the thesis was to map out empoyers' experience with the service of supported employment. Motivation of employers to put this service into practice was the next part of the research. The question was: "What reasons for realization of supported employment do predominate by employers?" The research showed the most frequent facts, which predestine the integration possibility of disabled people in open labour market fundamentally. After the interviews and answering the questions of the research, it was possible to describe the employers' experience with the supported employment service and also their main incentives for its realization. It was found out that employers' experience with the supported employment service is quite limited. Employers often get to know it through the agency for supported employment, which is not only the initiator of cooperation, but it also plays an important role when a disabled person is being employed. An important point of successful employment is often how the emploeyer is satisfied with the agency. The employment of disabled people often brings certain risks connected with the limits of disabilities. Employers, who enable disabled people to work, are aware of that. The impulse for employment can vary from financial advantages, company philantrophy to personal solidarity of the employer. Social responsibility of the company is becoming a trend, that many employers start to know. But it can be presumed to influence the employment of more people with disabilities and at the same time the looking up the supported employment service by the employers. This bachelor's thesis can be contributive to understanding the importance of employment for disabled people's living. It brings information about the employers' experience with the realization of supported employment and motivation to the realization. It can also help to uncover integration obstacles of people with disabilities in open labour market.

The Production and Ecological Potential of Pine Stands on Anthropogenic Soils of Post-Mining Sites
Dragoun, Lukáš ; Merganič, Ján (advisor) ; Konopka, Bohdan (referee)
Extraction of mineral resources constituted the development of industrial companies worldwide. But it has a major impact on the landscape and environment. Restoration of areas disturbed by mining is current issue especially on large surfaces after surface mining. In the Sokolov region, the forest reclamation was carried out on the Antonin spoil bank in the years 1969-1972, where forest stands of different species composition were established under the same conditions. The aim of this work is to compare the mixed pine stands on anthropogenic soils more than 40 years after their foundation, to assess their suitability for reclamation and to describe the influence of admixed deciduous trees on the production and ecological potential of the site. On the plots the basic mensurational and production quantities of the stand were measured. The dendrochronological analysis was performed and the diameter increment was detected for the main species Scots pine. Based on the diameter increment, the tolerance analysis was carried out for the highest risk factor on these sites - drought. The most appropriate in local conditions seems to be a structure of pine stands with an admixture of lime trees, which is characterized by the highest production, soil formation and ecological potential. The work also points to two important factors that significantly influenced the silviculture on the Antonin spoil bank. It is the neglect of stand tending, and thus significant disruption in stand stability, and limiting intake of water, causing significant declines in increment regardless of an admixture or character of the stands.

Essays on International Currency Markets
Poghosyan, Tigran ; Kočenda, Evžen (advisor) ; Orlowski, Lucjan (referee) ; Kutan, Ali M. (referee)
1 ABSTRACT Essays on International Currency Markets By Tigran Poghosyan This dissertation consists of three essays on foreign exchange risks in international financial markets and financial integration in the new EU member countries. The first essay focuses on the determinants of foreign exchange risks in post-transition economies. Using a unique dataset on foreign and domestic currency denominated deposit rates in Armenia, we estimate excess returns on foreign exchange operations, which are free from the impact of country risk and transaction costs. The calculated excess returns are largely positive (existence of the premium for risk) and exhibit substantial variation over time. The two-currency interdependent factor affine term structure model captures the time- variability of the risk premium and predicts that the Central Bank interventions in the foreign exchange market and ratio of volumes of foreign and domestic currency denominated deposits (proxy for external shocks) are important explanatory variables driving the premium. The GARCH-in-Mean approach supports the previous conclusion and suggests that the Central Bank interventions (policy factor) are significant for the premium on the short horizon, while deposit ratios (fundamental factor) are more influential on the long horizon. It was also found...

On the cutting of cast superalloys
Metelková, Jitka ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This work deals with the issue of defects generation during the separation of the castings from a nickel-based superalloy, Inconel 738LC. The technology of investment casting is presented, followed by a description of metallurgy of superalloys, their physical and mechanical properties, as well as their technical applications. The machinability of superalloys and method of castings separation were also described as well as some of the casting defects that were reported to have impact on the generation of the defects after cutting. In the experimental part, the material microstructure and casting defects were analyzed. The experimental machining part consisted first of a comparative study of the friction sawing and plasma arc cutting technology at the standard operating conditions actually used in production. Second, an optimization study for the friction sawing was carried out, with a special focus on the suitability of an alternative cutoff wheel for the chosen application. Application of this wheel allows reducing the security distance between the cut and the part, thus reducing the production cost of the part.
